Chapter 21 - Destroy It

I now take back my words that Pixies were a man of their words. Nothing of this would proved they are. They were all talkshi ts, the Empress only uses her mouth rather than her mind. Such a waste of time. If everyone can hear how I hated waiting, they’d probably tell me to endure if for I was the one who needed them. I mean, who cares about it? Was it right to make us wait ‘till morning hoping that someone would come for us? No one came since last night. And even when the time I set, no Pixie showed up to open the gate for us. I’m hungry and angry. My blood boiled thinking of how we fell on their words. It was a trapped and we willingly fell for it. That tall Pixie guy. Even that woman he was with, they were getting into my nerves. The next time my eyes lands on them, I’d waste no time and no one can stop me from punching their ugly faces. How dare they played us. I’m someone who can’t sleep at night when one makes fun of me. I know it’s childish but I will really get back at them, so I could sleep in peace without my insides shaking in rage. I felt so stupid... It was too easy for us to believe them! Dumb, Rani Letisha. You could have done better than swallow the words they have spit. “Rani Letisha, time was up.” I stared at Terran. He looked worn out, even Deniz finally kept his silence. “The problem is we don’t know where the exit,” I told them without hesitation. “I mean, we were here because a Pixie opened the block for us. Now that it’s only us, we still need to find the exit, so we could look for food outside.” “We can just climb,” Deniz suggested. “We’re not hungry, Rani Letisha. The food can wait. Let’s just climb and invade their tower.” “I think Deniz was right, princess. The Pixies didn’t give us an option but climb this gate. We can’t waste any more time waiting for nothing, right? They were just probably playing with us.” My eyes went to the little fairies. They were just settle in the ground, unable to fly due to prostration. Sighing, I everted my gaze and it fell on the huge gate in front of us. The big letters that says Achlys were rusty, dark, and it wasn’t that much visible due to dirt. Even the block looks easy to break with no sweat; it seems too old and perhaps the Empress really doesn’t care about their place anymore because wherever my eyes land, I saw nothing but black. The Achlys is an old-rusty place. Just like the Pixies that settled in this dark realm that has been covered with evilness. Even the Empress... I don’t think they still have chance to change. They’d remain a loser, forever... And in any circumstances, I won’t let them win against us. I know I’ve said that I won’t rely to the incomplete books of history to hate the Pixies. But this wasn’t because of the past but how they treated us poorly. They were not a decent Pixies, that was what I engraved in my heart. If they were, they should have just showed up but they didn’t. Are they afraid of us? Do they feel inferior if they see us? So coward... I’m not even in my territory. People under my name felt intimidated by me, which I always wanted. So, they won’t assume that I’m easy to fool with just because I’m a woman. But now... It was my desperate soul that took over me to let the Pixie played with us. Such a shame, Rani Letisha. I should have known better. “We won’t climb,” I said with gritted teeth. “They deserved more than that. Climbing isn’t enough to pay us for waiting ‘till morning for nothing. Those Pixies deserve to lose a block at least.” “Oh, so you’re saying we’d break it instead?” Terran smirked playfully. Denis chuckled evilly. These guys... They’re still the same who supports me even in the silly things. “You were right... The things our hands touch, we shoudn’t leave it without causing any damage especially if it’s own by the Pixies. A little payback won’t hurt, right?” I felt my insides jump in excitement. Breaking isn’t really my thing but the Pixies literally pissed me off. My patience has been long gone and now that they haven’t show up yet, even after the time I set, then I guess it was the right time to charge them. “Well,” my eyes went to the fairies. “Can you still fly, little fairies? Or you need to rest your wings first?” They quickly shook their heads in chorus. By the look of it, I think these three are in. “Nope, just Letisha. We’re strong enough to break this wall in front of us.” “You’re too small,” Deniz said, teasing her. “You can’t even slap a fly, Tia. Stop lying.” She just rolled her eyes, ignoring his words. “Shut up, Deniz. I wasn’t talking to you.” “Aba...” “Shut up...” The little fairies muttered in chorus which made Deniz zipped his mouth. I uttered a silent thanks. “So, I guess we’ll have to break this rusty gate. It won’t be hard, right?” “Damaging a property owned by our enemies will never be hard, princess.” “Alright, alright...” I took a step backward, glaring at the wall. “Terran and Deniz, I’m giving you one chance to destroy it into pieces. I don’t care whatever power you’d use to break the wall, just do it once.” “Once...” Terran nodded as an agreement. “Of course, we can. Leave it to us, princess.” I know I should think of this thoroughly but I have had enough of the Pixies’s mind games. If they can play, then I’d be glad to join them. A single player is boring after all. We better join to see who among us is the loser or the winner. I grew up being competitive and I won't slip this chance showing the Pixies that Acresians won't back down easily. Besides, I need them. There's no way that I'd give up just because they made us wait. It was just a small thing but they should have at least, inform us they can't make it. If making us wait satisfy them, then perhaps destroying a part of their territory would bring me satisfaction, too. Give and take but I'd choose to give them ten folds to what they pulled. I won't go easy on them. There must be a fair fight but I'm willing to play dirty to get what I wanted. The power of illusion. It's what I desire to acquire. "Alright... Watch us destroy it..." I admit, the guys were also overconfident. We all grew up being competitive. Looking back, I remember when they have chosen to be merciless just to win a challenge, even though I was one of the candidates. They never let me win without going through hell. But at the end, I always bring the victory. I stood in between them, observing the trick they would pull to destroy the gate of the Empress. Terran and Deniz were strong even before. These days, our powers were just hidden for we don't have something to use it for. Unless it was a massive war, we will really hide nothing. We'll show everything... Even the deepest secret of our powers to take down the enemies. "Step aside, Rani Letisha..." They both commanded as they slowly closes their eyes, getting ready to attack. I didn't argue anymore. I left the scene and settled to the side where the little Fairies were, both were just waiting. "This is just a piece of cake but they looked so serious," Rin spoke with her confused voice. Show off... That's what they like. To show off. "These are the leaders of the Sidhe and Nixie; Terran who has the power over the underground, and Deniz who can manipulate the ocean." "I think the leader of the Sidhe's power is the only ability that would work to destroy the gate of the Empress, don't you think?" Zah's voice was filled with curiosity after hearing Rin's statement. I don't think so... Deniz holds power over the water. Whatever it is, from lake to ocean, he can do impossible things only he can. After all, he is the Prince of the Nixie. For Terran, we do have the same ability to control the nature. We both hold the power over the land, but he works underneath and has the sense to tell the calamity that would come for us. He can control the ground, break it into two and another thing, he has the power to take back the time to change something for the past seconds. Yet he doesn't usually use it for a reason. Even if he wanted to, he can't. What has been done in the past would remain as it is or else, everything will change. Something he really don’t want to happen to avoid confusion. I felt the wind slap through our skin. It was rough and it stings which we didn’t bother. The little fairies quickly hide inside of my clothes’ pockets as the wind blows. Slowly, it was getting windy. My attention were just fixed on the two. My eyes squints to fight the air from hurting my kins, but still manage to see what’s happening in the middle. What the f uck. They will just destroy the wall but why am I seeing more?! I was about to shout when I heard a chuckle. I knew it was from one of them. A blue trident tattoo slowly form on Deniz’s sleeve. It was glowing and covered his whole arm, and honestly, I’m amazed. It never failed to amaze me. It was beautiful... The symbol of his leadership, the trident, his weapon as the Prince of the Nixie, the water. Deniz’s eyes opened and it become its color stand out. Deep blue ocean eyes that represent his region... Indeed, he was the Prince of the ocean. “Wow...” I heard Zah. “I have never seen this before and now that I do, I can say that these two really has the charisma. No wonder why they were chosen...” “You were right,” it was Tia. “I always wondered what comes out to them once they call their gods. Now that it’s here, it was utterly beautiful.” Among them, only Rin witnessed how monster these two in the battle field. She was there with me when we were still teens, training to make ourselves better in our own field. So, she wasn’t surprised seeing it again for the nth time. As even before when we were still training together, the two always flex their amazing form. Meanwhile, Terran remains unmoving. But we could feel something underneath. Small stones started to elevate in the air, and even the wind was now strong. Our hair was swaying backwards as the wind blows. That made me a little bit confused. Alistair possess the cloud, and even the air. He has the power over it. Terran and Deniz can’t... and whenever they showed their powers, air will remain the same. Does it mean that Alistair... I immediately shook my head in disapproval. He can’t be here. My blood boil thinking of him. After he refused to help me, he still has the audacity to show his face? I knew he has the right to refuse but somehow, he was the last person I have expected to say no. “Why does it look like they were about to break the entire Achlys rather than the wall of the Empress?” Rin commented. I don’t know what has gotten into their minds. They will just break it! Just the wall... “Do we need to stop them, Rani Letisha? They seems out of control. I don’t feel good about what to come.” “No,” I said firmly. “Let them, Rin. They won’t do something that would anger me. Not in this situation. No...” I trust them. They were still sane when I last talk to them. Well, I hope so... “I trust them, Rin. They won’t ruin my plans.” “You said so...” We both fell in silence and yet the surroundings sounds too loud. It was in chaos... The gray stones and even the blue glacier that surrounds Deniz, added the strong current of winds, was chaotic.
