The Bestfriend

*Kat's POV*

I texted Kalen the address to the pack house yesterday. I am currently eating breakfast waiting for him to get here. It has been hell with Lucas asking so many questions about Kalen I keep telling him that he has to wait and find out. "So when is this Kalen person supposed to be here?" Jax asked me. I can see the small smile on his face when he said Kalen's name. "He should be here by now I am going to try and call him." I say to him getting a little worried that my bestie ditched me. As I was about to pick up the phone I heard a car pull in. I ran outside to see my bestie getting out of a 2020 Range Rover. I screamed and he screamed once we saw each other. "I can't believe you are finally here I missed you so mu...." we heard two loud powerful growls we pulled apart and I seen my fuming mate and one angry Jax. I have personally never seen Jax mad before but I don't like the way he is looking at me. "Kalen this is my mate Lucas and his beta Jax." I say sweetly while walking up to my mate. "Lucas and Jax this is Kalen my best friend since kindergarten." I see Kalen looking really nervous as Lucas approach him and introduce himself again. "It is nice to meet you Kalen welcome to my land." Kalen says thank you and lowers his head to him as a sign of respect. Kalen mind links me "OH MY GOD YOUR MATE IS HOT" I growl playfully at him as a warning knowing he is gay. "Careful now he is mine and I see that Jax has not taken his eyes off of you is he your...." I wait for him to finish "My mate.... he is going to reject me I can feel it Kitty." I look up at him and take him in my arms Kalen is very sensitive when it comes to being rejected or yelled at. 

"Lucas I am going to show Kalen to the room he will be staying in okay?" He nodded and said "Okay I need to have a talk with Jax anyways." I turned and walked to where he was going to be staying for a couple of days.

*Jax's POV*

I was sitting talking with Kat when we heard a car pull up and she ran out. I walked out and once I got out the front door the most amazing scent hit me, it smelt like rose and sea salt. I seen the most handsome man ever he had shoulder length half black and half blue hair with a tattoo on his arm and I growled and with my growl was Luke's growl with mine. My wolf kept repeating "MATE MATE MARK MATE" in my head it took everything in me to control my wolf and Kat hugging him wasn't helping. I kind of heard Kat introduce us but I was still fighting my wolf then they were mind linking each other which made Blaze was getting harder to control. I think that Luke felt something was up when he mind linked me. "Jax man is that your..." I never told Luke that I was gay well I didn't even really know I knew I liked guys but I also felt attracted to women too I just thought I was bi. I sighed and said "yes he is my mate... he is so adorable... wait why is he starting to cry.... Ahh man Luke he probably thinks I don't want him." 

Kat and Kalen went inside and I needed to go on a run before my wolf took over and mark Kalen before we even had a chance to talk."Luke I am going to run Blaze wants to mark Kalen but I want to talk to him first before anything happens." I say to him he said okay and walked inside. I took off running and jump and shifted into my wolf. Blaze is a dark brown with white paws. I started running and I knew that Luke was probably talking to Kat and my loving handsome mate.

*Lucas' POV*

After Jax ran into the woods I walked inside to go talk to Kat and Kalen. I knocked on the room we had set up for him to stay in and heard my mates soft beautiful voice say come in. "Is everything alright in here?" I ask them. Kalen was sitting there tear stains on his face and he was sniffling. "He is afraid that Jax doesn't want him and that he will reject him please tell me that is not true." Kat said to me I just sighed. "I do not know my love honestly I did not know he was gay. I do know that he wants to get to know you Kalen just give him a chance, and if you do not mind if I barrow my mate for a few minutes." I say to him with a small smile on my face. He nods to me and says "Go Kat we can catch up in a little okay." she nods and hugs him and it takes everything in me to suppress the growl I feel in the back of my throat. As we are walking out of the room we see Jax at the end of the hallway walking towards us. As he gets closer Kat grabs his collar of his shirt and says "In there is my best friend he has protected me all through grade school and I may not be as strong as you are but I will kick your ass if you hurt him in anyway... GOT IT!" he shakes his head and says "Yes Luna" she let go of his shirt and says "Excuse me my mate wanted to speak to me for a few minutes." He nods and knock on Kalen's door.

Kat and I are sitting in her room and I am trying to tell her how I am feeling but nothing wants to come out. "Is everything alright Lucas you are making me nervous not saying anything and just staring at me." I chuckle at her innocence. "So that was who you were talking to yesterday." she chuckled and said "yes he has been my bestfriend and came to the east coast for collage." I made an 'o' shape with my mouth. "Can I ask you a question please?" I asked her. She nodded her head yes and did a continuing motion. "Do you think I can take you on a date on Friday night please?" I waited for her to answer very nervously.

*Kat's POV*

I sat there shocked that he just asked me out on a date. "Umm.. I guess we can go on a date but right now I want to go check on my best friend and your beta to make sure that my bestie doesn't get hurt." I can see the excitement when I first started then turn into a little fear. "I totally agree with you lets go and make sure that my beta will not be dead by night fall." I couldn't help but laugh and with that we went to check on our besties. 

I slowly knock on the door while opening it. I heard Kalen's little giggles coming from inside. "Can we come in?" I asked trying to make sure that I am not walking in on anything. I heard two chuckles and a soft come in. "And how are things going on in here?" I ask as Lucas and I walk in. "Kat I was completely wrong about him. He is just amazing." Kalen said while getting up to hug me. Once he wrapped his arms around me we got two low growls from our mates. "Will you to calm down Lucas I am your mate and Kalen is clearly gay." I said to them while Kalen is laughing. "Well since everything is alright here can I please catch up with my bestie that I haven't seen in a year." Both of them protested but eventually gave in and I finally get to catch up with Kalen.
