Chapter 31
Pari returns to Apapane Ring as dusk approaches. For the first time in days, there are no satellite trucks on the cobblestone lane nor reporters on the sidewalks. In the center park Katerina Rivera and Gabriel Beaumont are eating primavera pasta and drinking wine coolers on a table they have covered with a checkered yellow and white cloth. Katerina waves at Pari and Gabriel motions for her to join them.
"You caught us planning our next strategy session," Katerina jokes.
"We continue our quest to get our best friends married," Gabriel adds. "Despite the tragedies, we have not given up on them tying the knot. But it's a great deal of work to keep the dream alive, unfortunately."
