"I don't know why he's staring at me. We've been locked in a storm for almost two minutes now. I went up to the rooftop to be alone, and I didn't expect him to be there. I found him seated at the side, gazing at me.
I was about to close the door when he suddenly called out to me.
"Hey! Come here." He gestured for me to approach, and I furrowed my brow. I bit my lower lip and closed the door before slowly walking towards him. He acts like he's the king, giving orders.
"W-What?" I didn't know why I stuttered, but I cursed myself for that. Why am I intimidated by him?
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Maureen," I replied. I fidgeted with my hands and stopped about a meter away from him. He nodded in acknowledgment, and then he walked towards me, causing me to take a step back. I gasped when he grabbed my face and examined it. He was so close that I could hardly breathe.
He pulled down my hood and touched my hair. I pushed him away when he suddenly smelled my hair. What a p*****t!
"What do you think you're doing?!" I gasped.
"I'm going to a party, and you'll be my date." He said casually, as if I owe him something. My jaw dropped, and I blinked rapidly.
"Are you insane? What made you think I'll go with you?!" I hissed. He held my arm tightly, and I gritted my teeth as it started to hurt. I glared at him, but he just coldly stared back.
"Trust me, I can get anything I want." He hissed. I gasped when he suddenly pushed me, and I ended up sitting on the floor from the force of his push. He looked at me blankly before leaving me on the rooftop. I let out a sigh of frustration.
He's the one forcing me, and yet he acts like he's angry?!!
"D*mn him." I hissed, looking at my hand with a few scratches. Tsk.
"What should I do? The Zekovia's party is coming up." I glanced at Monique. Her right hand is in a cast, and she still has some bruises. She's having difficulty walking, so I'm supporting her.
"What party?" I asked. She sighed.
"It's Madam Wilhelmina's birthday, Waldrin's grandma and the owner of the University." She said. I almost laughed; Madam SC is getting older again. She'll be even grumpier.
But, is that the party Waldrin was talking about? It probably is.
"I have to look great, I have to be Christian's date!" Monique whined desperately. I sighed.
"Are you going?"
"Why would I?" I rolled my eyes at her. I am allergic to gatherings. Only Marshan likes those. I'd rather sleep.
"But you have to! Who knows, Raven might invite you!" She said. I almost pushed her to say that if she wasn't injured!
"What made you think of that? You know they hate me, and the feeling is mutual." I said, shuddering at the thought. Of all people, why Raven, whom I don't know, why he harbors so much anger towards me. She just stared at me.
"And please, prioritize your recovery over that party!" I spat. She looked at me tearfully, but I just scowled at her.
We arrived inside the classroom. The news of a gang fight had spread, so they weren't surprised by how Monique looked. They despise the Phantom for being a cheater, and I didn't like it either.
Blake and his gang are strong, and adding the hundreds of their underlings versus the three of them. I supported Monique as she sat on her chair before sitting in my own seat.
"I wonder who they'll choose? Kyaahhh, I'm so excited!"
"I hope it's me! I've prepared for this for so long!"
I furrowed my brow at the whispers I heard in the hallway. They're talking about the party, I suppose
"They are pertaining to the party," Monique whispered to me. I nodded in response. Is it really such a big deal? I just sat down in my seat. I felt my phone vibrate, so I checked it immediately.
I grinned when I read the message. I'll have a fight this weekend. Good thing, as I'm running out of money again.
"Good Morning class! Tomorrow will be the start of the preparation for Zekovia's Foundation Day and Madam Zekovia's birthday celebration."
Our teacher announced. I listened while slouching and smirking. I have to gather information so I have something to use against Madam SC when we meet again. The teacher divided us into five groups to help with different tasks.
The three of us were not included in the groupings, but Monique and I ended up in the same group, the Entertainment Committee.
"We'll take care of the sound system, intermission numbers, and stuff like that," Monique said. I just nodded. What could I possibly contribute? I might just end up being the one carrying the speakers.
"I sang last year," she grinned. She seems very excited about the party, but she's not even that good.
After that, we were able to meet the other members of the committee to delegate tasks. I was assigned to human forces, Monique to arts and designs, and others to intermission numbers and the sound system.
I noticed the three girls from another section giving us mean looks. I've been suppressing the urge to gouge their eyes one by one.
"This is so annoying; why do they have to be part of this committee?" One of them said. My ears twitched at what I heard, and I glanced at them.
"Yeah, such bad vibes."
I felt Monique's grip on my arm, and I calmed down a bit. It's okay if they talk badly about me, as long as they don't drag Monique into it.
"So that's it! We will have a meeting tomorrow, and we'll start purchasing the things we need!" The leader told us. We dispersed, and Monique suddenly got bumped by one of the girls, who even smirked at her. I managed to catch her before she fell.
"This b*tch!" I gritted my teeth. They just grinned at us, making an "L" sign on their foreheads.
I clenched my jaw.
If I get fed up, I'll make sure the three of you end up comatose."
