“Don't you cry, mum. It's gonna be all right,” promised Vitaliy to his mother when he saw her for the last time. In a week a man called from Kyiv and said that her son had died. According to this unknown man, Vitaliy died due to loss of blood in the grounds of Mykhailivskyi monastery.
Medical certificate says he died of shock and a high loss of blood. According to Vitaliy’s elder sister Olena Nasalska, two bullets hit him in the chest close to his neck.
“I nursed him—he’s forteen years younger than me. And I was the one to dress him for the funeral,” Olena almost groans with pain.
