Ryvessa was really humorous. The hell, she was even laughing alongside me, not knowing I was actually laughing at her.
I paused and said, “Why are you laughing?”
“I don’t know,” she shrugged.
“Maybe there was something that made you laugh, that’s why I joined you.”
I shook my head. “You know I’m angry with you, right?”
She pouted. “What did I do this time?”
“Where have you been all this while, Vessa? I warned you not to wander around. Who the hell did you know here?”
She frowned. “No one. I just wanted to explore.”
“You wanted to explore? And you got a farmer’s cap from there? You went to the market, didn’t you?”
She nodded. “Yeah, I did. How did you know?”
“I’m an Alpha, remember?” I smirked at her face.
“Wait...how’s this a farmer’s cap? It’s actually nice. I got it from a pretty girl.”
“That’s what I’m talking about, Vessa.
You know nothing, yet you keep arguing with people.
Don’t go anywhere. You’re just disobedient, and for that I’m going to punish you severely.”
“Punish me? Like I’m a kid, right?
There’s no freaking way you’re doing that, Drexel! For the fact that you used your powers to lock me up and expect me to stay on the bed for hours! My initial plan wasn’t to come here to warm up your bed, and you know that.”
He yelled, “Your plan? Who told you to come with me in the first place? Huh? You sneaked into my car, Vessa.
Were you even aware of where I was heading to?”
Immediately she hissed and was about to walk out on me.
I dragged her back. “Don’t do that again, Vessa. Don’t you dare walk out on me, or else."
“Or else what, Drexel? Huh? You expect me to sit my ass in your room all day and be happy about that, right?”
She kept ranting.
“Shush,” I said.
I heard a muttering of pain, like someone was crying.
I used my Alpha instinct and immediately speed-walked to the place.
It was Milan.
The hell, what happened to her?
I mind-linked Sky to come over. He came.
“What happened to her?”
“I don’t know, Alpha,” Sky answered. “I’ve even been searching for her too.”
And Ryvessa came toward where we were.
“I made that happen to her!”
“You what?” I asked.
She wasn’t even feeling remorseful, like she actually did this on purpose.
I faced Sky. “Take her to the healer. She’s badly hurt.”
He nodded and took Milan while teleporting.
I faced Ryvessa. “The hell is wrong with you? She’s my Beta, one of the best I have.
Now she’s badly injured and it’s going to take days for her to be healed.”
I freaking locked you up with the barrier because I had reasons, but your disobedient side is taking charge of you.
She was about to talk when I said, “Just shut the hell up. You’re just stubborn, Ryvessa.
You would have killed her so I’ll know she’s dead and you’re the murderer."
Tears were slowly coming out of her eyes. I wasn’t happy the way I shouted at her, but regardless, she did the wrong thing.
Why the hell would she hurt Milan to that extent of almost killing her?
she kept standing while I stood up leaving. “I’ve a lot to do, so it’s either you sit down at a spot or go around hurting people,” I said to her and walked out of the room!
I needed to see my stepmom, I haven’t seen her. Guess I should now.
Ryvessa’s image just kept showing up in my head.
Dex’s voice came in. “You spoke to her harshly bro. Milan was actually at fault. You didn’t even want to hear her own side of the story.”
I growled.
“Go make peace with her, bro. It wouldn’t be nice if you guys start quarrelling now.
That’s one thing with you, always hot-tempered. You won’t calm down to know the roots of the story. You just concluded she’s at fault.
Remember what Ephesus said: have patience.” Dex said and Immediately he went off.
I’ll go apologize when I’m done with what I’m doing.
I teleported to the door of the room still the same, always quiet since father died.
I knocked twice on the door, waiting for a reply!
The guards opened it immediately. They all bowed. “Alpha.”
I walked in and met Mother taking her usual tea blended with ginger. Without even looking at me, she noticed my presence immediately.
“Look who remembered to come visit his kingdom after the long run!”
I smirked and spoke inwardly to Dex: “Isn’t that an insult?”
“It’s bro, just play along,” Dex said.
She hugged me and said, “Welcome, son. You look much fuller, like a man now, and I’m sure that’s because you already have a mate?”
“Mate?” I asked rhetorically. “I haven’t seen my mate, Mother. I’ve searched everywhere but I haven’t found her yet.
I guess the Moon Goddess didn’t destine me with anyone.”
She frowned. “I thought that’s what you went for. Thought you’ve found her...that’s why you’re back to the kingdom.”
“No, Mother. I didn’t see her.”
“So what do we do, son? The kingdom council wouldn’t want to hear any excuse again. Three years of no Luna and heir.”
“That’s what I'm thinking of, how to inform them now. I’m as confused as hell, Mother.”
She said, “Too bad your brother is wolfless.”
She muttered. I heard but decided not to say anything.
“What was he implying, bro?” Dex asked me.
“To make her son the Alpha, of course. She’s cunny. I see no difference with her and Godmother very cunny creatures.”
Her voice came low. “I’ll prepare something for you, Drexel. Don’t worry...it’ll be ready by tomorrow!”
I nodded muttering her thank you.
She hugged me saying, “Anything for you, my boy. Don’t worry..
I got you covered.”
I nodded while moving out of the room.
Fake people all around you..smiles that don’t even reach the heart, Dex said.
And I laughed, because he was actually right.
I’ve thousands of people but trust none. All of them are just haters and attention seekers.
I teleported to my room.
I met Ryvessa on the bed. She sat up, covering the duvet on her lower body.
I went to lay down in between her legs.
She wanted to push me when I said, “Calm down, mama,” while looking up to see her reaction.
She was sad, and I could tell. She was always lively...even when I’m angry she’ll always try to cheer me up.
“I’m sorry. I was Just pissed. Milan was someone who’s dedicated to her work.
I just wanted to see her smile but there was none. She was deeply hurt and it could tell on her facial expression.”
“What did she do, Ryv?”
She kept quiet. She didn’t reply me.
I was just staring at her face waiting to hear her.
Then suddenly her voice, came low and cold.
“So I’m a slut to you, Drex? I’m one of those girls that you dump after using them? And I’m one of those girls that aren’t your standard, right?”
She kept saying those disgusting words while hot tears were coming out of her eyes at the same time!
I stood up from the bed and hugged her.
I needed not to explain anything right now, just give her some comfort.
I kissed her cheeks, the tears, and her forehead, saying, “Shush, don’t cry anymore.
All those shits aren’t worth your tears."
I placed her on the bed while holding her hands to make her face me.
“Who told you those things?”
She didn’t reply, but her response came: “Are they true, Drexel? You would dump me when I’m not needed anymore, right?”
“Who the hell told you that rubbish, Ryvessa? Talk to me,” I yelled.
“The same person you yelled at me for hurting. You didn’t even want to hear my opinion.
I would have killed her so you know why she dares say those rubbish to me.”
She said while smiling as she kissed my cheeks saying, that's why I gave her some kicks for telling me rubbish, my love.
