The Billionaire's Bargain

CHAPTER THREE

It has now been three weeks since Madison's wedding was called off and Madison has been so sad from the incident but she has had Ella all by her side who has helped her feel much better and has taken good care of her. Her mother, Nora has also been taking out time every weekend to come visit her daughter and spend time with her in her current state.

Three weeks had gone and Madison had still not heard from Aaron. She kept texting and calling him but all was to avail as Aaron had refused to text her back or even give her a call and it made her sad.

Ella didn't like how her friend was looking because she was so sad that she found it very hard to even get out of bed or even take a shower but Ella was going to be there for her till she got better.

"It's been three weeks since my wedding got called off," Madison says to Ella while Ella is sitting on the couch. "Yes it's been three hard weeks for the both of us" Ella replied.

"I don't want to keep feeling this way and it seems Aaron doesn't want me either so I think I have to move on" Madison speaks to Ella while Ella's face brightens up in excitement that her friend is now ready to get back on her feet and keep moving.

"It's about time," Ella says

"So what is your plan now?" Ella says to Madison as her face is in serious confusion because she doesn't know what to do.

Madison had graduated college a few months back but had not gotten a job since then. Even though she graduated with a 4.0 CGPA, she wasn't able to get a job.

"I have an upcoming interview with New York's eligible billionaire bachelor next week Friday and I'm excited about it" Ella says to Madison to try to ease the awkward environment and bring in some spice but Madison looks lost in her thoughts as she's now wondering what she would be doing with her life.

"Hello" waving her hands in front of Madison to get her attention.

"I'm sorry what were you saying" Madison says in shock after coming back from Wonder Land

"I was saying I'm having an interview with New York's eligible billionaire bachelor next week Friday " Ella says while moving her body closer to Madison to make sure she has gotten her full attention.

Madison didn't really look interested in the conversation since her whole mind was going through a lot of things but she didn't want to upset Ella so she managed to listen to her friend for a while and then politely told her she was going to take a nap as she wasn't feeling to well and Ella understood and left her to be.

Thursday night came and Ella had the serious flu and was now wondering how she would make it for the interview the next day. She pleaded with Madison to stand in for her but Madison didn't think she was capable of having an interview with a billionaire because she had imagined him to be very big and tough.

Ella pleaded and told Madison all the questions were going to be in a paper and all she had to do was put on the recorder and ask questions from the paper she would be given and that would be it.

Madison thought about it for a little while and considered it because it was a huge thing for Ella and she didn't want her having the flu to ruin everything so she accepted to stand in for her and get the interview done with.

It was now Friday and Ella gave Madison a paper of what she'd be needing for the interview and also told her she could drive her car since she didn't want her running late for the interview

Madison was nervous but she told herself it wasn't going to be so bad since all she needed to do was ask the questions in the paper given to her and she would be fine.

She got into Ella's SUV and drove off. The road was free and the drive was quite fast. She finally arrived and she was in absolute awe when she saw the building. It was a tall building that had Jaxon Enterprise on it.

She walked into the building and the elevator going up to meet with the billionaire. As she got in, a woman walked towards her and said "Miss Ella" and stretched out her hands to take her coat. Madison wanted to explain that she wasn't Ella but she was standing in for her but she couldn't because she was interrupted by a lady who came to tell her it was now time to meet with the billionaire.

Madison's hands were sweaty as she walked with the woman to his office. They got to the door and Madison was allowed to go in.

Getting in, Mr Xavier was looking out his window that he didn't even realise someone had entered. Madison cleared her throat as a way to get his attention and he looked back to see who it was.

Turning around to face Madison, Madison was in shock. It felt like she wasn't in the real world as Xavier looked so handsome and at that moment she started wondering why she never took an interest in his personal life like the other women in New York.

She kept staring at his piercing blue eyes that almost couldn't make her stand. His jawline was breath taking and she could see from his suit he had a broad chest.

Xavier came closer to give her a handshake but she was lost in thought and staring at him. Xavier smiled and called her out saying "Miss Ella?" And that was when she was back to reality. She told him her name was Madison and that she had to replace her friend who had the flu.

Xavier expressed that it was okay and he told her he would love to get down to business so he offered her a seat.

Madison sat down and brought out her recorder and paper to start the interview when Xavier came to sit by her side which made her uncomfortable but not in a bad way. He was so handsome that she couldn't just resist him.

She started by asking him how he started up his enterprise and what could have been his motivation and he said he was good with people and that made it very easy for him to do business.

Madison could tell from the way he was answering his questions that he was controlling and very demanding but he also showed little care for the little things in life and it made her have a sense of comfort around him.

She was finally done asking him all the questions and it was now time for her to leave. She thanked him for his time and as she was about to leave, Xavier asked if he could take her out sometime.

She stuttered at first because she couldn't believe a billionaire was asking her to go on a date with him. She didn't reply immediately and it made Xavier walk up closer to her to tell her she should consider it a business meeting after this interview that they had just had.

Madison agreed and he gave her his card and told her to give him a call later and she walked out of his office.

Madison got into the car about to drive off and she kept wondering what had just happened and she still couldn't believe it.

She drove off and got home to give Ella all the answers she had gotten from the interview and Ella was thankful to her for helping out.
