Act 3 scene 1

Two days later around 1pm Selena walks down the stairs wearing a green palazzo,a white body hug shirt,her hair let down and sneakers

Selena:josh!( She calls out she walks down the stairs)

Josh:in here( he answers from the kitchen)

Selena:why are you all dressed up ( josh is wearing a blue jean a packet shirt , sneakers and his hair down standing by the fridge with a bottle of water in his hand)

Josh:you said you were picking up Todd child today

Selena:yeah ,and thats where I'm off to

Josh:well I want to accompany you ( he smiles wierdly)

Selena:josh are you okay ( she gives him a questioning look)

Josh:what .. I can't come?

Selena:its your business really,if you wannna come ,fine then,suit yourself

Josh: I'll grab my keys( he walks to the living room and takes his car keys from the drawer)

Selena: what ,no driver today?

Josh:i want to drive ( he opens the door for her)

Selena:you seem to like letting your hair down recently ( she looks at his hair)

Josh:max says its a good fit,what do you think

Selena:its not bad( she says before walking out and josh follows behind locking the door)

At Todd Mansion,the workers take Josh and Selena to the living room

Maid : I'll inform master Todd that you're here( she bows and leaves)

Josh:. Master Todd ( he scoffs)

Selena: josh!

Josh:sorry( he clears his throat and a few minutes later , Todd walks down with a bag ,and a maid follows behind with kendal in her hands,,...kendal is a chubby, tall,fair , and cute girl,she has long hair which is always falling on her face)

Todd: Selena,thank you so much for coming ( they give a short hug) Mr.Bayer( he shakes Josh) this is kendal, come on kendal say hi( kendal who was quietly standing behind him comes forward)

Kendal:Good afternoon, I'm kandal Sawyer, I'm five years old ( she says without fully looking at them)

Selena:awwn she's shy( she and Todd laugh, then she bend down to kendals level)hi I'm Selena,and this grumpy old man here is my husband josh,( she points at josh and laughs,josh just smirks) you'll be staying with us for a while okay?

Kendal:okay

Todd: how about you guys stay for dinner

Selena;no ,thank you ,um ..we already have plans ( josh raises his eyebrow)we should get going

Josh: before we go can i have a minute with mr sawyer? ( He looks at Selena)

Selena:why any problem?( She gives him a warning look)

Josh: it's just a friendly chat, relax

Todd: kendal why don't you stay here with Selena and keep her company, I'll be right back ( kendal nods and they go to his office)

Selena:so tell me kendal, what do you like to do for fun?

Kendal:make cookies ( she says with a slight smile)

Selena:(her eyes widen) really? You know how to make cookies

Kendal:(she nodds) my mom taught me( her face becomes slightly pale)will she be alright?

Selena:of course she will,no way she's gonna leave you behind( she laughs and kendal smiles)

Kendal:am i still , going to go to school?

Selena:do you want to go to school?( Kendal shakes her head) how about this I'll give you this week off,then you'll start next week again

Kendal:okay( she nods)

At Todd's office,the two men enter the office and the door closes

Todd:i just want to thank you alot mr Bayer for letting Kendal stay with you ,you it's really a lot of.............

Josh: Selena already filled me in with the details you dont have to tell me anything ( he interrupts staring straight at Todd with his hands in his pocket) I'm going to be honest with you mr Sawyer,i don't like you one bit ,,.. but my wife seems to have a good relationship with you so I'll play along,i want you to understand that if you should ever try to use her kindness against her you will regret it....i get that you're going through a lot but next time if you need favours ,i believe you have other friends and families,you and my wife have only been friends for a couple of months ,i advise that you keep a boundary between you guys,know your limits,like i said earlier, I don't like you ,i also don't hesitate to play with my g*n if you know what I'm saying.....so fix up your family problems and stay the hell away from Selena okay?( He says flattly and Todd just nods in shock) good ( he pats Todd's shoulder) lead the way( he points at the door and Todd opens the door and the go back downstairs)

Selena: do you like pink,we can paint your room pink if you want

Kendal:no thank you,i prefer black or dark blue ( Josh and Todd walk in)

Todd:okay baby looks like you gotta go( he laughs and bends down as Kendal walks to him) you be a good girl for me alright,be respectful and responsible okay?( Kend nods) promise me you won't give them a hard time

Kendal:i promise ( she hugs him then walks over to Selena)

Selena:we should get going

Todd: of course, thank you again Selena,and you Mr Bayer ( he avoids eye contact with josh and Selena notices and gives a curious look)

Josh: anytime,( she smiles mischievously)

Todd:ill see you out then( he picks uo kendals bags and they all walk to the car)

Selena:may i ask what you told Todd( she whispers to him)

Josh:it was nothing important ( he whispers back)

Selena: I'd still like to know( she whispers as they reach the car)

Josh: I've forgotten ( he smiles as he opens the car door for them, Selena rills her eyes and sits at the back seat with kendal)i guess I'm the driver then( he walks over to the driver side and throws Todd a glance before getting in and driving off)

After they arrive back at the villa , Selena takes kendal to her room,it has a barbie wallpaper and a pink bed ,pink table,pink wardrobe and pink doors

Selena: sorry ?,i was sure you'd be a fan of pink

Kendal:do i have to sleep here?( She looks at her in disgust)

Selena:you really don't like it huh( she looks remorse) okay how about you just sleep here for the night and then I'll get someone to fix it up tomorrow

Kendal:okay( she says reluctantly)

Selena: okay.... you've been on the road for a while how about you take a shower and watch tv ( she points at the t.v in the room)

Kendal:will you watch it with me ?

Selena:i will if you want me to ( kendal nods) okay then ,i will ,come on take off your clothes ( kendal takes off her clothes and they go to the bathroom)

Later on Selena and kendal are on kendals bed watching a movie and eating popcorn

Selena: I'm really surprised that you don't watch cartoons

Kendal:i watch it when i can't find any interesting movie to watch, besides its all fake ,why should i spend so much time on imagination ( she says flatly)

Selena:i must confess, you're really smart for your age

Kendal:i get that a lot

Selena:but why don't you smile often or laugh,you look pretty when you do

Kendal:i know there's something wrong with my mom that no one wants to talk about

Selena:(she looks at Kendal not knowing what to say)um ..kendal ..i( someone knocks on the door and Selena looks relief)come in ( a maid walks in)

Maid:Mr.Bayer and his brother are down stairs ,they ask that you both come down for dinner

Selena: we'll be right there ( the maid leaves)

Kendal:Mr josh has a brother?

Selena:its his step brother max,i think you'll like him cause he's more fun and interactive....oh and can you not call josh Mr josh its kinda wierd

Kendal:well if i call him josh it's disrespectful

Selena:how about uncle

Kendal:okay( she nods)

Selena:okay ,lets go( she carries her)

Kendal:i can walk by myself thank you

Selena:okay then ( she drops her and they walk downstairs to the dining table,...max is sitting next to josh, wearing a black hoodie and a black short sneaker)

Josh:There they are ( he smiles leaning back on his chair)

Selena :what ... you guys gossiping?( She pulls out a chair for kendal then sits)

Max: josh,you didn't tell me was this cute( he smiles at kendal)

Josh:i Don't remember telling you she was cute at all( he whispers to himself)

Max: what's your name

Kendal:kendal sawyer

Max:i like her already, I'll definitely take take you out an pretend you're my daughter ( he jokes)

Kendal:why would you do that( she pooks a little puzzled)

Max:cause kendal,some ladies like single dads with cute children, especially daughters ,it makes it easy for to get......

Selena:oookay max ... that's enough information ( she gives him a stern look ,then he nods repeatedly and winks at Kendal)come on kendal,eat something ( she puts food on kendals plate)
