11. Traitor

Blaze pov.
We run to where Titus was, only to find him on the side of the bed.
"Titus! What do you think you're doing? "Enya asked.
"What is look like? I'm getting out of bed. I need to prepare for the meeting. What? Did you think an ice arrow will gonna stop me from going to the other Kingdoms? " he said chuckling. She runs to his side hitting his shoulder.
"Don't you ever do this to me! Do you hear me?" then she hugged him.
"How do you feel, Titus? "I asked patting him on the back.
"Like a newborn, My King! "Titus responded mockingly.
"Yeah...I can see you're fine from the way that mouth of yours is sounding! "I said and we all burst into laughter.
"It is good to have you back, old friend!"
"It is good to hear this from you, Blaze! When are we going?"
"I don't know yet! The messager left like an hour ago. He should be there by tomorrow night. Then we will just need to wait for their answer. It could take 3 days, a week or a month. Who knows? But I hope will be soon."
"I see! Don't worry Blaze they will help us! I know the will! "
"Let's hope that you're right! "I said going to the window.
Snow will fall soon. And the Water Kingdom will be in their best shape. We need to get ready. We need this alliance!

Kai pov.
I can't believe my son is dead. Why is this happening to me? Why do I lose everyone I love? What I'm going to tell Tal?
She said I shouldn't take Kano with me. She told me that. But I didn't listen. Maybe she is right. Maybe I let the pain and mourning destroy me! Maybe I was letting the revenge messing with my mind, clouding it. And if it didn't, it will now!
Nothing will stop me now!
When I get to the palace doors, Tal was already there.
"Where is he? Where's Kano? "she said, tears in her eyes.
I look at her without any emotion.
"He's dead! They killed our son! Blaze Cyrus killed my son!" I said and made my way to the palace. Not sparing a glance to the mother of my son.
She is a beautiful woman, she gave birth to my son, but I never loved her. I never will. My heart died the same day Noelani did.
"You bastard! You killed him!You!" Tal says hitting me in the back over and over again. I turn around and grab her wrists, then push her to the ground.
"You b***h!I told you you'll going to rot in the dungeons next time when you disrespect me! You should have been grateful I didn't do it earlier! Guards take her!" I said then turning back, and going into my office.
I didn't bother to put any whisky in a glass, instead, I drunk from the bottle.
I had this weird dream last night. Or I think was more like a memory? It was Water Celebration, and I was in the bathroom with a woman. Then Noelani came and saw us..she looked so broken, betrayed. Then she runs away.
The more I think the more I believe it was real. I was in a bathroom before the explosions that killed Noelani..and Tal was there.." Tal! Tal was there!" I scream smashing the bottle on the nearest wall.
I knew something was off with that woman! I just knew! All those years that we were together! She lied to me all those years! How that it never occurred to me that she was working with the enemy? She helped them! She was there with me knowing that Noelani will come. Knowing how broken she will be, seeing us together in that damned bathroom!
Knowing she will run straight into the enemy's trap.
Now I know I should have killed her first!
"Guards! " I yelled.
"Bring Tal in the backyard!Now!"
"Yes, Your Majesty! " The guard said and rush to the dungeons.
I open another bottle of whisky and after drinking half of it I made my way to the backyard!
Maid, warriors, cooks and even the healer were gathered around.
"Today I discovered something! An enemy amongst us! Someone who helped with the killing of our true Queen, Noelani! Someone who lived with me and lied to me for the last twenty years! Someone who will pay today for their crimes! "I shouted! Everyone frozen on their spot, barely breathing. They knew the punishment for traitors was death.
I went next to Tal and roughly grab her shaking chin, putting so much pressure on it that I could feel her bones crack under my fingers. She tried to escape my hold but to no avail.
"Why were you in the bathroom with me, twenty years ago? In the same night, Noelani died? Did you help the enemy? Tell me! Did you know she will die? Did you drug me? Was this your plan? To make it looks like we had an affair, to broke Noelani's heart so she could run straight into the enemy's arms?"I yelled pushing her to the ground.
"I...I did...I did.." she said sobbing and holding her already bruised face.
"You did what?! Did he ask you to do that? Or it was your plan?" I shout in her face.
"He ..he did. He ..he threatened me he will kill me if I'm not going to help him. He said he will burn me alive. I'm so sorry Kai! I didn't want Noelani to die! All I wanted was you! That's why I agreed. I always loved you, Kai! I still love you! Even if our son is dead because of you!"She said crying trying to reach for my hand.
That's it! That is all I needed to hear.
In a blink of an eye, I turn to her and I send multiple arrows in her chest!
"This is the price to pay for being a traitor! "I said watching how the live-in her eyes left her!
"Clean this mess!"I yelled just as Aalto come to my side. He wasn't here till now.
"My King what's wrong!?"
"The b***h was a traitor! She was working with the enemy!"
"But how do you know, My King? What did she say? "he asked a bit worried.
"I just remembered something from that terrible night, and she recognised she agreed to help him when he threatened her."
"Him?Who!?"
"The Fire King. Now I know for sure. He threatened to burn her and her family alive!" I said not believing I didn't figure it out earlier.
I could see a small smile in the corner of his mouth, but before I could open my mouth, it disappeared. Maybe it was just my imagination.
