9. Prisoner

Blaze pov. I'm sitting in my office waiting for my sister to get ready for her birthday party. After she insisted a whole week, I finally agreed to have the party held in The Sun City. I'm still not sure if it was a good decision or not, as there were so many attacks from the Water Kingdom in the last month. It's like King Kai can't wait to finish this. But I can't think about this now. All I think about since I woke up this morning were purple eyes. I've dreamed about those eyes before, but this time was different. I was in this dark place, I tried to create a flame, but I failed. I never failed back. It was my element, my birth gift, or my birth curse. Trying to bring a flame to life, I froze when I felt eyes burning holes in my back. I turn around to be met with the most amazing pair of purple eyes. I have never seen something as beautiful. What confuses me even more was the fact that I felt attracted to them. And then they just disappeared, only to appear next to me. Blaze... I heard an angelic voice coming from the same direction. I wake up, sweat dripping from my forehead. After checking on my sister, I made my way to the kitchen. I know she likes cold drinks on her trips. I was stopped in my tracks as someone called me worried. "My King! I bring news from the border." "What's going on? Is there anything I should be worried about? " "There were water warriors spotted at the East border My King!" "s**t", I cursed. "Go, prepare the horses! " "Yes, Your Majesty! " "Titus !" I called my best friend. "I need you to take Enya to The Sun City! Enemies were spotted at the border! Don't tell her anything about it! I don't want her to worry! I'll meet you there as soon as the problem is dealt with!" Without waiting for an answer, I left. When we got to the border, my warriors were already dealing with the problem. All the water elementals were tied to the trees. Bruises covering their faces. "My King! We found them trying to infiltrate in the Kingdom." One of my guys said. "Infiltrate?" One of the water guys said, laughing. Then I heard it...They were attacking us. Those here were just a distraction. As The Sun City wasn't so far from the eastern border, we could hear the desperate screams of my people. I get up on my horse and ride as fast as possible. What I saw made my blood boiling. Dead bodies were everywhere. Women's and children running and crying. But what made my anger take control was my sister kneeling next to a hurt Titus, an arrow coming straight to her heart. I lost it. I let go of my fire. In a blink of an eye, I melt the ice arrow going for my sister, then send multiple huge flames in King Kai's direction. But a boy stepped in front of him. It was young. But I didn't care. All I cared for was my sister. I regain control over my element and run to my sister. "Enya! I'm sorry!" I said to my sister, who was a sobbing mess. "Shh...It's ok, Enya! I'm here now!" I said, caressing her now pale face. "Come, we need to help Titus!" After I put Titus in the carriage, I wanted to make sure everyone left was taken care of, so I sent my sister with him back to the palace. They needed to get fast at the palace infirmary because of the huge amount of blood loss. I made sure everyone left alive found their family or dead bodies to offer them a proper burial. The enemies bodies were piled in a carriage, following to be burned. "Your Majesty! This one is alive! But his injuries are pretty bad. What should we do with him, My King?" One warrior said? "Put him on a horse. I'll take him with me as a hostage!" I said as soon as I recognised him as the boy who saved King Kai's life not even 3 hours ago. By the time we arrived at the palace, it was already dark. So much for a party! That crazy King overstepped my limits so many times..but no more. I will give him war if war he wants. As I was cleaning myself, I couldn't stop but think about that boy. I let him in the palace infirmary. Few warriors were guarding the room he was in. He is so young. I don't think he's older than 17. What a kid is doing on the battlefield. Why did he sacrifice his life for that mad King? Who is this boy? The following day I was waked up by one of my warriors. "Your Majesty! The boy is awake!" "I'll be there in a few!" I told him, getting off of the bed. After I took a quick shower, I dressed and made my way to the infirmary. My sister was on the hall's floor. Her knees at her chest and her black eyes were red and puffy. "Enya, you should go get a shower and some sleep. I'll let you know when he's awake. I'll stay here," I said in a soft voice. She looked me in the eyes, unsure..then she nodded. Getting up, she hugged me and then left. I look at the window from my left to see Titus unmoving body. His dark tan skin was slightly blue. The only proof he's alive was his chest slowly moving up and down. Few feet away, my warriors were still guarding the door where that boy was. I made my way to them. Getting in, I was met with scared blue eyes. 'He is just a scared boy.' I though "What's your name? And what reason do you have to sacrifice your life for the King?" I asked. My voice is rough. Before he could open his mouth, I added. "Don't tell me because he is your king, and I won't believe a kid will give up his own life just because of duty." "What will happen to me?" He asked. "You will be held a prisoner for now! Now answer my question! Who are you?" I would typically be annoyed by his disrespect. But I'm not. He is just a kid, forced on the battlefield, from what I can say. "I'm Kano Zale! King Kai Zale is my father!" He said in a low voice
