I don’t remember coming home last night. I remember going into the taxi that Alejandro put me in, I remember him standing there on the street watching as the taxi drove away and I remember how that felt. What I don’t remember is the adrenaline wearing off and somehow climbing into bed fully dressed. I wipe the sheen of sweat off of my face with the back of my hand and glance at the clock on the nightstand. Groaning, I realised that I had overslept. It was one thing to have Miguel in my house as I woke up and it was another thing entirely for Alejandro to be here.
