Olivia moved quickly, dodging to the side, but some of the hot coffee still splashed onto her feet.
She inhaled sharply in pain.
Just as she was about to confront Hannah, she looked up and saw Hannah falling backward into the glass cabinet behind her.
Instinctively, Olivia reached out to grab her.
But Hannah shook her off.
Crash!
Hannah's arm shattered the glass.
Blood flowed down her arm and onto the floor.
At that moment, Ethan’s cold voice came from behind.
“Olivia, what are you doing?”
Ethan’s tall, imposing figure quickly rushed to Hannah's side.
His dark eyes deepened.
“Are you okay?”
Tears streamed down Hannah’s pale face, and her lips quivered as she spoke.
“Ethan, it’s all my fault. I accidentally spilled coffee on Olivia, and she misunderstood, thinking I did it on purpose. That’s why she pushed me.
Please don’t blame her, okay?”
Hearing this, Olivia’s eyes widened in disbelief.
She never expected Hannah to go so far as to frame her by faking an injury.
She immediately explained, “I didn't push her! She fell on her own.”
Ethan’s cold gaze swept over her, lingering briefly on the burn on her foot.
But it quickly shifted away.
Then, in a chilling tone, he said, “I'll deal with you when I get back!”
With that, he hurriedly left with Hannah.
Watching their retreating figures, Olivia’s face twisted with indescribable pain.
This was the man she had loved for seven years.
Between her and Hannah, he had never once chosen to believe her.
Olivia quickly composed herself. She wouldn’t let Hannah get away with that.
Even though she had broken up with Ethan, and she didn’t care what he thought of her anymore, she couldn’t tolerate being falsely accused.
If it happened once, it would happen again.
She immediately went to her colleague, Li, and asked her to get her boyfriend in the tech department to make a copy of the surveillance footage.
She would clear her name.
Once everything was handled, Olivia threw herself back into work.
With Ethan and Aiden both absent, the senior executives were already waiting in the conference room, so Olivia had to chair the morning meeting.
She methodically recorded the department reports and brought up several tricky projects for discussion.
The atmosphere in the conference room was much more relaxed without Ethan.
Everyone praised Olivia for her competence and joked about her working so well with Ethan. They asked if she might become their boss’s wife.
Olivia smiled faintly at their compliments.
“We’re just colleagues. Don’t make assumptions. Besides, I’ll soon be…” resigning.
But before she could finish her sentence, the door to the conference room was kicked open.
Ethan stood at the entrance, dressed in a black suit, his aura cold and menacing like a demon straight out of hell.
His deep, dark eyes fixed coldly on Olivia.
The previously relaxed atmosphere in the conference room immediately grew tense, suffocating everyone present.
All the executives stood up in unison and greeted him, “Mr. Ethan.”
Ethan ignored them and strode over to Olivia with his long legs.
His icy hand gripped Olivia’s wrist, and his voice was frigid and terrifying.
“Come with me.”
Ethan dragged Olivia out of the conference room.
As he glanced down, he noticed the red, swollen burns on her pale, smooth foot.
He scoffed in irritation, “You’re so stupid, you’re better off dead.”
Then, without warning, he bent down and scooped her up into his arms.
When they reached the parking lot, he roughly set her down in the passenger seat.
From the glove compartment, he pulled out an unopened tube of burn cream.
His eyelashes lowered, and his thin lips pressed tightly together.
A dark storm brewed in his deep eyes.
Ethan opened the box, squeezed some of the white cream onto his long, slender fingers, and gently applied it to the burns on Olivia’s foot.
His expression was unreadable.
Seeing Olivia wince in pain, her delicate brows furrowed, her lips pale from biting them, her fingers tightly clenched, Ethan’s touch softened slightly.
He carefully applied the cream to all the swollen areas.
Then, he lifted his gaze, his eyes unreadable as he looked at Olivia.
With a faint smirk, he said, “With how stupid you are, are you sure you’ll survive without me?”
Straightening up, he tossed the burning cream into Olivia’s lap. “Apply it once in the morning and once at night. Don’t let the burns get wet for the next couple of days, or you’ll end up with scars. Don’t come crying to me if that happens.”
Olivia kept her head down, her voice devoid of emotion. “Whether I survive or not, we’ll find out soon enough.”
Ethan looked at her stubborn face and let out an irritated snort.
“Olivia, if you want to throw a tantrum, fine. But why drag Hannah into it? Don’t you know she has depression? I told you she’s no threat to you. Why don’t you believe me?”
Whatever gratitude Olivia had felt towards him moments ago instantly vanished. Her eyes turned cold as she looked at Ethan, a mocking smile curling from her lips.
“Ethan, I’ll say it again: I didn’t touch her. She felt on purpose to frame me. If you don’t believe me, you can check the surveillance footage.”
Ethan’s eyes darkened as he looked at her. “I’m not that foolish. But Hannah has a blood clotting disorder and a rare blood type. She’s lost a lot of blood, and the hospital doesn’t have enough. You need to donate blood to her. I promise, if you do, the Song family won’t come after you, and this matter will be over.”
If Olivia had felt just a sting of pain before, now it felt like her heart was being torn apart.
It was a pain so intense that she forgot to breathe.
Ethan wanted her to donate blood to Hannah.
She had just had a miscarriage last week.
During the surgery, she had lost so much blood that she developed anemia, and she was still taking Chinese medicine to recover.
Olivia’s dark eyes glared at Ethan, her voice unusually defiant.
“Ethan, what if I told you my body can’t handle donating blood right now? What would you do? Force me to go?”
Ethan’s gaze remained cold as he looked at her.
“Your medical report showed no major issues. Donating 40cc of blood won’t have much impact on your health.
Besides, Hannah is the Song family’s treasure. Whether you’re responsible or not, if they decide to go after your family over this, I won't even be able to stop them.”
Olivia let out a bitter laugh.
Ethan only knew that Hannah was her father’s precious daughter, but hadn’t she been too?
When she had a miscarriage and bled so much, he hadn’t even picked up the phone.
But now, Hannah had just a small cut, and he was worried sick, even using her family to threaten her.
The contrast was painful.
Olivia’s eyes filled with sorrow as she looked at Ethan.
“Ethan, maybe 40cc of blood won’t hurt me, but what about 200cc?”
