Tiara stood before the enormous mansion, eyeing it with sheer hatred and disgust shining prominently in her green orbs. She stood straight and tall on her heels, her head held high with the confidence that erupted inside her because of the utter hatred she had stored up in her heart. She no longer felt wary and anxious of this mansion where the devil resided like she used to do in the past. She was left with nothing, everything she ever desired and cherished had been snatched away from her in the cruelest way possible leaving her with nothing but self loath and a hatred that now nurtures the seed of vengeance in her heart. She did not have any fear as she had nothing more to lose and a fearless person was as poisonous as the snake and as deadly as wounded lion. She looked at the Black mansion with determination in her gaze as she ought to destroy the devil who lives there in a way that he would not be able to walk away from the destruction that she would bring upon him. The new mafia king, Xavier Black who thought that he could crumble down the people who were below him just because he was born with power, she swore to break that man in a way no power would be able to fix him back. She swore to make him despise everything he once loved and was proud of. Xavier was proud that he was the only son of his father and that one day he would take over the throne as he was born to rule and Tiara swore that she would make him regret that, she wanted him to regret being born. She promised to make the most powerful mafia leader the weakest, she would bring that man to his knees. “Is everything okay?” a voice that was lingering with confusion and concern got her out of her trance and she turned her head in a corresponding direction and face her husband, the man she swore to destroy. He had his brows furrowed as he looked at her with a slight caressed on his forehead. Xavier approached her slowly and stood before her, stretching his hand out he reached for her face and softly cupped her face. He pushed the stubborn strands of her hair behind her ear before chuckling, “You look kind of lost?” Tiara raised her eyes and stared into his grey orbs that were always as cold as ice but the warmth and adoration always prominent in his eyes whenever he looked at her. She sometimes couldn’t decipher that why would a person like him, the great Xavier Black would even fall for a girl like her who was no match of him. He was one handsome man and had this charm that allure you to him despite having that dangerous aura that his presence radiated though that charm never seemed to work on Tiara as she had always found him perilous to involve with ever since she learned that he would become a mafia leader in her childhood days thus, resulting her keeping her distance from him. “Yes, I am,” she answered after a brief moment as she leaned on to him, hiding her face in his broad and chiseled chest, heaving a long sigh she wrapped her arms around him and huffed in deliberate exhaustion, “I am just tired.” The caressing line that showed his worry for her faded away upon hearing her and he chuckled in response and hugged her back, smiling softly at the woman in his arms, “shall I carry you inside then?” he quipped, teasing her in obvious manner. “Your father inside is waiting for us,” she muttered and pulled away, “I will walk on my own.” “He wouldn’t mind me carrying you.” “but I would and also your friends would be there.” she pointed out and Xavier hummed in agreement, grabbing her hand he they walked inside together, matching each other’s pace. The couple entered the enormous mansion they called their home, the male with the wish to start a new life and perhaps family one day with his wife while she hoped to give his heart such a scar that would always chase away all the happiness that were ever come to in her husband’s life. Xavier saw his father sitting on the white sofa with his legs spread a little, he sat in a relaxing position yet radiated the dangerous aura that clearly stated that how cruel this man could be. He looked around and his gaze fell on the old man who was in his mid-forties, Dante. Xavier had always liked that man because it was him who taught him how to fight and aim, he was the one who was in charge of his training and Xavier respected him, he respected Dante Volkov Jensen a lot but from past few days his heart had turned sour towards him. Perhaps a major reason Xavier respected him that much was because of the fact that he was the father of the girl he loved and not because that he was the closest friend to his father, Alejandro. The moment Xavier witnessed Dante standing in a corner with his head hung low, silently letting his only daughter get punished with a leather lash, he felt an instant blast of anger towards him because out of all those people who were watching her getting whipped, Dante was the one who disappointed Xavier the most. He was Tiara’s father and was supposed to protect his daughter no matter what her mistake was. Xavier had always seen Dante as a strong and fearless man but it turned out that he was a complete coward who did not even stand up to defend his daughter just because it was Alejandro Black who had ordered to whip his daughter. “Hey, dad!” Xavier greeted, trying to mask his excitement from everyone as he neared them, oblivious from the fact that his face showed the embodiment of his happiness. “My boy is finally here!” Alejandro chirped and stood up, engulfing his son in a warm embrace and patted his back a little, “how are you?” “I am absolutely fine, dad.” He answered happily as he pulled away from his father and gave him a heart melting smile and Alejandro felt contended looking at his son, he knew that Xavier was truly veery happy. Dante on the other hand, too stood up as soon as his gaze fell on his daughter standing quietly behind Xavier who was hugging his father. He approached his daughter hoping to embrace her in his arms, something he had been yearning to do from so long but she took a step back and raised her hand to stop him as soon as she decipher that he intended to hug her as well. “don’t!” she said in a cold tone and that made Xavier to turn around and looked at what was happening, “I know, Tiara that you are upset with me but don’t you think you should now forgive your father?” Dante’s voice was soft and low, filled with guilt and longing that it sounded like a plead but Tiara stood motionless, utterly unfazed by his plea. Alejandro took a deep breath upon hearing the pain in Dante’s voice and looked at Tiara who stood there like a statue and huffed in annoyance, “forgive your father for whatever you are upset about,” Alejandro decided to take matter in his hand and let out another command in his authoritative voice, looking at Tiara with a scowl on his face, “though it should have been you asking for the forgiveness for all trouble you have caused to us.” He mocked her clearly showing that he did not like her, not anymore. “dad-“ before Xavier could say anything to reduce the tense atmosphere his father’s words seemed to create he was interrupted by Tiara. “I have not done anything wrong therefore, I refused to apologize,” she raised her bowed head up and looked straight into Alejandro’s eyes as she said those words and that gesture of her made everyone gasped in shock and their eyes went wide upon hearing Tiara talking back, something she had never; something no one had ever done with Alejandro Black. “and who should I forgive is totally up to me, you should not try to control people like this.” Alejandro curled his fingers together, clenching his fist tightly he gritted his teeth together as he looked at this insolent girl before him with utter fury in his eyes. “Tiara!” Xavier called her name in a slightly loud voice that lingered with shock, concern and slight anger all together. He was shocked because it was unbelievable that she could talk to his father in such a way, concerned as he dreaded what would his father do to her and anger that he felt towards her for talking to his father in such a way, even he had never dared to talk in that manner with his father. “you arrogant bi-“ Alejandro started with his icy cold voice but stopped when his eyes fell on his son who stood just beside her and huffed loudly, he knew his son loved this girl and she was now his wife and could not bring himself to complete his sentence and to curse her. He turned his head towards Xavier who had now grabbed Tiara’s arms, “I am sparing her because she is your wife but I do hope that you would teach your wife some manners.” and with that he stormed out of there, leaving his son with his head bowed down in embarrassment.  Tiara’s father looked at the way his friend left, feeling disappointed with his daughter he ran after him to apologize because he knew Tiara would not do that, at least not right now besides it would be better if Xavier talked to her about her behavior. Once the couple was left alone by the elders who had waited to welcome them, Xavier raised his eyes from the ground and set his gaze on his wife who stood totally unfazed by the fiasco she had just created and clenched his fist tightly. He reached for her left arm and grabbed her tightly from her elbow and pulled her to follow his trail. He dragged her harshly but not to the extent where she could get hurt and she quietly let him have his ways with her. They climbed up the stairs and then walked pass few rooms on the left corridor and finally stopped in front of his room. He twisted the door knob and the door was unlocked with a clicking sound as he pushed it open, pulling her in with himself he furiously banged the door shut and left her arms, jerking her away a little. Tiara stood there in complete silent, his back was facing her as he kept rubbing his palm over his face and taking deep breaths in order to cool down the storm he felt building up in him. She did not utter a single word, she neither whimpered nor complained about how he had dragged her and her silence did not settle well with him, it only added the fuel in his already burning anger. He took few deep breaths and finally turned around and faced her and the expressionless look on her face bothered him making him grit his teeth together, “what the hell was that?” “what?” she chose to feigned obliviousness and unbeknownst to her it was the wrong time to play around with him, the one thing Xavier could not tolerate at all was someone disrespecting his parent that too in front of him. “don’t play dumb with me, Tiara!” He exclaimed madly, his grey eyes warning her to quit playing, “you for certain know what I am talking about!”    “okay, fine! I know what you are talking about but care to enlighten why are you so mad over it?” She questioned back, it was not really how she had planned to act around Xavier after coming back from their honeymoon but things got out of her hand when his father tried to interfere in between her father and her. “why I am so mad?” Xavier repeated her question in a tone that implies that he found her asking that utterly irrational, “well, I am mad because maybe you just talked back with my father and disrespected him!” he raised his voice slightly by the end of the sentence. Tiara shot him a ridiculous look as she chose to counter back after a brief pause of few seconds, “I did not!” she said, each and every word loud and clear and in return earned a raise brow from Xavier and by that gesture of his she knew he was giving her last chance to accept her mistake. “or maybe I did but your father completely deserved it, it would help him to remember that he should stop poking his nose into other’s business.”  “Tiara!” He roared in anger and disbelief and grabbed her shoulder firmly and before she could realize what was happening she was pushed to the nearby wall. She gasped as she felt the cold wall brushing against her bare back as she was wearing a backless summer dress. The heat that radiated from his body that was burning in anger got her startled as she knew she might have really crossed her limits with him. She was not aware that talking back and defying his father’s command would have such an effect on him. She had no idea that things could go wrong between them, she had given up so much to have him happy and satisfied and she did not want all of her sacrifice to be in vain and thus decided to keep her calm. “I do not care how you talk to your father or any other person for that matter but I would not just stand by and watch you talking to my father like that ever again,” He made it clear that it was not something he could tolerate, “do you understand?” “Yes, I do.” She nodded her head and wrapped her hands around his waist as she pulled him closer and rested her head on his chest, “I am sorry, it won’t happen again.” She muttered complying with her husband’s demand just like a good wife she intended to be for him.
