39 The moment we passed by that cemetery the beginnings of a plan came to my mind. It turned out that Ariadne owned a Brookline row house not far from the neighborhood where I’d grown up, and that was where we were going to stay that night. On our way there, I caught a glimpse of the cemetery where my family no doubt had been buried, and I took note of its location relative to our destination. Our destination was a tall and distinguished row house, complete with four floors connected by a tall marble staircase.
