Chapter 14

978 Words
After hearing what the others were saying both wolves moved away from the people that had been talking in search of Nathan or anyone in his family. As they came to the front of the small home that Nathan's family resided in the door opened. His mother stood there crying. Micheal moved towards her and gave her a hug. As he held the woman close he offered her not just a hug but also tried to soothe her. " What's wrong? How can we help?" Micheal asked her rubbing her back. " Nathan passed out when he was out helping in the gardens." She said sobbing. " I am gonna lose my son. My baby." She said then burst into tears. Her shoulders shook as she cried out her pain. Micheal's eyes held in sympathy he felt for her. As he went on to comfort her he also helped to guide her back into the home. Once the slightly taller wolf got her to her couch Kingston moved past them. He headed deeper into the small home. As he came to where Nathan's bedroom door was A warlock he had not been introduced to stood there. " Only family allowed inside." He told Kingston. " I need to talk to Preston," Kingston informed him. " He is busy right now." The other man said crossing his arms over his chest. The door opened and Preston walked out. He gave both men a dirty look and turned to walk down the hall towards the kitchen and living room area. Both men filed along and followed him down the hallway. Once in the kitchen Preston took a seat and gestured for them to also sit. His face was still looking a bit pissed off. Kingston only hoped it was not aimed his way. After Kingston took a seat across from the warlock he took in a deep breath. It was then that he questioned how to broach the subject he needed to. He had come to a conclusion and after talking to Micheal he knew he had to bring Preston up to speed on what he was gonna do. He only hoped not to piss off the warlock. He had seen the other tossing around flaming balls into campfires and did not wish to know what it felt like to be blasted with magic fire. " I heard what happened while we were in town. I wanted to offer some sort of help." He informed them. " And how do you think you can help? My little brother is gonna die cause his mate married a human and rejected him. I mean I get they are worried about being exposed but there were still other options." Preston ranted. " I was wondering why he chose for his son to do this and not to have a warlock who had the powers to wipe the mind of the human governor. It makes no sense." Kingston said. " Two things I figure. One he was unhappy to find out his son was to be mated to an omega. Not just an omega but a powerful warlock one. Two, if he had reached out it would of caused him to owe us a favor back. That is how it is. If a supernatural community needs help from another it becomes a favor owed. One that can be passed down. Alpha Steele does not like owing anyone anything. Oh and three he never has to see his son doting on another male. Even though it's nothing new for our kind, I hear he has taken up with human values. " Pr4eston said scowling. " He sounds a lot like my father," Kingston said without thinking. " But are you not mated to your fated mate?" Preston asked him. " I had claimed him. But then I left him. But we found our way back to each other." He said being pretty vague. " Glad you woke up and accepted him," Preston said. " Yes but like I said I also had a overbearing father which it sounds like Alpha Steele is. I want to go to the Royal Pack and try to talk to the Alpha Prince. Maybe Alpha to Alpha I can get him to see that this road he is on is not gonna be a good one." Kingston said. " Are you planning on coming back? " Preston asked his eyes now locking into Kingston. " Yes, and Micheal wishes to stay here. He wishes to spend more time with your brother. If that will be allowed?" Kingston said laying out the plan. At least the part he could share. " I think it might help my brother to have another Omega to talk with. I will allow it. When you get back see me before you do anything. I wish to know what happened when you talked to that stuck-up Alpha." Preston said. " I will." Kingston said. Both men then shook hands and stood up. Preston let out a sigh and , moved to go back down to his brother's room. Before he stepped too far away, He stopped. " I do hope you can talk some sense into the wolf. I am just worried I will lose my brother." He said then walked away. Now Kingston felt like even more weight had been placed on his shoulders. He also was filled with determination to fix this. He was hating to know that the king's sweet warlock Omega was wasting away. This whole situation made him hate himself for how this same thing had happened to him and Micheal. It almost seemed like this whole situation just kept repeating itself. It was time to hug his mate and bid him goodbye for now. Time to step up how the Goddess wanted. Time to do his job of fixing things.
