The Hero of the Celestial Hundred lost his life on 18th February 2014. It was the day when a peaceful march to the building of Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] ended up in brutal m******e and the streets of Kyiv were flooded with blood. He died of two gunshots—one in his chest and the other one in the stomach. His body was found by his brothers-in-arms near the House of Officers.
Serhii actively participated in the Maidan protest since its early days. After the night of November 30 when the government forces violently dispersed the students on the Maidan the hero of the Celestial Hundred quit his job, enlisted in the Maidan's Self-Defense force and fully dedicated himself to the cause.
