I stretched out across the bed and reached for Gage, but the sheets were cold. He must be downstairs already. I didn’t want to get up, my mind was racing thinking about all the possible outcomes of this going on with Niko. A thought crossed my mind, do I really want to put everyone at risk? It brought tears to my eyes. What has anyone, including Gage, done to deserve my father’s wrath? Nothing, they are simply trying to help me. Just like Damion did. I don’t see why anyone should die for me. I’m not that special. My life is not more important than any other wolves, and I won't be the reason for their death.
It hasn’t been long since Gage marked me so he would be able to move on from me without it killing him. Our bond is strong already but not strong enough to kill him should
