Rebellious 15

Well, I am at the phase where I just question myself, 'who am I to decline?'. So, instead of trying to argue with him like I always do, I comply. He texted me the details of the venue for our lunch and my brow raised after reading it. It was my favorite diner. He must have asked Mama, or Papa about it, huh? He probably did or if not then, I'd think that he stalked me. Sighing, I entered the restaurant. Their staff welcomed me with a warm smile, like always. "Welcome, Ms. Madrigal," the staff said. "This way, please..." Before I went here, I received a text from him that he was on his way to the venue. I assumed Rayver has already arrived and my assumption didn't disappoint when I saw him on his phone— busy texting, maybe? But when he felt my presence, he raised his head and then, quickly put down his phone on the table. He stood up to face me and walked near me. I was stunned when he sneak his arm around my waist and kissed me on the side of my lips. My forehead knotted at his sudden sweetness. But then, I realized that it must be for the show. There are a lot of people here and since I frequently eat in the restaurant, a lot of staff also know me. I let out a forced smile when he withdraw. He even pulled the chair for me before he sat across me. "I was hoping you'd cancel this lunch," I said. "You are a busy man, after all. Having lunch with me in a public place— I don't know if I should be glad that you made time for this." I was smiling when I told him each word. Sure, I love this place and the food but to share this part of me with Rayver is something I did not imagine. Well, why didn't I see this coming? I am sure he and Papa are into this. "I was curious about your favorites so, I made some research." My brow raised. "Research, huh? You probably ask my father about it. Is that how interested you are in me?" I kept my voice low, trying not to be heard by the neighboring tables. Research, huh? And here I thought he was busy when he actually had the time to do that. I mentally tap myself. Of course, he had someone do it for him. "Not really... I didn't ask him, your father just overshare a lot of things about you, Lili. In a short period of time, I get to know you bits by bits, at least. That actually helps me in these trying times." Shrugging, I smirked. "Well, as for me... I don't have the energy and the time to know you, Rayver. I won't even bother to." That's right. This is only for the show and I don't care if people think that Rayver— my future husband is not loved enough by me. He makes effort, I don't. I don't think I could reciprocate the same effort even if it's all just made up. We went silent when the waiter give us a beverage. I smiled and started looking at the menu, dissing Rayver. I hope someone calls him for work but the thought of it made me grimace silently. Nope... I don't like to look pathetic in here trying to not look so sad if my future husband leaves me in the middle of our lunch. "Don't you have work after this? I am surprised you still got time for this when you said you're a busy person." "When did I say that?" I shrugged and then, look at him. "I don't know. I just know, I think?" He looked at me intently and I didn't like how his eyes lift up in playfulness. I rolled my eyes and just diverted my attention to the menu again. "At least you know that I'm a busy man," he said. "In that way, you would understand why I can't make time for you in other things but this— my wife, we shall eat your favorite food." My upper lip rose up. And now, I don't know where he had the guts to play with me in this place. I raised my gaze at him and he looks so serious now. I bit my lower lip and just shook my head. "You sure know how to play," I told him. "Well, Rayver... I also know how to play dirty..." The table is covered with a white long table cloth, it can hide my legs when I'd start to touch his, right? Smirking, I raised my leg in the air and start touching his strong leg with my feet, and I could see him shifting in his position, then throwing me a glare. But I just shrugged and acted innocent as I continued to choose food from the menu. Well, funny how my mood changes. I am annoyed at him then, I am doing this to him under the table. It's not even dirty... I am just merely— My eyes widened when I felt his hand on my toes. I squinted my eyes and was about to take back my feet when he raised his hand so, the waiter came in to ask. I stopped fidgetting and throw daggers in his direction. This guy... What does he think he is doing?! "May I ask for another glass of water, please?" The staff obliged. When he left, that's when he let go of my leg. Before I could even throw words at him, he immediately excused himself for a bathroom break. He'd probably was his hands, huh? I tucked my hair behind my ear as I follow his lean back with my gaze until he disappear from my sight. I wore my sandals again and sighed deeply, trying to calm myself down. Well, Lili... Why did you even do that? That was... kind of out of line. Tsk.
