In the morning of February 20 Viktor Chmylenko was trying to pull a wounded Maidan protester out of the line of fire. At this very moment he was hit by two sniper bullets. The first one hit his left shoulder while the other one ripped his neck artery. The wounds turned out to be fatal.
The life of a person with the most peaceful occupation in the world was literally a constant struggle. It was a fight for justice, for the land he was cultivating, for Ukraine and for the future of his three children.
