Chapter 7 The Kid's Fury

835 Words
With his duck-patterned backpack, Jasper stood in Century Square, ready to take the first step in rescuing his mom! Susan always treated him like a kid who knew nothing, not letting him join the rescue mission. So, early that morning, he snuck out while Susan was still asleep. He was going to save his mom all by himself to prove he wasn't just a little kid! Full of determination, Jasper was about to approach a kind-looking lady to ask if she'd seen his mom when a group of black-clad bodyguards suddenly surrounded him. "Mr. Orion, we finally found you." The team leader, Andy, approached, scooping Jasper into his arms with a sigh of relief. "How did you get to the city all by yourself? You can't do this again. Mr. Chesterfield was very worried!" "Let me go!" Jasper struggled, kicking his legs like a fish out of water. "I need to find my mom!" Andy felt his head throb. "Oh, come on, mister. You know Mr. Chesterfield doesn't like it when you mention your mom." The origins of Mr. Orion Chesterfield were a mystery. Chandler had a severe germaphobia and was repulsed by any woman! He couldn't recall ever sleeping with one. Yet, one morning, a cradle appeared at the Autumn Mansion's doorstep, and a newborn baby was lying inside. There was also a note claiming he was Chandler's son. Chandler didn't believe it initially and intended to ignore it, but Phill insisted the child was a Chesterfield. Under his pressure, Chandler had the baby undergo a DNA test, which confirmed Orion was indeed his son! Chandler conducted nearly ten tests, all with the same result, so he kept the baby. The child's mother's identity and the circumstances of his birth were shrouded in rumors, but any mention of these topics enraged Chandler. Over time, the subject of Mrs. Chesterfield became taboo within the family. Andy brought Jasper back to Autumn Mansion, where Chandler stood with a stern look. He glared at Jasper, restraining his fury. "Orion, your behavior is becoming intolerable!" Jasper looked up, recognizing the man who had kidnapped his mom at the airport. He had been trying to find him, yet this evil man actually showed up! In a burst of inspiration fueled by countless superhero cartoons, Jasper wiggled out of Andy's grasp, charged at Chandler, and bit down on his hand. "Bad guy, give me back my mom!" Everyone froze in shock. No one could believe the usually stoic and reserved Orion had bitten Chandler! They all knew that Orion was so afraid of MChandler that he'd cower at a mere glance. Yet today, he didn't admit his mistake and even called Chandler a bad guy. Even worse, he mentioned his mom again! Chandler's face turned thunderous, terrifying everyone present. Charlie rushed over, scooped up Jasper, and covered his mouth to prevent him from saying anything more to anger Chandler. "Sir, please calm down. Mr. Orion must be in shock. I'll take him away and teach him properly. He's just returned, please don't punish him further," Charlie pleaded. Chandler's expression remained grim. "Shock? He looks perfectly fine to me. Lock him up until he acknowledges his mistake. He's not to leave his room until then." Jasper protested, but with his mouth covered, his words were muffled and unintelligible. Charlie hurriedly carried him away, afraid the boy would say something worse. After Charlie left, Samuel Timbers, who had witnessed everything, seemed rather shocked. He was Chandler's close friend and knew Orion very well. Orion was basically the mini version of his dad, with the same poker face and icy demeanor. When had he ever become so... lively? Samuel couldn't help but comment, "Orion's behavior is really unusual today. We should have a doctor check him out. I've warned you before that children are sensitive, and too much stimulation can lead to mental health issues. Your family does have a history of..." He cut himself off as Chandler's icy gaze silenced him. Mental illness was another taboo in Autumn Mansion. "I didn't ask you here to tell me how to raise my child." Chandler threw a file at Samuel's face. Samuel caught the file and grumbled, "I'm just concerned about Orion." The file contained Aurelia's personal information, meticulously detailing every aspect of her life, from her birth hospital to her elementary school grades! Chandler had only spent half a day investigating Aurelia's documented history. Samuel skimmed through the file, pausing at her education. "Wow, an Oxford Medical School graduate. Who is this girl? Your new girlfriend?" "Can't you think about anything other than romance?" Chandler glanced at him in disdain and scoffed. "This woman is connected to Dr. Jotherin. I want you to hire her as a neurosurgeon at your hospital." Samuel's eyes widened. "But she's a cardiologist." Chandler didn't answer, his eyes darkening. Aurelia was indeed a cardiologist, but Jotherin was a neurosurgeon. "No more questions. Just do as I say." This move of his will definitely make her reveal her identity!
