CLAIRE’S POV:
I woke up with no trace of Blake. That kinda made me sad. I frowned a bit and slowly got up and went straight to the bathroom, cleaning myself up and heading out.
“Luna, you’re awake.” A voice sounded from behind me as I passed the living room.
I jumped a bit from the sudden voice. I looked behind and saw Zane, Blake’s third-in-command. Luna, I will never get used to it. A Luna leads and I don’t think I’ll ever be capable of it. Heaving a deep sigh, I paused for a bit. “Y-yeah. May I ask where Blake went?”
He swallowed a huge, “I’m sorry, Luna. Blake suggested that he will do the trading.” He was being honest, that’s good. I can only nod. “And Leila is on her way up here, she told me to tell you she brought you dinner.”
I can feel my frown turn into a smile. “T-thank you, Zane.”
The elevator suddenly rang and opened up. “Hi Claire! Hi Zane!” Leila greeted with a cart full of food. The room was suddenly filled with food smell.
“Damn, woman you’re loud.” Zane laughed, Leila laughed with him and gave me a wink. I can only chuckle.
Stopping beside the kitchen table, she slowly placed the plates on the table. “Whatever. Anyways, since you’re here, why don’t you eat with us?” I came to help to her.
There was a pause so I looked over at Zane who was looking at me like he’s asking for a permission. I blinked at him and blushed, “Y-yeah, why don’t you?”
That is when he finally walked up towards us, “Okay then.”
I’ve never had anyone ask for my permission. It’s always me asking for their permission but now that I got to feel it, I don’t like it anymore.
The three of us started eating.
After eating, we watched an animated movie. Leila then helped me clean myself up before leaving because her kids might be looking for her since it is kind of late. I understood it and I wouldn’t want to keep her kids waiting.
22:04, the clocks says.
Zane stayed outside the room to keep me guarded while Leila went home. I’m now all in this huge bedroom so I can’t help my mind from wondering why Blake still hasn’t come home. I feel worried even though he still scares me. I couldn’t really help but trust because of how he saved me many times and all the reassurances he gives me. Besides that, he makes me feel safe and secured.
What if his wound got worse?
The rogue attack…
Without noticing, I started shaking. Tears kept falling down my eyes. Everything around me is a blur and muted. My breath became shallow but fast. I would’ve died if it weren’t for Leila, Blake and Jake.
I feel useless. I am useless. I can’t even transform into my wolf form. I can’t do anything.
I didn’t notice someone entering the room. The bedside lamp was suddenly turned on and two strong arms scooped me from my current position. “It’s okay Claire, I’m here.”

BLAKE’S POV:
I ran my hand to my hair, messing it up a bit with a sigh. I didn’t expect it to take this long although it’s my fault that I rescheduled it and started late afternoon.
All I wanna do is sleep next to my beautiful mate which I couldn’t stop thinking of. I came out of the elevator and met Zane. I tapped his shoulders lightly, “Thank you, Zane.”
He playfully punched my arm, “Anytime, Blake. Leila tucked your mate to sleep before she left so she’s probably sleeping.”
And with a few talks, he left.
I entered the room and it was filled by sobs and whimper.
“Claire.” I called out but I got no answer. “Claire.” I called again but still got none. Turning on the lamp beside our bed, I grabbed her slowly and put her on my lap. “It’s okay Claire, I’m here.”
What the hell happened? I know I couldn’t get mad or growl at her because it’ll only scare her more so I tried my best to stay patient. Zane probably didn’t hear her cry since the room was soundproof. “I’m sorry, Claire. I’m here now, you’re safe.”
She hugged me tighter and continued to mumble, “I’m sorry. So sorry. Sorry…”
I couldn’t force her to speak so I just let her cry while I speak reassuring words to her. After a while, she stopped crying. I buried my head to the crook of her neck and rested my other hand to the side of her thigh, caressing it lightly. She didn’t push me so I knew it was okay. “What happened Claire?”
Her hand trailed down to my stomach and in my shirt, feeling the claw mark wound I had a while ago. Her touched tingled all over my body and it made Midnight howl. I tried controlling myself from doing something I know I’m gonna regret. “It’s all healed now little mate, thanks to you.” I suddenly got a clue of why she was crying. “You’re safe now, Claire. The rogue is dead and I won’t let anyone hurt you, I promise you that.”
She pulled away, looking at me straight to my eyes. “You really promise?”
I nodded, “I promise.”
It made me think. How will she be able to handle it when she sees me in my wolf form? Will it scare her? Little things scare her so I don’t know how she’ll handle it.
“Let’s get some sleep, Claire.” I’m surprised she’s not mad I went to work when she told me to sleep. That’s probably the least of her worries right now.
I hugged her tightly and she snuggled in. I’ll enjoy this for now.
