The thought of being married doesn't excite me. At my age, being in a relationship didn't even cross my mind. I wasn't interested in anyone. I was only interested in how to continue living my life as it was; party, travel, money... Those things only a few will get to experience and appreciate. I was busy living like a princess. I had nothing to worry about except my father's one rule; don't get involved in any type of scandal that would tamper with our names. Well... I did. I was dragged and so, here we are, trying to reclaim our name. I understand why everyone in our home is worried. After all, we are Madrigal and Papa is running for Mayor. The last thing he wanted is to witness his only daughter being involved in something he has warned her about. I guess, there are things I can't just avoid no matter how hard I try to. Like getting involved in a drug scandal and getting married to someone whom I barely know. Of course, I won't deny that I dreamt to get married but that's just all dreams. I haven't found the one yet, and I wasn't rushing things but if love comes my way, then maybe I'd give it a chance. But at this phase, I don't ask for it yet. I haven't romanticized my life that much yet so, I am not really looking for one but Papa, unfortunately, searched for the guy for me to marry for convenience. It sucks. But as if I had an option. If I have, I wouldn't choose to marry. "Well, look at that..." said Mama as she scroll down her iPad, reading the entertainment news about me and Rayver. I honestly don't understand why people had to put us on news. I mean, I'm no celebrity! I may be part of a wealthy family but I am not a star! Between me and my brothers, it's always me who's been featured in a lot of news. I mean, I get that my father is running but what does it have to do with me, right? Gosh. I find people so complicated and their minds so puzzled. "Your photos with Rayver are now on the trend list. He's quite popular, huh?" I rolled my eyes and chew the pancake. "You guys should follow each other on your social media accounts," she added. "Maybe post each other's picture on your wall? That would make things realistic, at least." I blinked my eyes twice. I immediately made a disgusting face. Him? On my wall? That's no. I haven't found a guy worthy of my feed. I shook my head to disagree. "No, Ma... Nope." Her brows rose up. "Why not? Rayver already did. He has your stolen picture posted on his gram. It was from your date last night, I assumed." My eyes widened in shock. Huh? Why would he even do that?! I immediately reach for the iPad and check his gram and to my surprise, he really posted a picture of me! I knew he took a photo of me and I thought he deleted it but to my dismay, he didn't. It was me raising my wine glass and I look happy. No... Probably not. Why would I even be happy if it was him I have dined out with? Besides, he didn't even ask for my permission! This is him crossing the line! I give back the gadget to my mother and sighed in annoyance. He didn't even ask me if he could post my photo online. I barely even do that! I spend less time on social media and he seems active on his gram just based on the number of followers he has! And the number of posts! Wow, that's actually amazing, huh? For someone like him who is said to be busy, he sure has a social life. "Well, I need to talk to him about this. He didn't even ask me. This is invading my privacy," I uttered in deep annoyance. "Just let him," my father spoke. "It's actually a good start, Lili. Just tell him not to overdo it, though. As everyone might grow suspicious about your relationship. Keep it lowkey but not in private, that's how generation today like it, right?" I stared at my father in disbelief. I know my pictures are circulating online. but this... he doesn't have to do this. So, I wouldn't have to do this, too. I bit my lower lip and just continued eating. He should get ready. "You should see each other more often. You guys will be spotted every now and then because you two will personally attend the things you needed to attend to regarding your wedding. We'll have everything scheduled... or rather, Rayver would make time for all these things." My lips formed into a thin line. So, we will together plan the concept of our wedding like a real couple, huh? That's too much already. I don't even like to spend a minute or an hour with him because all he does irritates the hell out of me. Sighing, I just nodded. As I have said, I had no choice but to just say yes to everything like a robot. "We already look for the wedding planner. All you have to do is choose and pick. You don't have to worry about the visitors and the likes. Your father and I would be in charge of that." Again, I nodded. For sure. businessmen and women would fill the venue. That's how they'll slowly introduce us to the business. "Well, at least let me pick my wedding dress," I said slowly. "Even though this wedding isn't serious and definitely not real, at least let me have the freedom to choose the gown I'd wear on the day of our wedding." I'd like to appreciate myself wearing a white dress. I guess that's the only thing I'd find appealing in this hopeless situation, huh? "Why would you even post that?" I asked the moment he answered my call. I called him after my breakfast. It shouldn't even be a big deal because, in the eyes of other people, we are a couple but to me, we are not. I just simply don't want any of this shitz to happen. But I guess Rayver does love taking things to another level, huh? Or maybe, he's trying again to impress my father for this one. Sure, a smart move for Papa. A good start, yes. But seriously? Really, Rayver? "What?" and he had the guts to play innocent! "I'm sorry, Lili. But could we talk later on? I was about to go to a meeting when you called. If you want, we can eat lunch outside together. I am free by that time, so if you want to talk about something then, we could do that." "I'm not meeting up with you," I said firmly. "Take down my picture on your wall, Rayver. I didn't ask you to post my picture on your gram!" "Oh, that..." was his reaction and that annoys me more! "I can't do that. A lot has seen it already and taking down your picture would be bad, hmm? Don't you think? They might assume that we've already broken up hours after flexing you." I tucked my hair behind my ear, trying to refrain from being so annoyed! God, this man... He always makes my blood boil in annoyance! "F uck you," I said calmly. "I didn't ask you to flex me on social media! You just... did that for what?" "To make things between us a little realistic," he answered. "I will hang up now. I will just send you the details of the venue for our lunch later. See you, Lili..." With that, he hangs up the phone. I bit my lower lip, glaring at his name on my phone's screen. I throw my phone away from my bed and I watched it bounce before I made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. Sure, I don't want to see him. I really don't want to but then, he was right. It would be bad to take it down when thousands of people have seen it already. Rayver Clemente really has a huge fanbase, huh? He's not even a celebrity! Well, I guess that's what his face and body can do. It lured a lot of people. Well, he has lured me once. That night... At my bachelorette party when I ended up giving myself to the man whom I swore to. I told myself that Rayver can have my father's money but me. Never. Ironically, I ended up sharing a bed with him. That's how fate plays with me, huh? F ucking not funny. Something I don't want. Sighing, I tried to look decent enough even though, I am more than decent.
