Mated To The Gamma

The Alpha

We made it to the 4th floor silently, the Alphas parents trailing behind, and my father behind them. Alex led us to a set of double doors to the left of the landing and a pair of Gammas standing in wait opened the doors for us.

Inside was a large and dark office. Almost black wooden bookshelves reached floor to ceiling on three of the four walls, and opposite the door was a large window with tightly drawn red velvet curtains behind a massive solid wood desk. Alex led me to a seating area of black leather chairs with high backs formed into a semi circle in front of the desk. I took a seat in the chair and the former Alpha and Luna and my father sat in the remaining seats while Alex took his place behind the desk.

I felt the hair on the back of my neck prickle up as two more people entered the room behind us before the door closed. One of the men was Chase, I could feel him standing on the wall behind us just inside the closed doors. My anxious knot had returned to my stomach and I started picking at my fingernails in my lap. I wanted so badly to turn around and look at Chase but I forced my body to remain seated.

"Thank you Beta Ben for bringing your daughter here today. We all have much to discuss about the upcoming mating ceremony and coronation." Alex started, looking only at my father as if I did not exist in this space. My father just nodded in response before Alex continued.

"As you all know there are steps we must take to ensure a successful mating ceremony, so Eden will remain here on this floor until that time comes to ensure she is unlikely to find her fated mate before we create our own mate bond." Alex continued. I sucked in a breath, no one told me I would have to remain here on this floor only for the next month. I was starting to feel like a prisoner, but the mention of the words fated mate had my heart beating erratically. What would happen if they knew I already had?

The old Luna spoke next actually looking at me unlike her Alpha son."I know that seems over precautions Eden, but for the ceremony to go well and work correctly we cannot take any chances, so you will stay here under guard of our most trusted Gammas Chase and Lukas until the time comes."

Oh no. Chase was a Gamma... a soldier or bodyguard for the Alpha family. Gammas were among the most physically strong outside of the Alphas themselves, for our kind, and always served in a military role for the pack. It seemed as though Chase was part of the Alpha family's personal bodyguard detail.

Alex cut in on his mother coldly "You will have a strict schedule here over the next month. You will be given your own quarters until the mating ceremony, and will finish your Luna lessons with my mother in the library every other day, and the days you are not you will get to know my needs for you and my routine." He looked at me this time but I almost preferred when he didn't, the cold look on his face made me want to squirm in my chair but I held my place and kept my expression as unreadable as possible.

"I will take you to your rooms while our parents finish discussing ceremony details and you may rest until dinner" Alex rose from his chair and I stood quickly. He extended his hand again almost like a robot and I once again placed my hand in his as he led us out of the room, the two bodyguards following behind.

We walked down the hallway until we came up on another set of doors. "My rooms are to the left here and yours are to the right across the hall" Alex instructed. The other Gamma opened my door and Alex walked me inside and dropped my hand. I turned to look out the open door and caught Chase's eye, he looked murderous but also deeply in pain and I wanted nothing more than to throw my arms around him but the door to my room was quickly slammed behind me leaving me alone with the Alpha and my mate on the other side.

The room was large, really large. It was the size of my bedroom at home and my parents put together. The were doors leading to what I assumed were the bathroom and closet on one side and an open archway that led to a sitting room on the other. This room looked vastly different from the office we had just left with lots of natural light streaming in from tall windows covered with lace baby blue curtains. The bed was gold metal with antique scrolling and rounded edges with a large plush white, pink and baby blue bedspread. It really was quite beautiful.

As I was taking it all in I didn't notice that Alex had come closer to me than he had been until the hair on my arms pricked up sensing danger. I looked up at him and his face made me take a step back, he looked terrifying, a hungry look on his face.

"Now little Luna, I bet you can't wait to finally please your Alpha." His face now plastered a devious smile that made bile come up to my throat.

"I am here to serve my pack, as best I can Alpha." I responded meekly. Trying to mask the terror in my voice.

"I'm sure there are many ways you can serve me. How about on the bed first?" He retorted. Now I really wanted to puke. We weren't supposed to mate before the ceremony, and I thought I would have more time, nevermind the fact that now I could feel the pull of my fated mate on the other side of the door.

"Alpha, I thought we couldn't mate before the actual mating ceremony, I wouldn't want to jeopardize the success of the ceremony..." I hoped this would deter him from whatever he had in mind at least for now but he looked even more angry than before.

He grabbed my arm with such force I yelped in surprise. He pulled me towards him and we were now nose to nose. "You think you're so smart don't you Eden? I remember the brat you were as a child, and I cannot wait to beat that out of you. No we cannot mate before the ceremony but I'm sure I can think of other ways you can please me in the meantime." His voice sounded like venom dripping from his mouth.

I tried to pull out of his grasp in terror, but it was clear it only deepened his anger. With his free hand he slapped me as forcefully as he could across the face and the metallic taste of blood sprang into my mouth, and more dripped from my nose. Tears began to sting my eyes and he let go of my arm and threw me to the floor, where I crumpled in a heap.

"You are mine to do as I please from this day forward Eden, do not be mistaken. You may be Luna but your most important role from now on is to please your Alpha." He spat the words at me from above and then stormed out of the room and I heard a metallic click of the lock on my door.

I laid on the floor cradling my now bloody face as tears started to flow freely. Nadine howled in pain before growing silent once more as I cried myself to sleep.
