A day passed by since the day Jane offered to provide a roof for Alice, it was now early in the morning on a Thursday.

Alice was already dressed waiting on Jane she sat on the bed, the previous day Jane had a night shift so today she would go home and it being the day to discharge Alice, made it good for them to leave early.

She couldn’t leave the hospital without a guardians consent so Alice asked Mr. Jones to help, he was after all the one that admitted her here.

Alice watched as the door opened, Mr. Jones entered the room, today he had on jeans and a golf shirt that made him look a bit more younger then he did on usual days.

He say down beside Alice, “Ready for freedom kid?” he spoke as he looked at her, Alice giggled before she jumped off the bed. Alice was more than ready, she would finally live freely with hate still you know humans.

“Boy am I? I have been waiting for this for f*****g six months.” she gave him a dead serious face with some dry eyes, “David I am prepared.” they both bursted out laughing, the only person she would miss was David Jones at BLI and maybe annoying the living s**t out of Mr. Deadlock and Ms. Baffle and most definitely giving John and Fredrik a difficult time.

“I can see that but a bit more respect, it’s Dr. Jones to you.” he spoke once he stopped laughing at her ridiculousness.

Alice wiggled her brows at him, “What you gonna do, shock me? Boy you are not that scary. You’re like what, twenty five?” at this moment Alice had stopped wiggling her brows but there was still some brow action.

David held out his fingers, raising all seven of his fingers. “Twenty seven Alie.” his tone and straight forward, Alice rolled her eyes then crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Two years don’t make a difference.” And she was right cause David did not look a day over twenty four.

David gave her stare screaming out ‘Are you serious’, he looked at her up and down before he opened his mouth to speak. “It does, you’re like still a teen who hasn’t set foot in college or seen it.” after that his lips were curled into a side smirk.

Alice looked at him surprised then bursted into laughter, she felt offended by the crazy idea, maybe David had also gone crazy. “I think you meant won’t.” the room still echoed with her laughter.

David chuckled a bit, “Exactly my point, anywho I quit. I couldn’t stay there anymore I find a good job, a better one.” Alice immediately stopped laughing, finally he took her advice, even though he hadn’t been working there for a year but only four months he grew really close to Alice in that time.

Alice went back and sat beside him, there was a moment of silence then it suddenly clicked in her head. “You hire yourself!” she said, her voice a little higher than she anticipated, she placed her hand over her neck while clearing her throat. David looked at her with the same amusement as always, Alice despite being through a lot still was her crazy self.

When he said nothing Alice patted his back, “Like for real, I got a lot of trauma and in case you forgot I’m mentally unstable, got family issues and I’m most definitely heart broken, I need you.” he wore a frown when she said that, he wished he could have helped her but he didn’t and he would have to live with that.

“Yeah of course you do. But it’s free.” he pointed out, which was certainly true and vivid as the day light, he would never get a penny from her not that he needed it anyway.

Alice smiled from ear to ear her teeth exposed, “I rock, I know plus my company would be payment enough.” he looked at her then they both began laughing. Their laughter eventually died down and David could notice Alice lost in thought but her face showed to emotion, he said nothing and just watched her.

“Alice have you thought of Samantha, will you search for her?” he spoke once he could see tears forming in her eyes, Alice came back to reality, she tried giving him a smile but it just could not stay.

As she was about to speak, the door open and there stood Jane in normal clothes and a bag pack. Jane first set eyes on David, “Hie David.” she spoke, the tone she used gave out more then it being a friendly gesture, Alice looked at her with her brows raised. David gave her a shy smile, “Hie Jane.” now Alice was both looking at them clueless, there seemed to be a lot more than either of them let on.

Alice couldn’t believe her eyes, the two friends she made where crushing on eachother, and she was being ignored. “And hie Alice.” Alice spoke giving them both glares, she raised her arm to her forehead. “How you feeling, any pain? Are you hungry?” she rumbled as the two tried to hold back their laughter, she was giving herself the attention she wasn’t given.

They failed which both lead them to burst into laughter, Alice on the other hand did not laugh.

“That’s enough drama queen, shall we go?” David got up from the bed he walked over to the door and stood by the door, still giving Jane her personal space. Alice followed along, with one look at the bed she laid on, the room that had so much bad and terrible memories, she flip her middle finger then slammed the door shut.

The three now both stood in the elevator to Jane’s apartment, for a person who said it ain’t much the building gave off different vibes, this was much so much.

They got off the elevator on the fifth floor, they both followed Jane’s lead till they stopped In front of her apartment. Once she opened the door they both stepped in, David being the first then Alice.

Her eyes grew in surprise, this apartment was more than enough it had everything and it wasn’t at all shabby, it was fancy and sizable. Everything stood accordingly and the ventilation was tremendous, Jane’s little apartment could qualify for a suite.

“You’re room is down that hall to the right, I placed some clothes for you in the closet if they are too big, you can always still wear them any how.” Jane spoke as she pointed to where her room was, she explained more about everything and where she would find what. Alice listened with a heart of gratitude, everything would definitely be better.
