20. Secrets

Kai pov

I couldn't stop drinking. That girl! Who is she? She looked so much like my Noelani! But how? Why? I need to find out! It seems like having a spy will help me again. I can ask him to look into this for me.

Meanwhile, I can plan my next attack.

"Aalto! "

"Yes, Your Majesty! "

"Have you seen the girl that stopped me killing Blaze Cyrus? "

"Yes My King?"He said, sounding more like a question.

"Find out who she is! What she eats, when she sleeps! I want to know everything about her!

"May I ask why, Sire?"

"No, you may not! But you "may " leave now!"

'Who does this guy think he is to questioning me?'

Evolet pov

After I left Blaze room I went to mine. Tomorrow the meeting will be held, here, in the Air Kingdom.

The attack from four days ago made me realise that we don't have a choice! Water King is a mad man for sure! But why do I feel like I know him?

I brush the thought off and head to the kitchen! I'm really hungry now. Hope there's something left for me to eat.

Going down the stairs, I heard my mother talking with my father about someone. It was me. They were talking about me. Usually, it won't bother me. But what she said made me stop in my tracks.

"Purple light?! Are you sure?" she asked my father. Disbelief in her voice.

'Purple light?Oh no! They have seen it! They know how I'm weirder than I thought! Am I a disappointment to them?'

"Yes, Erin! I have seen it with my eyes! I think it's the time! "he said sounding sad.

"No! Let's wait a little longer, Aaron! Please! "

"Ok! Just a bit longer then we will need to tell her! Remember we made a promise! I know it's hard for you. It's hard for me as well..but we need to do it! The time has come, Erin! The time has come.."

"I know! " my mom said.

'What are they talking about? What do I need to know? What promise? What are they hiding from me? My parents! It's not enough that I don't have an element? That maybe I don't have an Alter? What more can it be? 'Tears start falling from my eyes, blurring my vision. I run back to my room forgetting about food.

Blaze pov

When she left, it was like she took all the warmth with her. It's a weird thing to happen to me, a fire elemental. We are always warm. But now I feel so cold.

Without thinking I start running after her.

"Blaze? "I turn to see Oren."How are you feeling man? You looked pretty bad last time".

"Where's Evolet room? "I asked without answering his question.

"Easy man! What's wrong? What's happening? I like you, Blaze, but if you try to hurt my sister, I'll kill you where you stay!" he said in a serious voice.

"Please, Oren! I need to speak with her. Plus she saved my life, I won't ever hurt her! I will die to protect her! I swear!

"Uhh..ok man! I don't know why, but I believe you! Her room is next to yours! "he said smirking.

"Oren! I just got out of the infirmary, how should I know where my room is?"

"It's the last one on the right! "he said laughing. "Be careful, man! If you try something, she might kick your ass!"

I nod and start running again! When I got in front of her door I froze. 'What I will tell her? What am I even doing here? This is not a good idea! '

As I took a step back, something or someone hits me and fall to the ground with an "oomph".It's someone.

I look at the person getting up, to see a crying Evolet. Her silver eyes were red and puffy and her bottom lip was trembling. My heart ached at this.

"Evolet? What's wrong? "I asked in a low, worried voice."Did someone hurt you? Who was it? Tell me, please! "I could feel the anger building inside of me. But it quickly disappeared as she wrapped her arms around my torso.

"Shh .." I said, taking her bridal style and entering her room. She was crying and sobbing and I wished I can do something for her to feel better.

"Shh...I'm here! Everything is going to be fine." I said kissing her forehead.

I lean to put her on the bed, but her hold tightening around me. I smile thinking about how she feels the need for my proximity.

"Don't let me alone, Blaze! Please! "she said.

"I won't! Never!"

I run my fingers through her almost white hair. I remember when I have seen her first time, it was more like silver grey.

After about an hour she was much better.

"Do you want to talk about it? "

She shakes her head. She was now sitting on my lap, her head on my chest and her arms still wrapped around me.

"Thank you, Blaze! Thanks for staying! "she said looking up at me.

"There's nothing you need to thank me for, Evolet! I owe you my life!"

She jumps from my lap. Hurt in her eyes.

"Is that it? You stayed because you owe me?!" she yelled, tears falling on her face again.

"What?No! I didn't.."

"Of course! You owe me! Otherwise, why waste your time with someone like me? An elemental without element! Someone that even her parents are hiding things from! Someone that everyone talks about like I'm an alien! I get it! I'm different! But I didn't ask for this! I didn't ask to be like this!"

"Evolet ..i.."

"No! You don't owe me anything! I would have done the same for anyone else! I didn't do it for you if this is what you think! I don't even like you, King Blaze! "she said wiping her tears away.

I could see the pain in her heart when she spoke. 'Did people treated her different! She was so kind and beautiful, how could anyone hurt her?'

"Get out of my room, Your Majesty! "she said. "Now that you know you don't owe me nothing there's no reason for you to be here!"

"You're right, Princess! There's nothing for me here!" I said and left her room!
