Palermo, Italy.
“Can I take off the blindfold now?” Olivia snapped, clearly annoyed.
When she reached the airport, she was stranded. However, a car had come to pick her, the driver saying that he's from his boss, Enzo. She'd entered the luxurious car, trying her best to make it seem like it wasn't her first time in a luxurious car. The driver had passed her a red tie to use as a blindfold. The reason? She doesn't know.
Now that the car seemed to stop, she couldn't help herself but ask the gnawing question.
“You can.” The man said.
Olivia hurriedly removed her blindfold and placed it on her lap. Her hands shook and she clasped them together, as if that would stop the tremor.. She glanced wildly in the car.
The inside of the car is luxurious with cream colored soft chairs which sit opposite each other. There's a demarcation between the driver's side and the passenger side so Olivia allowed herself some moment of respite not until the driver's annoying voice broke through the air.
“Please come down ma'am.”
“Ohh, ohh…” Olivia said in panic. Then, she hurried to the door, trying to unlock it but to no avail. She felt heat creep up her cheeks as the driver let out a sigh, got down from his own side, and opened the door for her.
As she stepped out of the car, a gasp tore through her lips. She couldn't hide the shock that settled upon her being when she saw the grandeur of the place. However, when she remembered what brought her there, she composed, clutching her bag’s handle tighter, as if that would ease her.
She glanced around wildly, she's in the middle of nowhere — more like she's surrounded by cars. The place seems to be a parking lot with paved ground and well manicured lawns. How did she get there? She didn't know.
She gazed back in the direction where she felt the car had come from. Her mind runs on how far they were to the gate, not that she knows the direction of the gate or if the place has a gate but for her, it won't hurt to think of an escape.
“Thinking of trying to escape, little thief ?”
Olivia recognised the voice. The voice which belonged to her tormentor, the cause of her misery. Her shaky hands which she'd managed to stop from shaking started shaking again and she hid it behind her.
“Good evening too.” She answered with a smug smile.
Enzo only smirked before glancing at the short figure beside him, as if trying to tell her that ‘did you see what I was trying to say?’
When Enzo's gaze shifted to the short figure beside him, Olivia's gaze also shifted from Enzo's imposing figure and to the short figure beside Enzo. Her gaze widened and her mouth turned into an ‘o’.
Her gaze moved from Alessia to Enzo, and from Enzo back to Alessia.
She dropped her bag and used her hand to cover her mouth.
Alessia only kept her gaze on her feet, as if scared of seeing Olivia's reaction.
“My goodness, Aleee.” Olivia exclaimed before rushing to Alessia and giving her a hug. Her gaze moved to the figure beside Alessia and she drew her to herself, as if trying to protect her.
She gazed back at Alessia which she had hidden behind her, using her own body to protect her.
“Where did you know the bastard?” She asked in a hush voice.
Alessia stifled a laughter as she peeked behind Olivia at Enzo before her gaze moved back to Olivia.
“I'm glad I am not the only one who thought of him as that.” Alessia mused, her hand flying to her mouth to stifle her laughter.
Olivia shifted her gaze back to Enzo, who stood with his hand in his pocket and stared at them in amusement.
Alessia wiped the small tears from her laughter off her eyes then dragged Olivia.
“He's my brother.”
“Oh my goodness. I've always felt that something is off about you and I actually thought he kidnapped you too. I'm sooo sorry.”
Alessia chuckled. “Don't be, I also thought of him as a bastard.”
Olivia released a sigh of relief.
“Come with me,” said Alessia. Then, she turned to Enzo who's slowly following them.
“Where do you think you are coming, frosty? Make your hand useful and help Olivia with her luggage.”
Enzo glared at Alessia as if she'd grown to heads and Alessia only glared back.
“It's okay, it's okay. I will help myself.” Olivia chided, interrupting the brewing storm between the siblings. Then, she rushed to her bag and drew it after her.
Alessia spared Enzo another glare before she shifted her gaze to Olivia, her eyes softening.
“Let's go dear.
They moved to Enzo's car, then sat in the passenger's seat. Soon enough, the car sped off.
As Olivia sat, her hands which were between her thighs shook. She clasped them together, trying to stall her nervousness. She didn't get enough sleep the previous night and when she finally reached Italy that evening, she felt like s**t.
She felt Alessia's soft hands covering hers. Alessia squeezed them softly, as if trying to reassure her.
Some hours later, the car finally stopped and they stepped out. Olivia gazed up at the huge magnificent modern building before her.
“Is this where you live?” She asked Alessia.
“Yes, you will be living here too.” Alessia replied, excitement evident in her voice.
She dragged Olivia into the building. Olivia would have stopped Alessia from dragging her since she's taller then the short Alessia but she allowed herself to be dragged anyway.
When Olivia entered the building, the inside was even more magnificent than the outside. The floor is made from white shiny tiles that is illuminated by a crystal chandelier at the center.. the chandelier emanated a soft golden glow. Apart from what looks like a receptionist desk, the last floor is empty and there's no one behind the receptionist desk. There's also a living area some meters away from the receptionist desk.
“This place is always empty except for midnight.” Alessia mused, then dragged her to the elevator, Enzo some meters behind, his hands still in his pocket.
The three entered the elevator in silence and Alessia hurriedly pressed the fifth floor.
“Wait. Where are you taking her to?” Enzo asked Alessia.
“My floor.”
“Care to expatiate? Isn't she supposed to be on the second or third floor with the others?” Enzo asked, resting his back on the elevator's wall.
“She's my sister from another mother, she will stay with me, near my room. If you are not in support, hit your head on the metallic wall.” She replied stubbornly.
Enzo was about to retort when the elevator dinged. He let out a sigh and exited the elevator before them.
Alessia shifted her gaze to Olivia and burst out laughing.
“But, am I really staying on the same floor with him?” Olivia asked softly, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
“I need your help Alee.”
