VALERIE’S POV.
I looked out of the window, waiting to see the doctor. He was supposed to come in today to check on her fake pregnancy. I sighed heavily. He was supposed to be here by twelve noon, but it was already past one, and there was no sign of him yet. My mind raced with numerous thoughts of what could possibly have happened. What if Mark had noticed we were lying to him, and he was going to punish both of us?
Just when I gave up on meeting him today, one of the maids came to knock at my door, informing me that the doctor was waiting for me downstairs. I quickly made my way to the private study room where we usually have our appointments.
“What took you so long?” I breathed out as I watched him. He looked worried and disoriented.
