Mic Drop

The heat of the spot light. The exhilaration of knowing that people are listening. The bubble of nerves trying to combust. This is what I'm made of. This is the moment I was born for. It hides the real quiet me. On this stage I will just let the music take me. Everything starts to fades away and then it's just with me and my guitar. It feels like I can live in this moment forever. The way that everyone doesn't know who you are yet. But one day you're going to be someone to them. "Hi, I'm Zoe. This is my first time actually performing. So my nerves are really kicking in. I hope you all enjoy my ten minutes of fame in this pub." Looking around I have to find someone I know. My best friend is sat in the corner giving me the thumbs. "You can do it" she mouths. And then I start to strum. My guitar's notes fly through the air. Touching every soul, making sure their eyes will never leave my swaying figure. And then I open my mouth and sing. This is where everything starts. In this small pub on an open mic night that my best friend forced me to do. With ten or more people watching me. Half with their eyes glazed over from the amount of alcohol they have consumed. The other half just watching, waiting for me to trip up. But I just sing and play. Everything that has ever happened to me, coming through my lips like a story. My eyes closed, but when I open them the small pub is now filled. People swaying, singing along. And when I finish, they want more and more. Cheers pumping my adrenaline. The night then comes to an end and I don't want to leave. But I know I'll be back. This is how it starts. Gaining the hearts of a small pub, while everybody just wastes time. This is where my life starts again.
