Chapter 17 Tour the Ship

“Mark-”

“Samantha please i was out of line. You could have died because of me and that stupid rocket launcher and not to mention i almost get my leg tooken off by a f*****g…….i don’t even know what the hell it was. I even told you to just leave me behind but, you saved me still after everything i said to you i don’t think very many people here would do that. At first i thought you were crazy but you’re pretty f*****g amazing.

I giggled.

“I accept your apology now how's your leg?”

“It’s ok, doctor says i can still walk, just have to take it easy for a while.” 

“For a while for sure.”

Frank was standing in the doorway.

“Not done scolding me old man?”

“Son, I will never be done scolding you son but, i have to borrow Samantha here for a moment. Need to show her the corridor. 

“You mean, you got that door opened while I was gone?”

“We did and i think she’s gonna want to see what we’re up against.”

I looked back at Mark who only nodded his head at me. I followed Frank out of the room into the hallway where his wife Madison and a couple of other men were waiting. At first we walked in silence and it felt awkward and then he finally spoke to me.

“I’m sorry for what I said about your friend's kid, I just had to make sure you had that metal arm. I meant no harm.”

“How did you know about my arm?”

“The people here of course, apparently everyone knows a little bit about the General's daughter and a little about what happened while you were out here. I’ve only heard the stories but I would like to hear it from you personally later on.”

While we were walking I realized we were walking outside and it seemed like the sun was getting ready to go down.

“How long were we out for?”

His wife spoke up.

“Well my men found you around early noon so i'd say a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure you just passed out from exhaustion. Mark told us what happened just before he passed out and I have to say you're a pretty remarkable young woman.”

“Thanks, now what exactly are you guys showing me? 

We finally stopped at an elevator which was heavily guarded. When we got in it was only me Frank, Madison, and two of the five guards that were following us from before. Suddenly the elevator jerked so hard that it almost made me lose balance.” 

We started to descend at a slow and steady pace and it seemed like forever until we reached another level but i don’t think it was the bottom. We finally got off and we reached what seemed like a long corridor. 

“I don’t understand, what's so special about this place?”

They both looked at eachother and lights started to flicker on. Soon i was faced with a huge f*****g door bigger than any hangar door at Alexandria. It had some kind of weird markings on it which I figured must have been non-human. 

“What the hell is this?”

“It’s a ship, I'm positive it still functions and everything. We’ve only gotten the door open just the other day. After ten long years of trying to get this f*****g thing open.”

“Ten years?” 

I looked up the thing with awe. It was huge and I never thought I'd see anything like it.

“Come one lets Tour the ship, there's already a team of scientists inside tinkering with things but let me tell you, the head scientist may not be your mother but they were close friends back in the day so she knows her stuff.
