Ember looked like she was going to strike at any moment. I grabbed her by the waist and brought her to my chest. She latched her arms around me and started taking deep breathes, to calm herself, I’m sure. After a few moments she pulled away and looked at DeAngelo who was staring down at his shoes, “DeAngelo, I’m sorry that I yelled at you and also for threatening to tear your head off. I’ve never actually done that before if I’m being honest.” I couldn’t help it, I started laughing. It was a relief to see she was feeling herself again and the fact her and DeAngelo had already had a tiff proved it. He looked up smiling, I could tell he was trying not to laugh too, “Thank you Luna, apology accepted.” I laughed even harder at that.
