Chapter 14Emma and Alex Rigby were watching a film on the television when they heard the Lexus pull up. They were on their feet and in the hallway before Johnny could put his key in the door.
“Daddy's home,” they called out simultaneously to Bee who was in the kitchen. She stopped what she was doing and she too made her way to greet him.
“Daddy, Daddy,” the children cried, launching themselves at him before he could properly get through the door.
“Mummy's making hot chocolate,” Alex said excitedly.
“With marshmallows,” Emma added.
“Aw, I wanted to tell Daddy about the marshmallows,” Alex whined.
“Now, now no bickering,” Johnny chided. “Where's Marie?” he asked Bee hoping the au pair would give them some respite so they could talk alone for ten minutes.
“She's having the night off,”
