"Security check is on sir," the head of security told his boss and bowed. His bowed just waved him oof and relaxed in his chair. He sighed deeply as his security closed the door. "What the hell am I to do now? My business has crashed because of that cursed Bride or whatever her name is," he muttered running his hand through his hair in frustration. "You called?" A soft voice said and the curtain on his window moved revealing a Gil in black leather. Fear gripped the man as he saw her. "How did you get in here," he asked I'm fear while subtly trying to press the button under his table. The intruder had stealthily bypassed security and the button that summoned his guards right outside his door was his only hope to survive the end of her blade. "Seriously. Can't you guys trust in yourselves? I'm getting tired of the constant replay," she replied as if disappointed. Before his hand could hover on the button, she was suddenly on his table and kicked him on the chest making his chair move away from the table. He coughed out blood and stared in shock at his bleeding chest. It was true what they say, the Bride was fast. "Yeah, I prepared the blade just in case of such situations. You guys are so predictable, tsk tsk tsk," she said shaking her head. "Anyways, I better leave before I miss my flight," she said getting off the table and headed to the door. "You'll... never... walk out... alive," he coughed out as he could feel his body going numb. There was poison in the shoe blade. "I don't think you have a say, dead guy," she said, throwing a spinning blade to him without turning around. The blade swiftly slit his throat and returned to her. As she got to the door, she stopped and removed a small ball from her jacket. "Just hope his security is as bad as the last one," she muttered and open the door a bit, putting the ball in the doorway. She closed the door and waited for two seconds. "Here we go," she said and stepped out, pressing a button under her earlobe, activating her mask which was a transparent covering on her nose. The two guards at the door were lying unconscious as the ball she threw had released a knockout gas. The fire alarm rang all through the mansion due to the gas and guards poured in from all corners. "Oh well. Typical," she shrugged. The moment they saw the intruder, some guards rushed up the stairs. The Bride ran towards the railing and leaped. Releasing a tiny string from her wrist, she grabbed onto the large chandelier on the roof and pulled herself towards it. She placed her other hand on the roof and a tiny bomb stuck on the roof. She slashed off the hold of the chandelier and came crashing down on the unprepared guards. Before it landed though, she jumped onto one of guards who were amazed by her ability and snapped his neck. Moving onto the next, she swiped his neck with a kick making her blade slit his throat. "I really do not have time to dance fellas, maybe next time," she said moving through them with blade kicks and neck snaps. Once she was out the door, the guards outside rushed towards her with their guns. "Not guns," she muttered. She ran towards the gate while dodging the bullets that flew towards her. Her displeasure with guns wasn't that she would get hurt by the bullets since she had activated her transparent bullet proof shield that covered her from head to toe. It was more about the pinch that came with each bullet hit she couldn't avoid. Getting towards the gate, she clicked a button on her metallic bracelet and a helicopter appeared above her. She leaped on the gate and using it to propel herself, she leaped towards the helicopter. Using her string she held onto the body of the helicopter and looked down at her loving fans. "I guess working for the bad guys is bad luck!" she shouted above the sound of the helicopter at the guards that tried bringing it down. She snapped her fingers and the mansion exploded wiping itself clean of any life; the guards outside falling victim. She smiled at her work and entered the helicopter heading back to base. She landed on the helipad and came out to meet her escort. "Welcome back miss," the agents said and bowed. Of course, top tier agents had to be given utmost respect. "Thank you. He's in the office right?" She asked them as she reached them. "Yes, He has been waiting," one of them said and walked her into the roof's elevator They landed on the 16th floor of the 16-storey building and the she walked into her boss' office. He had just ended a call when she entered after knocking. "You're late Agent Pierce," the middle-aged man said, looking at his watch. "I had a quick coffee stop," she replied after saluting him. Coffee meant an extra mission. "Coffee, huh," he replied, raising his brows at her to which she smiled. "Seriously, when are you gonna call me Veiled Bride or Bride even? It's always Agent Pierce," she complained pouting. "I've always believed that to be a long name Ella. Anyways, I have a new job for you," he said, relaxing in his chair. "Oh come on! I thought we agreed I get three months off! I've worked so hard these last 6 months, it's high time I got a break," she exclaimed falling onto the couch in his office. "I know, but since you're one of our best agent, you are the right person for this job. Besides, it's more like a vacation than a mission," he tried coaxing her. "What is it?" She asked sounding interested. "Operation High School," he dropped the bomb. She chuckled lightly at that. "What? Is there a student terrorist I need to get rid off?" She asked playfully. "No, it's something a lot easier. I just got off with the Mayor of Brockville, Mayor John, and we've decided that you would be his son's... um... bodyguard," he explained, preparing himself for a verbal attack. "Excuse me?! With all due respect Mr Park, I am not and will never be a bodyguard! What were you thinking telling the Mayor that? I will not step back and be demoted to bodyguard status. I've trained under you since I was 8 and have risen to my status as a Number Five agent. I have earned it every step of the ten years I've worked for you and you suddenly want to discard me? Hell, I just took down the last ally of Death Angel gang, the most dangerous in the city! I'm too skilled to be a bodyguard and you know that. Would you accept to be a bodyguard yourself? Besides. we have people in that department that are good at following people around. Stick with those and pick from them. I will not be a bodyguard," Ella raved. She couldn't believe that after all she's done for Sterling Security Agency, they were super eager to demote her to base level. "Did Agent Kate ask you to do this? Did she convince all of you to kick me out? I know she's never liked me because I'm the youngest of the top-level agents and I'm more beautiful than her but seriously, don't let that fact be the reason I get demoted. Besides, didn't you say I was like a daughter to you? Could you do this to your own daughter? Use your Number Two power and overturn that decision. Just let me have my freaking break! She's had fun selecting my name for missions these past six months. Don't let me be a bodyguard, please," Ella pleaded placing her hands on the table. "Calm down Ella, Kate has nothing to do with this. She's on a mission at the moment so she has no way to interfere with your break. Now, listen to me. You know the Mayor ran against Congressman Burne, the leader of Black Scorpion gang here in Canada. He has been sending threatening messages to the Mayor and recently, his son, Philip, got involved in an accident, courtesy of the Scorpion gang. Luckily, I had sent agents so they were able to save him in time before his car tumbled and exploded. The Mayor is really worried. He doesn't want his son to be harmed because of political war, so he needs the best agent we've got to protect his son. You're fast, quick to spot trouble before it happens, so it's best if you protect him. He can be pretty stubborn for a teenager, the boy I mean, and your tolerance for stupidity is high, so I'm sure you won't kill him on the first day of the job. Also the pay is quite encouraging and we need the money to produce more gadgets and you need it to make more of your little gadgets. It's a win-win. Once you're done, you get to go on a six-month long break. Anywhere you go will be sponsored by us. I give you my word," Mr Lark explained, hoping she would just accept without further questions. He couldn't tell her that Supernaturals were members of the gang and the most threat to the boy. Only she was brave and strong enough for the job, giving her DNA. To explain Supernaturals to her would be to divulge the truth about her parents death and he wasn't ready for that. "Fine, I'll do it. Don't you dare go back on your word or you and I are done. Also highschool? Why do I need to restart my life because of some brat? Can't I just stay in his mansion and look after him when he's home? Besides, I can use bugs to follow him everywhere while I'm chilling in his home," she sighed in resignation, sitting down on the couch. Her boss smiled. "C'mon, highschool ain't that bad. Besides, he wouldn't even notice you in the school because at school, you're a wallflower and at home, his bodyguard. No one must know about it except us four: Philip, Mayor John, you and I. We don't know who's working for the Black Scorpion. Whoever asks in the agency will be told you're on a break, got it? Here's the info you'll need and I'm sure you can get your disguise. Also, cover up your green eyes, it'll draw attention. That's a dead giveaway that you're The Bride," he said and threw her a file which she caught. She sighed and got up. "I can't wait for the six months long vacation. How long will I babysit him for?" she asked. "Just a year. By then, Black Scorpion should have been taken care of," he replied, and began dialing on the phone, signaling the end of the conversation.
