CHAPTER FOURTEEN

(ANNA)

It’s been few days since i’ve left Scott home, and it’s been a little challenging since then, from preparing for exams and getting the hang on my new role as a guardian, I had no idea that a lot of people both human and supernatural need guardian, i’ve been helping out a lot of people from different races and communities since i’ve assume my role and a lot of supernatural have come to me for advice and help, I was surprise at first thinking why a supernatural being will come to me, a human for help but then again am not an ordinary human anymore.

Even Sasha have move to New York and she’s working from here but visit Kansas once a week. It has been difficult for her too and she decided to open a new branch here in New York, which she would be in charge of while her partner a very nice and charming woman, Penelope, take care of the branch at Kansas.

Everything seems to be going well, the elementals have stop attacking females and we’ve heard nothing from the creature, though Scott is still being paranoid saying they might just be waiting for the right time to attack, so we all need to prepare which is why every once in a while we all meet at the guardian compound for training even when Scott voice his opinion of preferring his estate to the compound but we’ve put his clan in enough danger we don’t think it will be wise to put them in more danger we need to prepare ourselves for what is to come.

This Saturday however we are taking a break and helping out Sasha to set up her new branch. Walking inside the building I look around with a smile at the improvement done to the place, where there was once a vacant space were now filled with table and chairs also cubicle for office space for new employee, the décor was classic, Sasha wasn’t spearing money on her new branch, the whole place looks beautiful, I walk in the direction of her private office and find the others there.

“Hey Anna, how was your exam.” Sasha asked as she stand from her couch.

“It was fine, I feel relieved, now I can fully concentrate on one thing at a time.”

“You know you can still quit right? You are smart you can find a good job with your bachelor’s degree you shouldn’t be wasting your brain working in a cosmetics company as a sales executive.” Sia said.

“You can always quit school too if everything is getting too much to handle am sure Scott can come up with a way for you to still be here without returning home.” Cassandra input.

“Thank you guys for your concern but am doing fine, if it gets too much I will let you know.”

“Alright if you say so.” Sia uttered

“How was your date with Scott?”

With a raised brow I turn to Sasha, “Really.”

With a shrug she replies, “We were just talking about your job and how stressed you might be and I happen to tell them Scott will keep your mind off things since you guys have been going out on dates recently.”

“It not like it’s a secret that you two are into each other so it’s no big deal you decided to go out and sooner or later either you tell us or not we will still know about you two.” Cassandra said.

“It’s not like am keeping it a secret, it’s just I want to take it slow and try to figure things out before making a decision.”

“We understand.” Sia said

“But how was your date.” Cassandra asked curiously.

“It was fine he’s a gentleman and we get to know more about each other.”

“That’s good at least things are going well, I heard from Maddox that one of the suppose mate owns a luxurious club called lairxirious.” Sasha said.

“Seriously, lairxirious, as in dragon’s lair? Can he be more obvious.” I said.

“How about we check it out tonight.” Sasha asked

“I don’t think so, I don’t want to get involve with a possible mate.” Sia replied.

“Come on guys whether we like it or not we are still going to meet them, remember Scott said they are coming this week to see us.”

“So far they’ve not, which might be a good thing.” Sia respond

“Come on we might not even come across Cade.”

“Who’s Cade?” I asked curiously.

“The owner of the club, he’s not always around he’s mostly in his office.”

“And how did you know this.”

“Maddox told me, I ask what the others were like, he said Alexander is a scientist and Cade owns a club.

“We can go to any other club why did you want to go to his?”

“Out of curiosity, I even manage to get us an invite card.” She said while she pulls out a black invite card from here bag.

“Why would we need an invite card to enter the club?” Sia asked.

“Because it’s not a local club, so what do you say ladies, it’s going to be the best gift you will be giving to me for celebrating my opening.”

“That’s blackmail, but you win I’m in, then I won’t bother to look for a gift that will sooth you.” Sia said.

“I’m in too.” Cassandra said

“So am i.”

“Alright then lets quickly set up this place to get prepare for tonight.”

The club was beyond my imagination, I mean, is it even possible for me to come up with something this disconcerting. I stare in shock at the scene around me, not far away a couple was grinding on each other on the dance floor, while another group of three were kissing and touching themselves in an inappropriate way.

“Wow, I don’t know someone was running a p**n house.”

“It’s not a p**n house, this place just allows you to indulge in your deep and heartfelt desire, and it’s not like they are having s*x on the dance floor.”

“They can as well just do that, look at them, this should be illegal.”

“Actually it’s legal.”

“I can’t believe this.”

“I think it’s fun, you can just get loose and be yourself without anyone judging you, it’s not necessary to participate in the show, you can just watch or have fun.”

“Ladies, hello!”

We turn to see four guys walking towards us, they are all in faded ripped jean and tank top.

“Am Lucas and my friends here are Matt, John and Kev, would you ladies mind joining us for a dance.”

“Oh, thanks, we are fine, just watching the whole thing, we are not really dancers, two left foot and all, Cassandra said with a nervous laugh.

“Are you sure,” asked Matt

“Positive,”

“Well if you change your mind we will be over there across the hall just signal one of us and we will be at your service.”

“Don’t even bother, they are all taken for the night.”

We turn in the direction of Maddox and another guy beside him.

“Hello ladies, hope you are having a wonderful time, am the CEO of this club.”

“I thought they said you don’t come out much to the main floor.” Cassandra asked.

“I don’t, but when am having such lovely ladies like you at my club I can’t help but come over to welcome you.”

“Really, is that how you welcome every lovely lady that come to your club?”

“Not all, but potential partners and business partners, don’t let your mind in the gutter, I don’t do anything with them just welcome them and show them around.”

“Alright, anything you say.”

“Aww, am hurt what is my gain lying to you when you can find out the truth from anyone in the club.”

“True.”

“Let me show you around.”

After our stroll of the club, Sia asked, “Is this your only source of income?”

“No, I have some other dealings, this is just for fun and relaxing, why do you asked, is it not to your liking?”

“Nah, just wondering, it’s nice though in its own way.”

“Thanks.”

We move to the dance floor and sit in a corner while we watch our surrounding, later on we join people on the dance floor and have fun for the rest of the night, when it was time to leave, he offer to take us home but we decline but he insisted, and we agree on letting his driver take us to our respective places.
