C H A P T E R 18

MEL’s POV

 Hugging her feels like home. Her scent, her soft,bouncy flesh, her smile, I feel something weird that I never experienced in my whole life. I saw Aida and Mr. Deiv crying. I wonder why they cry though but I didn’t ask.

“I’m so happy you’re fine now.” The woman said then stroke my hair. I looked at her straight in the eyes and my heart is beating too fast. And, she kinda looks like me. We have similarities.

“Melody, are you feeling something bad?” Aida asked me but I didn’t look at her. I stare at the unfamiliar lady right in front of me.

“No, I feel nothing wrong,Aida.” Aida stroked my hair and said,”why are you looking at her that way?”

“I don’t know. Its just weird that I am happy staring at her face.” I responded without thinking.

This feeling drives me crazy. I shake my head and looked at Mr. Deiv

“Oh,Mr. Deiv, I’m so sorry for the inconvenient.” I bowed and Mr.Deiv tap my back and said,”Everything is alright,Mel.” he said with an assuring smile.

“Your name is Melody. Such a wonderful name.” The strange lady’s voice is so familiar. She hold my hand and with a split second, I saw everything while I was in my sleep. I flinched and that caused her to let go of my hand.

“Who are you? I saw what happened earlier when I was asleep.” I said then they look so shock. I looked at the strange woman and said,”Who are you?”

“Did you hear our conversation,Melody?” Aida asked me and I shook my head as a signal of saying no. Then they felt relieved after that.

“Your ability never leaves you,huh. I’m sorry if I hug you strangely but I am Tiana,Aida and Dev’s friend.” She said and with that name, I immediately bowed. I may encounter something bad but my memories never left me.

“Empress!” I said.

They all sush me and said,”They didn’t know I’m here. Just be quiet,okay?” she said with a smile.

Her smile is so beautiful and I can see that she is really beautiful inside out.

“By the way,Melody, Kim told me that you saw something blurry while the bad winds attacked you?”

Mr.Deiv said then looked at me straight in the eye.

“Yes,Mr.Deiv. But, it is too blurry and I even saw that blurry scene in my dreams.” They looked at me with much interest.

“Can you tell us,please.” The Empress asked me and I smiled as a sign of saying yes.

“Well, in my dreams there is a girl who is the same height as me. Her face and the scene is so blurry and I can only see her figure. I’m not sure if it is a tattoo on her wrist but it is a leaf sign. But I’m not familiar with it.” Aida held my hand after saying that.

“Then she asked me in my dream and said,she will kill my mother. I cried because I only imagine my mother. I haven’t met her. I never saw one of her pictures,too. I want to protect and live with my family. I miss my dad and I didn’t have a chance to meet my mother. That’s it.” I continued.

The Empress teared up when I was speaking. I wonder why though.

“You’ll meet your mother,soon.” she said and tapped my back.

“I will.” I said then smiled.

“Are you feeling fine now,Melody? Can you participate in our training tomorrow?” Mr.Deiv asked me

“I will attend tomorrow’s training,Sir. I want to practice.” My dreams pushed me to protect my mom even though there’s a little chance that I can see nor hug her.

“Oh by the way Mel, you’ll be living with Aida,okay?” Mr.Deiv said then pointed Aida.

“Yes,it is better to be safe than sorry,my dear.”

“Can I just live with my dorm mates? Please. I don’t want to feel entitled just because I am the target of Black Bloods. I want to endure and face it. After all, I am a Maple and under The Aces department. I mean, staying with Aida can just bring me issues when the students found out.” I said trying to convince them.

“Zel is my roommate, she guard me here when I was asleep.” I must use all my cards. I cannot afford leaving my team.

“Okay,but we must first visit your room to secure your safety. I entrust Kim and Zel to protect you.”

And with that said, someone knocked on my door and when it opened it revealed the most reliable person I knew, Kimuel.

“Oh! You still have visitors. I think I must come here later.” He was about to leave when the Empress halted him.

“Come here,Kimuel.”

He looked so shock when he saw the creature who called him. He automatically bow and said,”That’s me,Your Highness!”

We laughed,even the Empress laughed.

“Kim,I entrust Mel to you. You should protect her at all cost. You must stay loyal to her,no matter what happened. You must be her knight and shining armor. You are the only creature that she’s close to. So,please, consider my plead.” she then bow 90 degrees.

The Empress is so humble and kind. I am just a person who is no special but she still treat me like one.

Kim panicked and said,”please don’t bow, Your Highness. I am willing to protect and care for Mel. She’s special to me.”

I am so flustered b what he says. Butterflies keeps on circling my stomach.

They all agreed that I will stay at my room but they will first check it up.

I got discharge in the infirmary and I can finally sleep on my bed peacefully.

But when I entered my room, I can feel that there is something special in it. I looked up and saw a hallow gram that was made by the Empress and Aida.

I feel so special with this treatment but I am a little worried if my classmates will now this.

I think this will be the end of me being peaceful with my classmates.

DEV’s POV

“I’m happy with what you have done a day before yesterday. You unite and that is the spirit of being an Aces. So today, we will have your first training. And at the end of this training you all will be faced with the Hawthorns. Hawthorns are good in everything but they are rebellious that is why they isolated from you.We will go back from the basis. Firstly, Zel, you will be placed inside the botany. You must grow these baby seeds and must grow tall and fair this afternoon. You have a lot of hours to grow them. Second,Ash. Since your ability is fire and snow, you must know how to balance both. So I prepared a pool of water for you and a whole chicken. For the pool, you must make them into an icy pool wherein you can play with your skates. No cracks, no scratches. It must be perfect. And for the whole chicken, I provide, 20 chickens and you must roast it perfectly. Third, Bella, since you are the water and the land, I want you to make a small soft sand. Make sure that whoever goes into your soft sand can go out. Fourth Min, I want you to read a book and must deliver the character’s personalities perfectly. You can’t go aboard with their characters. I will give the book later. Next is Nine, I made a crime scene to you, I want you to capture the details. And Kim, I want you to go into the white room and communicate with me through the device. And lastly, Mel, I want you to go to the other crime scene and figure out who is the real culprit then go to the white and communicate with me though the device.” I said while pointing at them and to their respective places individually. They cannot cheat and they must survive this training since this is all they have.

Each went to their places and while they are doing their activity, when I saw a shadow in the monitor. The shadow went to the crime scene and I alerted when it came to Mel’s place. I shouted at Mel to go out of the room and luckily, she followed me. The shadow went straight in front of the camera and when it removed the invisible blanket, it shows Mel’s other half. Milla. I got the goosebumps and tried to capture it and sent it directly to Aida and said, “She visited her,Aida. Milla is here.”

Zel’s POV

I proceed to my room and planted the seeds peacefully. As I patiently grow the seeds, I saw a shadow roaming around my place.

“Who are you?” I said then the shadow stopped right in front of me.

This shadow is giving me chills and goosebumps.

“I’m looking foe someone. Can you help me?” Her voice is familiar.

“May I know your name first?” the shadow went beside me and said, “I am Milla!”

Her name sounds so familiar.

“Who are you looking to,Milla?” I asked as if I’m not afraid of her presence.

“Melody.” she then laughed. Her laugh is not so good to hear but this gives me the drive to point where is Mel’s room.

“She’s in the second crime scene.” She then left with a bang on the door.

I looked at my small plants and it withered away. The thought came to me,

“Mr. Deiv, there’s a Black Blood in here!”
