Chapter 17- Telling his parents

Chen Wu POV:

Took my soon to be wife back to my house, I would've took her back to her apartment, but I wanna keep my eyes on An li. Just in case she does something to herself, who made her become like this. Someone that wakes up with ‘fear' maybe when everything settle, I'll ask her personally.

I turn to look at An li and I see her eyes closed, I hear her whimpering reaching over I wipe her tear from her face.

“Everything is going to be fine, I am here with you".

Turning back i look at the road, nearing to my house thinking of how i'm going to cooperate with my wife being like this. Parking inside the garage I got out closing the door, then went around to carry An li.

Opening the door to my house making sure not to drop An li even though she doesn't weigh that much, she's still fragile.

I am walking up the stairs going to the guest bedroom, to lay An li down so she can rest. Then I head to the bathroom to grab a wash towel, wet it with warm water to wipe her face that has tear stains.

I took off her shoes, grab the blanket and cover her. She probably didn't eat anything ever since she fainted, so I'm going to go make something for her. I want her to get her strength back, I don't want a wife who will be weak when she gets pregnant with my heir and gives birth.

Got to call my parents too, I'll give them a call when I am done in the kitchen. Decided to make dumpling soup and congee rice, to give her throat soothing from all the crying she did earlier. I brought the food upstairs put it by the end table by the bed. Went out into the hall to call my parents.

“Ring.Ring.Ring....Hello!."

“Hello! mom"

“Hello son, what is it".

“Is dad there with you, I wanna tell you both something."

“Oh! your father is in his office, I'll go there hold on a minute."

“Ok!"

A minute later hearing his mom tell his father that he wants to speak to the both of them.

“Hello! son, what is it that you have called"

“Well to tell ‘you and mom' that you'll have a daughter-in-law soon."

“REALLY! ( His mom scream on the other side. Good thing I am not over there )

“Yes".

His dad: “When did you had her agree".

“It happened today dad".

“Then I want you to bring her here, so your mom and I can meet her".

“Yes, dad".

“I want you guys to stay for dinner, I want to talk to her about wedding things."

“But mom she didn't take it well, she had a break down when I had.....force her. Can't we at least give her time to adjust everything".

“Why would you do that? You will eventually push her away and, That will make her avoid you?"

“Well, you and dad didn't technically give me much of a choice, because all you guys have done is call me every other day; She did actually avoid me about the whole situation of marriage it took time but I got it".

‘She'll have to get used to it one day"

“Fine, when she wakes up I'll let her know about it".

“See you then son".

“Bye mom. Bye dad".

Hanging up Chen Wu went back inside the room to check on An li. Found her sitting up and have a confused look.

“W-where am I ".

“At my house".

“W-why?"

“Because I want to keep my eyes on you, and once we get married you'll have to move in".

“B-but I can't move into your house, I just got my apartment".

“Do you want what happened earlier, to happen again because I would love to".

“N-no"

“Good now I made you some food, you didn't eat anything. Eat it when it's still hot".

“I-i'm not hungry".

When she said that her stomach was 'growling', it made Chen Wu looked at her.

“You said that but your stomach says something else".

“It wasn't mine I-It's probably outside that is thundering". ( lying her way out of this weird atmosphere between them both )

“You shouldn't say that, when I know it's not the thunder and if you don't plan to eat the food I'll force it down".

“N-not hungry, I'm gonna go back to my apartment now, excuse me".

Standing up She head towards the door, but was stop by Chen wu.

“You know I don't like disobedience girls, and if you want it your way then I'll just have to force it down your throat don't l". ( giving her his usual cold and irritated look )

Her heart is beating really fast remembering what that person say and did to her. Looking around and saw a door open, she decided to run to it. Seeing that his wife is planning something, saw her went straight to the bathroom. Chen wu only let her go to the bathroom already knowing that she will lock herself in, but she doesn't know that he has a surprise for that.

“Are you planning to stay in the bathroom the whole day or are you playing hide and seek".

“I-i'm not hiding, I-i just n-need to use the bathroom".

( My plan was to actually stay in the bathroom until he fall asleep, and I'll leave right away. )

“Then don't take too long in there, your food will get cold".

“O-ok! I just need to do girl stuff".

1 hour pass, and An li is still in the bathroom. Looking at the bathroom door in amaze that his wife is planning to stay and not come out. Getting up from the bed he walk towards the bathroom listening, but not hearing anything.

( So she is planning to stay in there then, guess I'll go with plan b then, but let's see how it goes smiling )

“Are you ever going to come out or you planning to camp in the bathroom with nothing to eat or drink".

“I-i'm not done yet".

“So when!".

“S-soon."

30 minutes pass and An li is still in there.

“You know locking yourself in there is not going to help you".

“I'm not locking myself, I have women problems".

“Well I'll leave you be then".

An li is sitting inside the bath tub with her back facing the door, while she faces the wall then hearing nothing she got up turn to get out of the tub. Just to face him leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed.

“H-how did you open the door".

“If I wanted to see my wife then I can, don't I have the right to see you".

“B-but how did you open the door".

Walking to where she is. “Well with this".

Holding a key in his hand.

“And you thought you could get away from me staying in here, didn't you".

“I-it's not that it's ummm....well I need time to think by myself".

“Think about what?".

“E-everything".

“No point of thinking about it".

“D-dont come any closer".

“Why?"

Looking towards the open door she wants to run to it, but Chen wu is literally blocking the way. So there's no way of getting out; she push herself up to the bathroom wall thinking that she still have more space to backup.

“You know there's no way of getting out, no matter how much you are looking for a way out".

“Can't I s-stay here".

“No! now are you going to go eat your food like I told you or should I feed you myself".

“I-i don't want to eat".

Getting irritated and frustrated because she's being stubborn Chen Wu decided to play along.

“Then I'll play along".

“What d-do you mean by that".

( Turning back to walk Chen Wu told An li ) “Then maybe I should go call Xun Wu and have my people go back to your parents, to demolish their home and land".

Hearing what he said she got out quickly.

Grab his shirt by the back. “D-don't I'll g-go eat". ( grumble )

Bending down to her ear. “And you told me you weren't hungry, you shouldn't lie ‘my wife".

“Don't c-call me that".

“Let's go". ( grabbed An li hand dragging her )

Chen Wu went to reheat her food while she sit on the bed, waiting for him.

“Here now eat; be careful it's still hot".

He came back with a big bowl now, doubling the size.

“I can't finish this, it's too much".

“You should've have ate it earlier like I told you to".

An li who stare at the food became speechless.

“Oh! before I forget you will be coming with me tomorrow to meet my parents and we're having dinner with them".

“W-WHAT? Are you serious".

“Deadly, so be ready by 6pm I'll come pick you up".

“But I'm not ready for that y-yet".

“One day you are going to meet them, so you might as well meet them now".

Sigh... nod her head only, grabbing the spoon she was going to scoop some rice congee but stop and look up at him.

“Ummmm...s-sir.....can't you at least eat some it's too much for me".

“Just eat as much as you can I'll leave the rest for you, for tomorrow breakfast and call me Chen Wu ."

“Yes s-sir... I mean Chen Wu, but I was g-going to leave after this".

“No! you staying here so I can keep my eyes on you".

“i-i can't just stay here".

“Why?"

“B-because I have stuff do". ( hoping he say I could leave, but I was wrong )

“NO!"

“But....."

Giving up because Chen wu gave her a scary look. So instead of asking again she ate quietly, but wanting to ask something again she look up he was gone.

( Maybe this is my chance, I can leave quietly without him not knowing ) An li got up walk quickly but quietly to the door. Grab the door knob to open just to fail opening it.

“Are you some kind of thief or some kind of ninja walking like that".

An li turn to look and see him standing next to a door, where does it lead to. Wanting to know she ask him.

"W-where did you go I looked up and you were gone".

“Went to go grab clothes for you, so you can go shower and change".

“W-what is that door behind you"

“The closet".

( Nooooo! when I thought it was going to be another door that leads a way out ) feeling disappointed she walk back to the bed and sit.

“Why do you look like you are sad". ( Already know the answer, he just want to hear it from her )

“I-i'm not sad, just tired that's all".

Smile secretly he let it go.

“Here these are my clothes it's only until tomorrow morning, I had someone to go buy you new clothes now go shower then go to bed are you done eating already".

“O-ok! and yes I am full."

Walking to the bathroom locking the door behind her and getting ready to shower. Looking at herself in the mirror.

( Is this really how I am going to live the rest of my life from now on, with my boss as his wife )
