Chapter 8 Unbelievable Wealth

807 Words
On the weekend, Aurelia took her son to check on the houses in Celestara District. Known as a haven for the wealthy, Celestara District was just behind Autumn Mansion and Veridion Hall in terms of prime locations. Owning property here was a status symbol, a sign of wealth and power in Marquessa Prime! The real estate agent, Andrew Kingsley, enthusiastically showed Aurelia and her son around the luxurious villas, extolling the features of each property. As they were engrossed in their search, an unwelcome voice interrupted. "Aurelia? Can't believe I ran into you again! I thought Mr. Chesterfield had thrown you into the river in a sack. But here you are, escaping yet again. What luck!" Without turning, Aurelia recognized the annoying voice. It was Isabella! "Andrew, let's go inside," Aurelia said, not bothering to look back. "There's a dog barking out here non-stop. What a bummer." Isabella's face darkened with rage. She was accompanied by several wealthy ladies from the neighborhood. If Aurelia humiliated her in front of them, how could she maintain her status? "Checking on these houses? You must be joking. These properties are thousands of dollars per square foot. Can you even afford it?" Isabella sneered. "Andrew, don't waste your time. She's a pauper. She probably can't even afford a bathroom here, let alone a villa!" The wealthy ladies laughed along with Isabella, making her feel increasingly triumphant. Aurelia's expression turned cold. She preferred to stay low-key, but Isabella kept pestering her, making the whole situation unbearable. She couldn't back down now, especially not in front of Jasper! "Andrew, which is the most expensive villa here?" Aurelia asked calmly. Andrew hesitated and then quickly checked his notes. "That would be Villa Number Seven on the west side. It covers over five thousand square feet and has three bedrooms, two living rooms, a private cinema, a study, a private gym, and a large rooftop pool, perfect for sunbathing or pool parties! However, it's a bit pricy. The total price is 180 million, and if it's your first time purchasing a residence, you can pay 20%..." Before he could finish, Aurelia interrupted, "I'll take it!" She pulled out her bank card and handed it to Andrew. "Full payment." Everyone was stunned! Isabella's eyes nearly popped out of her head. Though Celestara District was filled with riches, many residents' assets were either fixed or circling in investments. Except for the Four Great Families, who were super wealthy, few could casually afford 180 million at once. Isabella also lived in this neighborhood, but her villa was in a rather secluded spot. It was basically the worst in Celestara District, yet it still cost Leon over 60 million dollars. Even then, Leon had hesitated. Without her insistence, they'd still be living in the old, shabby Dotton Manor! Aurelia was a poor single mother. Where did she get so much money? She must be bluffing, and in reality, she didn't even have a single penny! "Aurelia, you're such a pretender," Isabella sneered. "Are you planning to scam us and run away with your kid? This little trick won't fool me. If you've got the money, pay up right here and now. You wanna pay 180 million with that card? I bet you don't even have eight thousand bucks!" Aurelia raised an eyebrow. "What if you lose the bet?" "I'll give you my head to play soccer with!" "Nah, I don't want my shoes to be stained." Aurelia looked disdainful. "Keep your head! What I'm after is the Dotton Manor. If you lose, give it back to me!" Isabella trembled with rage. "Fine! But if you lose, you'll crawl out of Celestara District like a dog!" "Deal!" They signed an agreement, and Andrew led Aurelia to complete the transaction. Isabella was annoyed by Aurelia's composed look. She taunted again, "Still pretending? It seems you're good at acting. You'd better use your acting skills when you crawl like a dog. If it's not convincing, you'll have to do it again." The wealthy ladies laughed, waiting for the show. No one believed a young girl could have 180 million in liquid assets. But after they arrived at the bank, the teller instantly treated Aurelia like royalty. "Ms. Dotton, your card is our bank's Supreme Black Card, one of only ten in the world. You have a billion dollars in your account. This transaction will leave you with 820 million dollars!" Everyone was stunned again. Not only did Aurelia have 10 billion in liquid assets, but she also held a Supreme Black Card. The amount of assets was not the only standard for applying this card, and only a few top elites worldwide could get them. Even in the Hanoria, only the heads of the Four Great Families had such a card! What is her true identity? Why does she have this card?!
