♥ Jessica ♥ Casey’s apartment buzzed with a bright kind of energy that felt almost too big for the walls. Megan and Amy were already on the couch when I arrived. There were mugs on the coffee table, and a plate of biscuits that smelled like cinnamon. Casey rushed out from the kitchen, cheeks flushed and eyes shining, and I knew before she even lifted her hand. “Let me see,” I said. She laughed and held out her left hand. The ring caught the light, the oval stone clear and steady on the slim gold band. It suited her in a way that made my chest squeeze. “Oh, Casey,” I said. “It is beautiful,” she beamed with joy. “He did so well,” she said. “Lance picked it himself. The man has taste,” “Clearly,” Megan said. “Shane said he came in for a workout and was on cloud nine,” Amy leaned forward.
