Vision of Tomorrow

The whispers returned the next night. Not soft this time. Not gentle. Allyah woke suddenly, her heart racing as if someone had shaken her awake. Her room was dark except for the faint glow of moonlight slipping through her window. Outside, the sky was overflowing with stars. But something felt wrong. The air itself seemed to hum. Then the whisper came. "Look." Allyah slowly sat up. “What do you want?” she whispered. Another voice followed. "See." Before she could react, a strange warmth spread through her chest. The room around her blurred, the walls dissolving into streaks of silver light. Suddenly— She wasn’t in her bedroom anymore. She stood on the same hill overlooking the town. But everything looked different. The sky was darker. The wind was stronger. And the stars above were glowing an unsettling red. Her stomach twisted. “This isn’t real,” she said softly. A whisper responded. "Not yet." Her heart pounded. Then she saw them. Luke. Seren. And Ethan. They stood near the riverbank, their voices lost in the roaring wind. Ethan raised his hand toward the sky. The stars above began to swirl violently, like a storm forming in the heavens. Seren shouted something. Luke stepped forward. Then— A blinding burst of light exploded across the sky. Allyah screamed. The vision shattered. She gasped as she found herself back in her room, clutching her blanket tightly. Her breathing was shaky. “What… was that?” Her phone buzzed on the bedside table. A message from Luke. Luke: "Did you see it too?" Her heart sank. So it wasn’t just a dream. --- The next morning, the three of them met at the same hill where Allyah had first heard the whispers. Seren looked exhausted. “Let me guess,” she said before anyone spoke. “Vision?” Luke nodded. “The sky turning red.” Seren closed her eyes. “And Ethan drawing power from the stars.” Allyah’s voice trembled slightly. “You saw it too?” Seren sighed. “Yes.” Luke frowned. “So it’s a shared vision.” “Not exactly,” Seren said. “What do you mean?” Seren pointed to Allyah. “She saw the clearest version.” Both Luke and Allyah looked at her in surprise. “Why me?” Allyah asked. Seren studied her carefully. “Because your connection to the stars is stronger than ours.” Allyah shook her head. “That doesn’t make sense. I only started hearing them recently.” “Sometimes power appears suddenly,” Seren said. “Especially when destiny needs it.” Luke looked worried. “If Ethan can cause something like that vision… we’re in trouble.” Seren nodded. “Very big trouble.” Allyah looked up at the sky. The stars seemed peaceful again. But now she knew better. Something terrible was coming. And the stars were warning them before it arrived. ---
