And All It Started At The Night We Met

Chapter 6

It's been six months, since Alice joined as a Personal Assistant of Shane Davies.. And in these six month she actually realised Shane's motive to get her as his Personal Assistant.

He wanted revenge to satisfy his king size ego.. However, Alice did not complaint at all.. She has always make herself understand that 'this is the part of life and to take the very big responsibility of her own family she needs to go through lots and lots of hard things..'

He made her work thousand times more than anyone else.. Leonard felt really bad for her but he couldn't do anything.. Shane would not listen to him.. Still, he tried to talk but Shane answered arrogantly "I will not stop till my ego satisfies"..

All these while, Alice never lost her professionalism over her.. She has always been calm and composed..

On the other hand, because of her attitude Shane was both surprised and irritated.. Surprised because of her tolerance power and hard work.. Irritated because he has been lasting over her.. Specially, the day she wore her that white office attire.. She looked to simple yet ravishing!! Moreover, her habit of biting lips time to time started tormenting him like a ghost!!

I leaned back on my chair after completing today's work.. Thank Goodness, we don't have much work today.. I can leave early and take some rest.. I swear, I have been waiting for this day to come in my life..

I have learned lots of things about business and now I am getting confident day by day.. Two days ago when I talked with my father he praised me because of my progression and I am very happy about that.. Because dad does not praise a lot, not only me but anyone..

In these months I realised that Shane Davies has an extremely big ego and it's really hard to satisfy.. The broken sound box issue has been passed but I think he couldn't forget it till now.. That's why he loves torturing me through work..

I didn't mind though, I know it's tiring but it's actually helpful for my own growth.. Aside of this, Shane Davies is a man of his words.. He is a genuine workaholic and devoted to his works.. He loves his family a lot and a down to earth guy..

He is good but his attitude towards women, I really don't like it.. Though he never behaved with me badly, well we never talked about anything without work though.. But still..

I just hope I don't have to entangle with him much till I leave this place.. It would be better to stay away from a playboy like him.. I swear, he changes women like a tissue paper! In this one month, I don't know of how many women I have been dealt with!

Compared to him his brother Leonard is easy to go with.. He is a good guy.. He would say sorry behalf of his brother often.. He is more like a brother to me..

In these six months, I also made friends.. On the top list it's Noel.. Noel Blake, the person I met at the interview.. He is a very good guy.. Well, I like him.. He is a husband material guy.. Caring, kind hearted, honest and hard working.. Any girl would be lucky with him..

I am also comfortable with Jacob and Robin.. Jacob the receptionist and Robin is Leonard's assistant.. They both are also very good.. That's it, this is my progress in one month..

Suddenly, there was a knock on my door "Come in".. A head popped inside.. It's Noel.. He smiled at me "are you free now?" He asked..

"Yes, I am.. I have completed my works and will head to home.." I replied..

His smile brighten "well, I am going home too.. Let's go together.."

"Okay, give me few.. I am coming" Hearing me he nodded and closed the door from outside..

I don't know why but my egoistic director left early today.. At least he called and said that.. I picked up few files which I have to organise in director's table and then I am done..

Getting out from the office I found Noel standing at one corner while doing something in his phone.. Hearing sound he looked up and flashed his charming smile "done? Let's go"

I nodded "yes, just let me kept this on director's table then I am done"..

He nodded and get busy with his phone again.. I went inside director's cabin and organised those files..

The moment, I was about to walk out of the office, suddenly I felt a dropping sound came from inside the attach bathroom.. It took me off guard..

Is there anyone inside? But director left, right? Then who can it be!? It was really suspicious..

I just can't leave like this, I have to check.. What if, it's something unusual! I walked up to the bathroom door.. And much to my surprise, it was not lock! I pushed the door and the scene before me gave me terrible goosebumps!!

My boss was lying down on the bathroom floor, unconscious! I was so confused at first that for a second I didn't know what to do.. Then finally when I regain it, I quickly went to him and get on my knees..

I touched his cheek and I swear I felt my hand burnt! He literally was burning! "Director! Director! Can you listen to me!?" I tried to wake him up by giving some water splash..

He finally responded and hold my hands.. "I..I.." His tone was crusty because of fever.. He couldn't spoke anything further, only held my hand..

I have to take him inside the office first.. "Director, can you try to get up please, hold me then try.. You have to get out from the bathroom.." But he was half unconscious and too weak to move.. Still, he tried and with my help he finally got up.. But his whole weight was on me..

Ofcourse, he is heavy as a well built man.. And I swear I would have drowned by now if I wasn't practicing weightlifting.. All thanks to my hard practices and trainings.. God! He is so heavy!

Finally, with much difficulty I brought him to the couch and settled him there.. His whole face was red because of fever and his whole body is like a walking fire! I just don't understand how could he be so irresponsible!? God!!

I have to take care of him and I think I can ask Noel's help in this.. I bend down to his ear "director, I have to call an ambulance and take you to the hospital, okay?"

I was about to get up, suddenly he hold my hand and started Murmuring something.. I couldn't understand and again bend my ears close to his lips "d..don't ca..ll a..an..y..one.. p. Please.. D..don't l..le..eave.. meh.."

It was tough to understand but finally I was able to get it.. I just don't understand what on earth he want!? He sounded so desperate and helpless.. I wanted to call the doctor but he doesn't want that.. Now, only I have one option, to take care of him by myself.. And before that I have to deal with Noel..

I can not say anything about what happened.. Taking a deep breath I walked outside and he came rushing in front of me "you okay? What take you so long?" He asked, looking genuinely concerned..

"Umm.. Nothing much, but umm I can not go home now.. Director asked me to do some important work before leaving.. I am sorry.." I felt bed while lying to him.. But, I can not take any risk to deny director's wish..

His bright face darkened.. But, as a good and kind human being he believed my lie and nodded "it's okay.. I can help you if you need it.." He said..

"No, I can handle it.. It will take much time.. You go home now.. You must be tired.. I am so sorry for standing you up.." I apologised again..

"No, it's okay" He gave me a sad smile and then left after wishing me luck..

I sighed and went inside.. I felt bad for Noel but I am feeling More bad for my boss.. He looked like a lifeless body at this point..
