Three days after Dan Perkins was shot three men rode into town from the southwest. They were Charles Ringo, Jamie Borland and Jeremy Grant. Jeremy was there to see what his money had bought, and to make sure both Ross Hendershot and Ralph Forney were dead. Ringo had two guns strapped to his sides which he meant to use. The guns were both Colt forty-five pistols. Both had short barrels, comparatively. They were not Buntline Specials but were made for a fast draw. The holsters on Ringo's sides were set down low on his legs where the butts of the pistols were adjacent to his hands. They were set for a quick draw and they carried six loads each. He wouldn't be needing a fast draw today if he and Borland did as they planned.
