Chapter 7

Dinner was interesting. Isabelle explained the different races to my crew with help from Daisy and Sam. Jackson helped with the Undead where it was needed. At some point Phillip joined us and was having a drink with Jackson. My crew listened as they attempted to eat. Daryl of course ignored everyone and ate with relish. That pleased Gretchen when she checked on us. I hadn’t said much throughout their explanations. I listened to Isabelle with rapt attention as she explained the Fae. They were another catch all category for the magically inclined. Anyone that didn’t fit in the other classes fell under Fae. She and Jasper were Elementals, like their parents. There were also Brownies like Gretchen, Sprites like Luther, Selkies, Pixies, Gremlins, Goblins, and Other. She didn’t explain the others to us but she explained about herself and Luther. Jasper whispered into my ear that he would explain anything else to me later. I nodded and listened to Isabelle. “Brownies are very loyal even though they like to cause mischief at times. They only ever pledge themselves to someone who they believe is worthy of their talents and time. That’s why Gretchen and her family pledging themselves to Angel is so significant. They are very selective in whom they trust and even more so with whom they will pledge themselves.” Now it hit me. Gretchen and her family pledged themselves to me because they felt I was worthy to be a part of their lives. I smiled as Jasper massaged my thigh. It was a bigger honor than I thought. I would have to speak to Gretchen and express my gratitude. “Ok so I get that there is a whole community that we know nothing about. Hell we’re used to hiding and not letting ourselves be known. But what does all that have to do with our Angel, other than being a part of it.” Jake sounded curious but I could tell he was pissed. Jeremy sighed. “Our community, for lack of a better word, has different customs than the human world. We have mates that are destined by the Goddess herself. We don’t control who we are paired with, She chooses for us.” “Ok so you’re Angel’s mate?” Sara looked at Jeremy for confirmation. “I am. However, she has more than one mate.” Everyone stared at me in shock, the entire crew. I sighed, “apparently, I’m part of an ancient prophecy. I will unite our world and as such will have a mate from each race.” Brooks whistled low. “That can’t be easy.” Daisy piped up. “It is fate. My lady is the strongest wiccan that has ever been. She will need her mates to help her unite us all so we can all live peacefully together.” When she said together, she looked at Sam lovingly. Sam took over then, “you see the races don’t intermingle. This has caused some of us to go without mates for a long time. It’s against the rules for any of us to take a mate outside our own race. Angel will change all of that.” “No.” Every pair of eyes in the room landed on Jake. “I’m not giving her to all these guys. I don’t care what anyone says. She’s my sister and I didn’t want to give her to wolf man here anyway. I’m not ok with giving her over to anyone else.” “Jake.” My voice was soft as I looked at a very upset Jake. “It isn’t up to any of us who I’m meant to be with. I found Jeremy in Germany and that kicked everything into gear. The prophecy is going to happen whether I like it or not. It’s not just about me this time. I have to do this for everyone. Daisy is a wiccan like myself, but Sam is a lycan like Jeremy. Roy just found his mate tonight and she’s a Fae but he’s another lycan. If I don’t do this, they can’t be together.” I tried to appeal to him the best I could. “Ok so you unite the races or whatever and not take on a harem in the process.” Sara glared at Jake as he crossed his arms over his chest. “Jake.” His name came out a little sharper than I intended. “I have already found more than one mate. I love Jeremy and Jackson. I just found Jasper but I can’t imagine a life without him. It’s none of your business who I have or don’t.” Sara nodded. “Angel’s right Jake. Who she sleeps with is up to her. She didn’t have a problem with us at all. As long as we were happy then she was happy for us.” I smiled at Sara as she tried to reason with Jake as well. I could see him shut down in front of me. I sighed and shook my head. That seemed to upset Jake more. “Are you kidding me? So you’re telling me that you’re ok with multiple boyfriends?” I gave Jake a sharp look as my anger started to rise. “Jake. Whether I’m ok with it or not, it’s happening. I found three mates already. Hell I tied my soul to Jackson’s already!” “What?” Sara looked scared as she asked. I began to try to calm myself before my magic lashed out again. Thankfully Jackson answered for me. “Well we had an issue earlier today with Angel’s powers. She sort of lost control. In the process of us trying to calm her and help her rein in her power, I was mortally wounded.” I felt Jasper squeeze my thigh while Jeremy rubbed my back. They were trying to help me calm myself as well. “But you look fine to me.” Brooks looked Jackson over as he stood. I felt his hand on my shoulder as he joined the effort. “I am now. When our little one saw me lying in a pool of blood, it helped her regain her control. Unfortunately, my spirit had already left my body. So my love reached into the after life to retrieve me. The spirit world can be confusing so it is difficult to leave it. She tied my soul and hers together so I could remain with her. Between her magic and blood, I was fully healed and brought back to the living world.” I looked up at Jackson as he so calmly explained to everyone that I killed him then brought him back. He smiled down at me lovingly as tears welled in my eyes. Do not cry my love. I am fine. I am still here with you and that is all that matters. I love you little one. I love you too Jackson. I’m glad we’re tied together. I smiled at him. He winked and turned his attention back to my crew. I looked over at Jake. He seemed to be thinking about what I said. Probably more what Jackson had said but it was a start. Sara was staring at me with pride. I smiled at her and nodded. Her smile widened as I confirmed what Jackson told her. Brooks and Lee looked impressed. L and Olesia were quietly crying. Jason and Tony were all smiles as they watched me. I turned to L and Olesia. “That is the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.” Olesia looked at me as she answered my unspoken question. L was nodding in agreement. “It really is.” Sara sounded dreamy. “Fine. But just so everyone knows I’m not ok with giving her away to all of these so called mates.” Jake grumpily stated. I couldn’t help the smile on my face. “Jake. No matter how many others come into my life, you are my brother. I will always have room for you in my heart.” Jake slumped as he realized how childish he was being. He just nodded and waved me off. Jackson squeezed my shoulder. “I promise to always protect her. She is my life, even without our souls tied together. I would do anything for her. Her happiness is my number one priority.” “So you really are her number one fan.” Brooks had to make a joke. I rolled my eyes at him as Jackson laughed. “I suppose so.” “Wait a sec Jack. You have some competition there. Jasper and I might want to throw our hat in for number one.” Jeremy teased Jackson. “I don’t care what any of you say. I’m her number one fan. She feeds me.” Daryl stated sleepily. We all laughed then. Sam and Luther had to help Daryl up to his room after that. Isabelle and Daisy trialed along behind them giggling. Gretchen was so happy that she was able to fill Daryl’s stomach. We all tried to help her and the family clean up but she shooed us away. We all ended up on the front porch relaxing. I was sitting on Jasper’s lap after a little pushing between my guys. Jeremy was leaning against the railing watching me. Jackson was sitting next to us on the bench. Everyone else spread out to the other chairs. I smiled as I saw Sara on Jake’s lap, L on Brooks’ lap, and Olesia on Lee’s lap. Tony and Jason were out in the front yard trying to name the stars. “Well no offense boss lady but I’m beat. I’m going to bed. L, you coming?” She smiled and linked hands with Brooks as they took off. “I think we will too, if that’s alright?” I smiled at Olesia as her and Lee left as well. “Were we that bad?” I heard Jake ask Sara. “Worse.” I answered instead. Jake and Sara laughed. “Alright. We’re headed to bed too. We all ended up in the biggest house. The four bedroom one right there. Only two bathrooms but we’ve worked it out.” Jake chuckled as he showed me the one they picked. “You know that there is more than one home. You could have all had a bathroom to yourselves.” Sarcasm was thick in my voice. “It’s fine. Sara takes the longest in the bathroom so we’re sharing with Jason and Tony. They take enough time to get clean and they’re done.” Jake laughed as Sara drug him off the porch and away. I laughed as I heard her telling him she doesn’t take that long. We all knew she was lying. I looked at Jeremy and he was even laughing at their exchange. Without a word Jasper gathered me up and stood. Jeremy and Jackson followed us into the house. I waved to Jason and Tony before we disappeared into the home. I wasn’t paying attention to where we were going but I was happy to be alone with them. I closed my eyes and enjoyed being in Jasper’s arms. I heard a door open and I realized we weren’t going up the stairs. I opened my eyes and looked around. We were in a bedroom with an oversized bed against the far wall. Jasper put me on my feet so I could explore. The bed was humongous, all of us could fit in it spread out and still have room. I noticed my luggage empty by a door. I opened it to reveal a walk in closet. All of my clothes were either hung up or folded neatly on one of the shelves. I saw my shoes on another shelf next to the clothes. This room was big for just me. It seemed a little empty with just my clothes in here. The other side of the closet was bare. I turned around to all three men watching me. I was so curious about this room. “My mother had a dream a few years before they left here. She saw this room and claimed the Goddess wanted her to create it in our home. Isabelle and I laughed at her but our father told us to let her do as she pleased. It has been shut up for a little while. Isabelle said she knew when she met you that this was meant to be yours.” Jasper gave me a small smile and shrugged. “It’s beautiful. How did she know my favorite color though.” I looked at the bed and noticed the different shades of red on it. I was amazed that she got everything exactly to my tastes. The furniture in the room was cherry wood even. Jasper shrugged and looked around. “She said this is how it looked in her dream. The Goddess wanted it to be exactly as she was shown. That closet is yours. We share a closet over there. There are five designated areas in it for each of us. The bathroom is through that door.” I looked at the closest door to my closet that he pointed to. I went to it and opened the door. I gasped as I saw an enormous room. There was a huge shower in the far corner. It was big enough for ten people. There were shelves built into the tile for everyone to have a spot for their soap. Next to that was a small table with black towels rolled and stacked on top of each other. Under the table was a basket for dirty towels. I saw a slot in the wall behind the table that housed wash clothes rolled as the towels were. Next to the shower was a tub. It looked like a jacuzzi I had seen once. Eight people could fit in it. This one looked like it could accommodate that many or more. I turned around and saw a counter running on half the wall. There were five sinks on it with a place to hang a hand towel for each sink. I smiled as I saw each sink had a different color towel. It was set up for all my mates. I looked at the two doors next to the counter. They both led to a toilet. We had two? I turned to Jasper with my eyebrow raised. He just shrugged. That’s when I noticed a single vanity by the door. It had a sink as well and a place for me to sit. I saw my curlers set up on the lower part of the counter. I had my own sink and counter? I couldn’t help the amazement from showing as I looked around. Jasper’s mom had this made? This was amazing and prefect for me. I started to cry as the happiness swelled inside me. Jeremy wrapped me in his arms first. I giggled as he nuzzled my neck. Jackson was smiling as he watched me. Jasper looked worried. “This is more than I could ever dream of. It’s prefect. I really need to meet your mother now. I have to thank her for this incredible room and bathroom.” Jasper smiled then. “She’ll be happy that it’s finally being used. Dad was frustrated when she started adding onto the downstairs taking away one of our guest bedrooms. She also took his office next to the bedroom for the bathroom.” I giggled as I rushed into Jasper’s arms. He caught me laughing. I kissed him on both cheeks as he carried me back into the bedroom. I noticed then that on the opposite side of the room from the bed was a sitting area. There were two over stuffed couches and a tv screen on the wall. This room had everything. I saw a stereo system next to the tv, my music was already sitting on a little table next to it. “I was worried when Isabelle told me this was our room. I didn’t know if you’d want to stay here or not.” Jasper looked into my eyes with concern. “Jasper.” I infused as much love into his name as I could. “I’m honored that your mother built this just for us. She had no clue why but she did it anyway. This is the prefect home for us. As long as everyone else agrees.” “Of course my love. Jasper showed this to us when Isabelle took you on a tour of the home. Jay and I agreed that this was prefect. We are willing to live here with you for as long as you want.” I looked to Jeremy. He nodded and smiled. I jumped from Jasper’s arms, which caused him to laugh. I ran to Jackson first and crashed my lips onto his. I poured my love and happiness into our kiss. I broke away and jumped into Jeremy’s arms. He kissed me before I had the chance to kiss him. I broke the kiss breathless. Jasper pulled me from Jeremy and spun me into his arms for a kiss. The passion in his kiss set a fire in my belly. I broke away as a knock sounded on the door. I pouted as they laughed. I hated being interrupted. Jeremy shook his head as Jackson answered the door. Jake stood at the door with a panicked look on his face. My blood ran cold as I felt the dread settle in my mind. Something was wrong.
