I stood on that street corner watching Madeline’s taxi drive off until they rounded the corner. There was something about her that was so alluring. There was something that was pulling me to her and had been since her resume was first dropped onto my desk. She didn’t know that it was me that studied her resume for hours, trying to work out why she didn’t seem to have more experience in other areas. She was a smart woman, too smart to be held back because of her circumstances, I knew then that I had wanted her to work for me.
