Chapter 5

Daven's POV The florescent lights hits my face as I squint my eyes. Everything was pissing me off. The room I was in was a sanctuary of elegance, it spoke of wealth and lay nestled within the castle's stone wall. The air lingers with sweet fragrance of burning candles, scent of lavender and I was standing by the fireside. "Zane brought home a stray...from the zaphrim pack, is he trying to wedge a war?" "She's not a stray" I corrected pouting my lips and stuffing my hands in the pocket. My mind wasn't here but on Xyn, her imagine keeps reappearing and I was restless. She has to leave somehow or she won't survive to see the next day. She moved on so quickly but not with my brother! "Daven?" I rolled my eyes at her, my mother, sitting on the bed with her harry potter glasses that sat on the bridge of her nose. She was Luna saphira, anyone heard of the bloody Luna? that's her and more like the backbone of this pack. Her tale was for another day but right now, someone wouldn't get off my head. On her lap sat a treasure box, which was open and her hands tasted various ornaments. There was no smile on her face, strictness was her order and she hates the fact that I was opposite of her. All what she says never register in my head as she detest Xyn at first sight. A blind person doesn't need to know that her aura already disapproves Xyn as part of the household. How would she feel if she learns I had even been in a relationship with her for three years. This was part of the reason I never wanted to bring Xyn home. Father wasn't back yet from his field trip. It made me ponder over his reaction, he might consider her as a spy. The fact that she was from our rival pack was dangerous, she can't morph into a wolf or should I say she's wolfless and the flaws goes on. My wolf let out a silent hiss. I shouldn't be worried, she got herself into this mess. What? They had a one-night-stand? I stomp a foot, panting and boiling inside. "Are you alright?" Her voice cut through the many thoughts in my mind. I only gave her a nod, just so she'd think I was with her. No! Xyn is locked up in a room, probably freaking out. If this is her way of getting me jealous, it's not working. Xyn never thinks of herself, her pride would certainly kill her. "What do you want mother?" I asked losing interest and folding my hands. It's the only way to keep still at least and not morph into a wolf and leap at Zane. We're just at loggerhead. She stood up from where she sat, placing the large treasure box on the bed. Her eyes read me and her crescent fell. It seems she wanted to say something but changed her mind. "It's simple daven, keep an eye on that stray..." "She's not a stray, she's xyn" i repeated frustrated and trying not to transfer my aggression on her. My mother sigh, a scoff escaped her lips as she pursed and shook her heart. "Whoever she is, make sure she isn't a threat and Zane mustn't present a mate" I stood, glued to a position, my soul left me and I was staring plainly at her. I knew what she meant but I wanted her to say it in a more clearer point of view. "What?" I managed to mutter, goosebumps held me. My mother stretched her fingers, her eyes displaying a distaste as she flickered them and then coldly said; "Get rid of her daven"
