Chapter 5

The rage burning through me could not be quenched. Everyone looked at me from the floor. I looked at my hands and they were glowing brighter than ever. I could feel my magic pulsing inside of me like another heartbeat. I stood behind the desk trying to calm myself to no avail. “Magnificent.” I heard Jasper whisper in awe. I walked around the desk and started toward the center of the room. How dare he? I was the best he had. How could he do this to me? I wanted to fight. I wanted blood and death. I will destroy them all. “Bloodlust.” I heard Jackson but it wasn’t registering that the others were talking. My blood was boiling in my rage. I didn’t notice Jasper and Jeremy approaching me from the front. The chaos in my mind was all I could focus on. I was about to send a pulse of power out when I felt someone grab me. Before I could react teeth sunk into my shoulder. I cried out as my magic threw the offender from me. I whirled around to see Jackson unconscious on the floor blood pouring out of his stomach. The shock broke through my rage. I rushed to his side as tears fell from my eyes. “Jackson. I’m so sorry.” I choked on my apology as I sliced my wrist open on a shard of the broken mirror. When did I break that? “Please be alright.” I put my bleeding wrist against his mouth and begged. I couldn’t lose him. The tears fell freely as I prayed. I held his head in my lap and closed my eyes. I felt my magic envelope both of us as I sobbed. Don’t take him from me. Please. “Cover your eyes!” I heard Phillip shouting at the others. My power pulsed and I gasped as I felt my soul reach out to Jackson. I could feel his soul reach for mine. Our souls began to intertwine. I opened my eyes and stared down at him. His eyes were open and he was smiling at me. I allowed him to pull me into his arms and hold me as I clung to him. “I am wholly yours now my love.” I heard his soft voice in my ear. “What just happened?” Jasper asked the room. Daisy answered since I couldn’t. “My lady went into a blood rage. It is common among us when our emotions become too overwhelming. Our magic will react, trying to cause destruction. When she saw Jackson was hurt, her love for him broke through the blood rage.” “He was dead. His spirit had left his body.” Phillip sounded scared. “Our little one brought me back. She wove her soul with mine. She has forever connected us. I am hers in every way.” I pulled back to look into Jacksons eyes as he stated this so calmly. The worry must have shown on my face because he smiled at me and caressed my cheek. I didn’t know I had done that. How is that possible? “It’s alright my love. I wasn’t ready to leave you either. Thank you for bringing me back to you. I know you don’t understand what happened or how you managed to tie our souls together, but I’m glad you did. I never want to be apart from you, even in our afterlife.” I couldn’t speak so I crashed my lips onto his. Our kiss was hungrier than ever. I couldn’t get enough of him. Just knowing that he was alive and breathing was pure bliss. Jackson couldn’t seem to get enough of me either as he pulled me closer to him. I had to break our kiss to breath. I still didn’t let him go, I clung to him catching my breath. I placed my forehead on his and sighed. “I don’t know what would have happened if I lost you. I love you so much Jackson.” “Shhh my love. You will never lose me. I am yours even when death takes me. My entire existence is yours.” I heard someone clear their throat behind me. “Now that everyone is alive and in control, we might want to figure out what we’re going to do now that humans are on their way.” Sam brought up the problem, I hadn’t even thought of. “Luther and I can help there. We have plenty of room for everyone.” Isabelle’s cheerful voice drew my gaze. “I couldn’t put you out like that Isabelle. It’s going to be a lot with just those of us here, let alone my crew as well.” “Oh please. We’re family. And I would be honored to have your family join us. I want to meet them anyway. I have to thank them for taking care of you until we found you!” Isabelle’s eyes lit up with excitement. She even jumped up and down a few times. “I appreciate it Isabelle. We would be honored to be your guests. I just need to warn you that my crew doesn’t know about our world other than myself and Jeremy. I didn’t think it was my secret to tell so I kept most of this from them.” “Wonderful! We can introduce them to our cultures too. Oh I have to get everything ready. Luther, we have to go now. I have so much to do!” Isabelle squealed as she drug her husband from the room. Jasper chuckled, “well you made her day.” I smiled and shook my head. I had so much to do. “Let’s get packed up and moved. I’ll work on transport for my crew once we know where we’re going.” “I can pick them up.” Daryl offered. “We’ll need a bus.” Roy laughed “Hey. A van will work, without their luggage.” I laughed. “We’ll pack up our room chere. Jasper can help Daryl with your crew once they get in. He knows where to go.” “I will most certainly take care of your family.” Jasper winked at me. I just shook my head as Jackson stood with me in his arms. “Let’s go pack the food up. I have a feeling that will be a colossal chore.” Daryl laughed as we headed to the kitchen. It took Jackson, Daryl, and I to pack all of the food. Phillip and Roy took box after box out to the truck we had. I had bought a truck and van to help us while we lived here. We were about to pack up the fridge and freezer when I realized we needed coolers. Daryl offered to pick some up while they were out. Sam and Daisy came down with their bags as we walked out of the kitchen. “I’m assuming the truck is already packed with food.” Sam was looking right at Daryl. “Oh it is. Doll you really need to stop letting Daryl go to the store.” Roy laughed as he walked in. I giggled. “He has to keep up his strength. Sam, do you know where we’re going?” “Yeah. I can take Daisy in the truck. I’ll probably need help unloading though.” The laughter in his voice made me happy. “Daryl will be joining you. He has to get a few coolers for the stuff in the fridge and freezer anyway.” “Wait. There’s more?” Phillip looked at me shocked. Sam and Roy doubled over laughing. Daryl just shrugged and went out to the truck. Daisy followed him with Sam on her heels still laughing. “I’m going to pack my stuff Doll. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though.” “Noted Roy.” I laughed as he took the stairs two at a time. Phillip shook his head and followed Roy. I turned to Jackson to see him staring at me with a smile on his face. I looked at him curiously. “You never cease to amaze me my love. The way you take everything in stride with grace and a smile. Most people would have a stroke when trying to pay the bill for all of us. But you act as though everything is fine, no matter the cost.” “Jackson.” I looked lovingly at his prideful expression. “Money means nothing to me. I have tons of it. I never really spent any of my earnings before. Even if I didn’t have an abundance of it, I wouldn’t care. What’s most important to me is those in my life. As long as those I love and care about are taken care of, that’s all I need. My family has grown and I’m thankful. Even if Daryl eats enough for an army.” We both laughed, “Well chere, he definitely loves having you around.” Jeremy and Jasper were descending the stairs with my luggage and their own. “Don’t worry Jack, I packed yours too. I knew it would take a while in the kitchen. Daryl has been so happy lately with all the food. He told me that if I ever decide to reject you, he’ll kill me.” I laughed out loud and wrapped my arms around Jeremy. “I don’t think that will be a problem wolfie. You’re stuck with me.” He smiled and pulled me closer. “So when are you going to tie my soul to yours too?” “Um…I’m not sure how I did that honestly. I just refused to lose Jackson. I guess we could figure it out though. If you want our souls intertwined as well my wolf.” His eyes lit up and he nodded vigorously. I giggled and nodded. I looked at Jasper. He was watching our exchange with a thoughtful expression. “I believe it is possible to connect souls together without an incident like earlier. I’ll have to talk with Isabelle, she would know more than I. Or maybe your little wiccan would know. However, I would like to wait before we weave our spirits together.” “Don’t worry Jasper, I would never force anything on you. I don’t expect my mates to tie themselves to me on a spiritual level like that. I felt bad for doing it to Jackson. Even though he was happy I did.” Jasper nodded and helped Jackson load our bags into the van. I returned to the library to survey the damage I had done. I saw Justin standing in the doorway to the library shaking his head. Jeremy sighed and pulled me to him. “Well that’s a pity. This was a nice room.” Justin didn’t sound sad, more suspicious than anything. “Is it that bad?” The sadness in my voice was genuine. I loved that room. “Everything is pretty much destroyed. Other than the desk of course.” Justin looked at me and motioned to the room. I took a deep breath to steel myself and walked into the room. Nothing could prepare me though. I gasped as I looked around the room. The books were no longer on their shelves. All of the furniture was tossed about the room and possibly broken. He was right that the only thing still intact was the desk I had been seated at. My heart broke as I tried to control my grief. I felt my magic swell inside of me, responding to my emotions. Maybe I can fix this. I turned to look at Justin and Jeremy. They were watching me closely. I made up my mind then, I’m going to fix this. I went to the center of the room and sat down. I got in a meditative position with my legs crossed. I closed my eyes as I reached for my magic. I wasn’t sure what I was doing but I had to do something. Ignoring the men at the door, I began to envision the room as it was. I could feel my power pulse inside of me once before spreading into the room. I concentrated on a section of the room at a time. One book shelf at a time. I envisioned the books filling the shelves. I could feel movement around me as I heard pages ruffling. I didn’t let it distract me as I moved through the room in my mind. Once I had finished with the books I sectioned off the furniture in my head the way it had been. Each chair, table, and sofa. I saw the chess table with all of the pieces set up for a game. I smiled to myself as I felt my power flare out momentarily. I wasn’t sure how long I was at it, but when I opened my eyes the room was more or less intact. I also noticed a group of men by the door. The mirror was still broken and a couple chairs as well. Everything was back in place though. The shelves were filled with books, a little worse for wear. Roy walked around the walls admiring the clean up. I smiled faintly as I looked around. “Wow Doll. This is amazing!” “Somethings are still broken though. I was hoping I could fix them.” I could hear the disappointment in my voice. “You can’t fix everything sweetheart. It’s amazing that you were able to do this much.” The pride in Jasper’s voice made me smile sheepishly. “He’s right doll. A few broken things is no big deal. It happens.” Roy shrugged and left the room. I stood and looked at Jackson and Jeremy, they both smiled at me proudly. Justin was staring at me intensely. I squirmed a little under his gaze. He seemed to be trying to figure something out about me. I cleared my throat and walked to the doorway. Phillip gave me a thumbs up and I smiled. They were all proud of me. My heart soared as I allowed Jeremy to pick me up. He carried me bridal style to the van. I cuddled close and tried to enjoy my little victory in the library. “Alright. All aboard the Roy express!” Roy was in the driver seat waving us over. I giggled as we all loaded into the van. “Safety first! Buckle up.” Roy laughed at his own joke as he pulled out. There was no way for us to buckle up since we were crushed together in the back. Justin laughed from the front seat as Phillip mocked Roy. Off we went for a new adventure together.
