Chapter 6

As the scary wolves were walking towards Ava, she closed her eyes and said a prayer. She was fearfully waiting for the attacks of the wolves but they never came. She heard more growls and she heard whimpers too. She slowly opened her eyes and was surprised that there were new sets of wolves around her as if they were protecting her.

"Alpha, there are rouges here. They were trying to attack a human before we came." Malcolm said using the mind link.

"I'm on my way. Protect the human and kill the rouges." Jakobe said.

"Yes Alpha!" Malcolm said. 

Silence engulfed the dark night. No one dares to move but readied themselves for a fight. 

Ava kept quiet because she can feel the tension between the wolves around her and the wolves that were after her. She knew that any minute now, there will be a fight between the wolves.

"Think Ava, think! Or else you'll be in grave danger." Ava said to herself.

Suddenly, a loud snarl was heard all throughout the forest. The scary wolves felt fear that they started to step back. And when a huge black wolf appeared, the scary wolves immediately ran for their lives.

Ava puffed air of relief because the scary wolves were already gone but at the same time, she felt nervous again because the huge wolf is looking at her intently.

"Oh boy, this is not good either." Ava said to herself again.

When Jakobe is already near to the border of Tundra Wolf Pack territory, he smelled a very sweet aroma running through his nose and spreading throughout his body. He was instantly captivated by the smell.

"Mate!" Jakobe said.

"Really? Where? Where?" Jakobe's wolf, Thunder, became excited but to his dismay, he can't smell what Jakobe smelled.

"You can't smell her? It's like a strawberry and melon in one. It's intoxicating." Jakobe said and Thunder tried once again to sniff the air.

"I really can't." Thunder said and Jakobe furrowed his forehead.

"We can talk about it later. We should check first Malcolm's location to know what happened." Jakobe said.

The smell of his mate is nearing as Jakobe is nearing to Malcolm's location and when he already reached the place, he immediately saw his mate. He was already whipped by Ava's beauty.

"Where's our mate? Where's our mate?" Thunder excitedly asked that made Jakobe frowned.

"There!" Jakobe said while looking at Ava.

"Nah, she's not!" Thunder said that made Jakobe a little irritated.

"She's our mate! Can't you feel the connection?" Jakobe said.

"Nope! I'm feeling nothing. Nada!" Thunder said that made Jakobe rolled his eyes.

Jakobe looked at Ava again and when he saw the blood coming from the wound on Ava's feet, he felt angry and then, he growled loudly.

Ava saw how the wolves around her bowed to the huge wolf in front of them. The huge wolf started to walk towards her and the nervousness she's feeling a while ago intensified because of its eyes.

Night's eyes were normal just like the human eyes. The huge wolf in front of her had eyes that were colored golden yellow with a tinge of red. It was scary but at the same time, it's mesmerizing.

Jakobe stopped right in front of Ava and he saw the fear in her eyes.

"You're scaring her!" Jakobe said annoyed to his wolf.

"I'm not." Thunder said.

"I will shift." Jakobe said.

"And scared her more?" Thunder said.

"Why would she be afraid seeing a human just like her?" Jakobe said.

"A wolf turning into a man, do you think it's not scary?" Thunder said.

"Just leave it to me." Thunder continued. He stand straight. Looked at Ava without blinking. And after a while, showed his sharp white teeth.

Ava screamed before losing her consciousness.

"What did I do? I just smiled at her!" Thunder said and Jakobe wanted to punch his own wolf.

Jakobe carried Ava and they went back to Truett's mansion. Jakobe told Truett and Zyair's what happened and told them also that Ava was her mate but the problem is, Thunder don't considered Ava as his mate too.

"Maybe because, she's a human?" Truett's said.

"Luna Jianna was a human too when Alpha Aziel met her." Zyair said.

"But..." Jakobe looked at Zyair who stopped from talking as if he's thinking of something.

"But, it will be the first time that a man and his wolf don't have the same mate at the same time. I mean, Alpha Aziel and his wolf both fell in love with Luna Jianna on their first meeting but you and Thunder don't." Zyair said and Jakobe deeply sighed.

Kenji and Rosalia weren't able to sleep because Ava didn't go home last night. They were worried sick of their daughter and at the same time with Night. Jacques had to administer a tranquilizer to Night for her to calm down. Thankfully, she calmed down and later on, fell asleep.

Kenji and Jacques went to the police station to report Ava is missing but they had to go home because the police in charge told them that it should be after twenty four hours to consider that the person is really missing.

"How's Night?" Kenji asked.

"She's still sleeping." Rosalia answered.

"Where can be Ava right now?" Kenji hugged Rosalia when she started crying again. She's been crying the whole night and her eyes were already swollen.

"Don't worry, we will find her." Kenji said.

"What if something happened to her?" Rosalia said in between her sobs.

"Don't say that. She's alright. She's okay." Kenji said trying himself to be strong for his wife. But deep inside him, he's also thinking of things that might happened to their daughter.

"If something happened to her, I don't know what I'm gonna do. She's my everything, Kenji." Rosalia said crying hard.

"Ssshhh, let's hope and pray that she's doing just fine." Kenji said rubbing his wife's back to make her calm down even for just a bit.
