The next morning, I wake up seven in the morning,

"Good morning" I greeted Oniichan when I found him in the kitchen. He was wearing a blue apron and cooking something

"Good morning" he greeted back "Breakfast will be ready, so take your seat"

I walk towards the table "What's for breakfast?" I asked

"Tamagoyaki"

"Hmm... Looks delicious" I said

"Yeah. In English, rolled egg"

"Wonderful"

"How's your night? Did you sleep well?"

"Uhm. I had a good sleep." I said as I found an envelope on the table "What's this?"

Noeru-Kun looked at it "It's an Omiai Invitation" he said

"It's for you and it's for today" I said as I read it. It was written in English, except for the title.

"Yeah but I'm not coming"

"Why?"

"I'm not interested and I have work"

"Saioko Fujimoto" I read again. "Who is she?"

"She's the daughter of my father's best friend, a beautiful and wealthy businesswoman. She's also in a food business like you"

"Really? I would like to meet her"

"One day" he said as he took the invitation, put it aside and served me breakfast "Itadakimasu" he said as he eats with me

A few minutes before we finished breakfast

"Where's papa?" I asked

"He'll be down soon, he's really busy"

"What is he doing?"

"His hobby, wood crafting, you can't disturb him if he's doing that"

"I see"

"Well" Oniichan said as he stood up "I'll be going. I'm sorry if I can't let you come with me, I'm having a meeting with few investors of our company but tomorrow, I promise, I'll bring you with me"

"Alright. I'll just go somewhere"

"Okay. Just leave a note for dad. Here's my mobile number" He said as he handed me his calling card. "And here's a phone for you" he said as he gave me a mobile phone "Call me if you get lost"

"Don't you worry. I'll find my way"

"Okay. See you" he said as he left

I stood up, put the plates on the sink and then returned to where Oniichan left the invitation. I smiled, "I guess I'll visit her"

I took a shower, put on my favorite shirt and jeans, left a note to dad and took a cab.

The cab stops in front of a large gate,

I am the right track when I saw 'FUJIMOTO' embedded on the stone wall and as I was about to push the door bell, the gate opened and a man on late 50's went out.

He looked at me

"Hello" I said "Oh, Nihao..."

"Hello, can I do anything?"

"Oh, thank goodness you speak English. Do you also understand English?"

"Of course I am. What can I do for you?"

"I'm Samantha, Noeru Hamasaki's younger sister" I said as I shake hands

"Ah, I'm Jun Imazaki, the Fujimoto's lawyer"

"So you are Noeru's sister?" the lady said

"Ah, you speak English too... that was a relief"

"I never knew Noeru have a sister"

"Well, the same goes for me. I never knew I had one until my mother died"

"Oh, you're a lost sister"

"Yeah"

"Jun said you came here in replacement for your brother?"

"Yes, he's not coming."

"I see and why did you come here?"

"It's a rare opportunity" I answered

"Really"

"My brother said you're in food business"

"My family is" she answered

"Then, it is you that I'm looking for. You are the person I needed as my partner" I said

"You speak proud of yourself. It is I who should choose"

"I'm sorry." I looked at the men sitting with me. So they're competitors. "Ms. Saioko, can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Can I sit on my own? I'm not comfortable with this"

"Do as you want"

"Thank you" I said as I do an Indian sit. The men looked at me weirdly. I smiled at them.

"You're funny Ms. Hamasaki"

"It's Sam. You can call me Sam, Real name is Samantha Greene. I'm not yet used with Hamasaki"

"Alright then"

A few minutes later, Saioko prepared a tea in a traditional Japanese way. I was amazed of how she's doing it.

"You're staring too much" Saioko said

"I just can't take my eyes of you. You are elegant and beautiful"

I noticed Saioko turned red as I said it.

"Here's your tea"

"Arigato" I said as I took the tea. As I sip the tea, something pop out of my mind. I should have her. I should begin my business talk. "Ms. Fujimoto" I called

"Is there anything wrong, Sam?"

"I want you to be mine" I said "I am proposing to you"

"As I told you, I should be the one to choose"

"Then you should choose me. I know I'm the odd one among this group but I have more potential than any of them. I'll give you security"

"Are you sure of what you are proposing to me?"

"I am."

"It's impossible"

"Nothing is impossible in this world. We'll make our partnership prosperous. You will never regret choosing me"

"Then will you give my demands?"

"I will"

"Will you promise to be loyal to me?"

"As long as you do the same"

"Can you give me happiness?"

"Everyone deserve it"

"You spoke well"

"It's what I do" I said as I hold her hands. "Oniichan is such an i***t for letting this kind of opportunity go. He was an i***t of letting you go." I looked at her in the eyes "But in one glance I know, you're the person I'm looking for and I don't want to let you go"

There was long silence.

"Alright then" Saioko said "I'll have you as my partner"

I smiled "You will never regret it"

She claps her hand as Jun went inside. "I am choosing her"

Jun looked at me "I see" he looked at me and smile "Your long trip has not gone into waste" he said. He then assisted the three men out of the room.

"You're promising me that I will not regret choosing you"

"Yes"

"Then, I would like us to be official"

Jun went back in again with a paper in his hand. He handed it down to Saioko.

"This will be a temporary contract; in case you break this engagement... there are few consequences" Saioko said

"I wouldn't break it, it's a rare opportunity" I said "As I told you, in one glance, I know you're the person I'm looking for."

"Good, so in that case, let's begin signing" she said as she signed down

As I looked at the paper,

"Anything matters?" Jun asked

"It's all written in Japanese" I said "Well, doesn't matter." I added as I signed in

"Well. That's it" Jun said as he looked at Saioko. "Omedetōgozaimasu" he looked back at me "Congratulations. May you two live happily" he said "You two are now official"

Saioko smiled "Very well" she said as she stood up and seat next to me "This is for our future together" she said as she kissed me. I was partly surprise but in other countries as I heard, kissing is a form of greeting. Guess Japan's the same.

"Sam!" I heard someone called from the outside and then the sliding door opened. It was Oniichan "Sam, are you alright?!" Oniichan said as he walks towards us

"Hello Oniichan"

"Let's go" he said as he pulled me out

"But Oniichan... I and Saioko are still talking"

"Why did you go here?"

"I wanted to meet her. She's a very nice person"

"No, she's not. You don't even know her"

"She's a business woman and I like her. She even chose me as her partner"

"Chose you?" Oniichan looked at me with a worried face "Tell me what happened."

"We already signed contract"

"What?!"

Back at the house,

"Tell us the details Sam" Papa asked me.

"Well, when Onii-chan told me that Saioko's also in food business... I took the chance to meet her. So I went to her house with the invitation"

"It's a business invitation I guess"

Papa sighs "Sam... you see... Omiai is a wedding invitation"

"A what?!" I looked at Papa "You mean"

"Yes, you are already engaged with Saioko Fujimoto, also known as the red snake of the East. Well, her family doesn't only own a food business but a few illegal businesses. After all, their family are well known as Yakuza's."

"Yakuza? You mean like a Japanese Mafia?"

Both papa and Oniichan nodded

"I'm gonna be dead am I?"

Again, they both nodded.

So that's the reason I was engaged unexpectedly.
