Chapter 18
The next week, both Tuesday and Friday went very well. Cam drove to Testa’s on Tuesday and to Philly on Friday. There were no snafus at any point. Blake seemed very happy.
The week after that started well, too, until Cam got a call on Wednesday.
“Philly got busted last night,” Blake announced.
“Oh, God!” Cam exclaimed.
“All the stuff you brought there Friday is gone.”
Cam sighed. “Now what?”
“I don’t know. Ruth is scheduled to call this afternoon. She’s going to have a cow when she finds out. First Dave, now Philly. She’ll have to decide what happens next.”
“Well, whatever she wants, I’m here.”
“Good. Thanks Cam.”
That phone went dead.
Cam looked up at Maggie. “Well, last night shook something up. Blake doesn’t know what to do. He’s waiting for Ruth to call.”
