The Queens Right-Hand

The First Day

Annabelle

Annabelle had just barely left the kings room when she heard the queens door open. She quickly moved so she wouldn't be visible. She couldn't hear that the queen said to her, but she could hear very load moans coming from his room. Annabelle let out a sigh, she didn't know what kind of game he was playing with her, but tonight was the last time he would trick her.

She wasn't sure where the extra candles were kept so she slowly made her way down the stairs to her floor. She opened her bedroom door to find James laying on her bed with a few candles in the room.

" James, is there something I can help you with?" she asked him.

He got off of the bed " I was going to ask you the same question, this is my room" he said giving her a smile.

She instantly felt embarrassed " Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't bring a candle with me so thought this was mine" she told him.

He chuckled " That's alright" he told her handing her a candle.

" Have a good night" he told her opening his door for her.

She correctly went into her room this time and got herself undressed and into her night gown. She pulled back the blankets on her bed and climbed in. She wasn't able to sleep right away and just kept staring at the ceiling. Eventually she must have fallen asleep because she woke upto a knocking sound on her door.

"Annabelle, it's time to wake up. You have to get the Queen ready for the day, breakfast is served on the main floor" he told her.

Annabelle got herself dressed and went upstairs and knocked on the queens door " Queen Charlotte it's time to wake up" she said.

Silence. She waited a few minutes before opening her door and finding her room empty and her bed unslept in. She signed and knocked on the kings door " Queen Charlotte are you in there?" she asked.

The door opened within a few seconds with King Albert giving her a smile. Annabelle gave a curtsey " it's time to get ready for the day" she told the queen who made her way towards her.

" I'll see you at breakfast" Charlotte told the king as she gave him a long kiss.

Annabelle and Charlotte went into her room and started getting Charlotte dressed for the day.

" How did you sleep?" Annabelle asked her even though she really didn't want to know.

Charlotte laughed " There wasn't much sleeping if you know what I mean" she told her.

Charlotte sighed " He just couldn't keep his hands off of me, we were intimate four times " she said as Annabelle nodded.

" Sounds like he doesn't follow the typical rules" Annabelle spoke.

" No thank goodness, how did you sleep?" Charlotte asked her.

" It took me awhile to fall asleep, once I start to feel more comfortable I'll be able to sleep better" she told her with a smile.

" Alright let's head down to breakfast " Annabelle said opening the door for Charlotte.

Together they made their way down to the main floor of the castle. They hadn't been to this area of the castle yet they both looked around and smiled at how pretty it was. There was a long table that had ten chairs there.

King Albert was sitting at the head of the table and stood up when they walked in, James came over and pulled out the chair for Charlotte to sit.

" Annabelle, will you be joining us this morning?" the king asked her softly.

" Oh I wasn't expecting this, I always ate after the family did" she explained.

" In my castle the right hands eat with us, the rest of the staff eat afterwards" he explained as James pulled out a chair for her to sit on.

She smiled at him and took a seat. For breakfast was bread and various fruits.

" What is on the schedule for today?" Charlotte asked him smiling at him across the table.

" I have several meetings today, I made sure that you my Queen have nothing. This way you can get used to the castle, and the way of life. Tomorrow is quite busy" he told her.

The King was true to his word, there wasn't a single task that needed to get done today. They spent the entire day exploring the castle as well as the grounds. It was shortly before supper when James found the two of them out in the garden and came over to them.

"Annabelle, the King has requested to see you in his office. The office is on the floor right before his floor, it's marked so you'll be able to find it" James told her.

" Did he say what it's about?" She asked him trying to keep herself calm.

James shook his head no " All I know is I'm in charge of the Queen till you return" he told her.

She had wanted to sigh but she knew better. She made her way inside the house and to the castle. She followed the instructions and found the Kings office. She let out a sigh and knocked on the door.

She could hear the sound of him moving around when the door opened. He gave her a smile and motioned for her to come inside.

Once the door was closed he instantly tried to kiss her.

She moved away from him " You requested me sir?" she asked him with a straight face.

He coughed " Yes I did, how has your day been?" he asked.

" Pleasant" came her reply.

" Did I do something to upset you?" he asked her with a frown.

" No sir. You're my King and that's all" she told him.

He walked towards her and backed her into a corner " It's the fact Charlotte was in my room this morning wasn't it?" he asked her.

" I know she stayed all night, and that you were intimate four times" Annabelle spoke looking into his eyes.

He sighed " Yes that is what happened, I spent the entire night wishing it was you" he told her.

" You and I both know it will never be" she told him as she tried to move past him and he gently grabbed her arm.

" Listen, I meant every word I said last night. I want you and I will do anything to make that happen. I could technically order you to be with me, but I won't control you " he told her.

" So why did you let the queen stay all night? And why were you intimate so many times?" she asked him feeling frustrated.

" You got me so riled up I needed a release, I promise she won't be spending the night tonight" he told her.

" Please come see me tonight once everyone is asleep. I want some alone time with you to prove how much you mean to me" he told her.

She sighed " Alright I will" she told him as he instantly kissed her.
