CHAPTER 3

Lydia kept on adjusting her make while looking angry while re applying Then she said “This darn fools” and walked away Amelia came out after Lydia left Furious with tears she went down to where the car was, She entered the car and told the driver to take her back home She was done for the day. After a while she arrived back at the mansion “Ma'am a package-” before Ezekiel could finish his sentence Amelia stormed upstairs into her room sobbing quietly on her bed into the pillow so no one would hear her, most especially her son louis. After a while she stood up, wiped her tears and went to the closet and started packing her clothes and some other things she would need into a luggage After packing she went downstairs with the luggage Ezekiel was standing in front of her with a cup of tea in a tray, it looks like he was planning to head into her room before she came downstairs “Should I prepare the car ma'am?” Ezekiel asked looking at her a bit confused, wondering what was going on and why she was holding a luggage “No, no need for that I'll be fine on my own” she replied, her sounding worn out and tired “Where is Louis?" She asked “He has been fast asleep after dinner” She looked towards the clock beside their family's portrait on the wall and saw it's already past 10pm She turned towards Ezekiel and told him to take care of louis till either her or Nathaniel is back And she dragged the Luggage to leave “What will I tell Sire, when he is back and he asks of you?” She turned around to Ezekiel “I don't think you should say anything, he would barely notice that I'm gone” Amelia left the mansion and boarded a taxi to her friend's house It was already 11pm by the time she had arrived She kept on pressing the doorbell at the gate before a maid came to open the gate and let her in. “Ma'am someone is here to see you” Calista was told by a maid while she was practicing yoga to relax Calista checked the time to see it was past 11pm she wondered who it might be to visit her this late at night “Who?” “Miss Amelia” the maid replied Calista stood up immediately and rushed down leaving the maid behind “AMELIA!” “Oh my gosh! What are you doing here by this time?” “Where is Louis? Did something happen?” Before Calista could continue asking questions Amelia hugged her gently exhausted she just stayed there and told Calista she is tired and wants to rest Calista hugged her and pat her back gently She ordered the maid to get some refreshments and took Amelia upstairs to her room. “I'M SORRY, WHAT?!!!!!!” Calista exclaimed after Amelia told her everything that happened “NO NO NO, wait are you sure about this?!!” “What do you mean if I'm sure? I saw them both” Amelia responded her voice still sounding broken “I saw him with Lydia” Amelia was at the verge of breaking down into to tears again, Calista hugged her to comfort her “You know what, we are going back there right now! I won't go easy on Nathaniel! This isn't how things are meant to be?!” “We are going back tomorrow morning! This just doesn't make sense! How could Nathaniel do this! After everything! And on your 6th anniversary?!!! Like that too much!” Calista sounded very angry “You know what, you should divorce him!” Calista said “You know that's not possible easily, my father wouldn't allow me to easily divorce him” Amelia replied “Then what are you going to do?” “ Let me just stay here to rest and gather my thoughts I'm exhausted as it is, I thought even though he started acting indifferently this past 3 years, things would still be okay” “I wasn't expecting this” Amelia said “You should rest, you actually need it. We'll talk and try to cheer you up tomorrow,” Calista said softly. After the two were done with their conversation Calista went to her room to sleep, leaving Amelia in the guest room to rest. Amelia was about to lay down to rest her head after everything she had gone through for the day, when her eye suddenly caught a book in the drawer close to the bed She picked it up Curious, she opened it up to read and closed Tears were still in her eyes she shut her eyes to sleep while the tears slipped down her cheeks and after a while she slept off. Meanwhile, Calista took up her phone to call Nathaniel but his phone was going through She let it go for the night and went to bed. The next morning, Calista woke up due to the alarm sound and A knock sounded on her door that breakfast was ready The maid at the door asked if Amelia should be woken up, knowing how much her friend has gone through Calista said she is to be left alone to rest. She began her morning routine by drinking some coffee and going out to get fresh flowers from the garden for the house herself because the maids mostly mess up with the roots of the flowers preventing new ones from growing Calista is an only child of her family, her parents runs a private oil company She never lacked anything as a child Her parents weren't always home, they stay at their family hotel mostly, the company was closer to the hotel than the house So they were rarely home. Calista mostly was taken care of her nannies She would work on online graphics for businesses while she works the garden too. That morning after she was done plucking the flowers and replacing them, she went upstairs into the guest room to check on Amelia only not to see her in the room She started getting worried so she called out to Amelia but received no response She went to the bathroom to see Amelia sinked into the bathtub, the water covering her whole from head to toe Her hair floating like silk across the surface Panicked she called out vigorously “Amelia?!!”
