The next morning, they all met at the mall to buy the things needed for the ball which is the next day. The boys went in a different direction separating from the girls. The girls went shopping for their dresses first. They all searched for their favorite type of dress and its color from which they had selected and listed it down the day before. After shopping for a long time, Rosie and her friends went to a nearby restaurant. It was their favorite. They were all truly excited for the upcoming ball. They chatted away happily. As they were waiting for their food, someone unexpected unfortunately came. It was Julie and her two sidekicks. They saw Rosie and her beloved friends chatting. Julie then spotted Draco sitting beside Rosie happily chatting away. She was envy and that outraged her. She went straight to the table and started a conversation. Everyone's mood automatically changed when they saw her there. Some rolled their eyes while some just ignored. "Hi there. Looks like everyone had gone out together," she started. "Can I know what you're doing here?" Emma, Riley's cousin asked. "Oh, it's sweet Miss Sallow, a total i***t," "Shut up, Julie," Heath said. "Don't you have any better work to do other than interfering here?" Chris asked. "Oh dearie, I just came to see how are you all doing," "Hey, Jules. Looks like someone went shopping," Liz said. "Look at their bags!" Annie continued. "HANDS OFF, JULIE!" Alice shouted as she was trying to take her bag. "Can you just go away? Why are you even here?" Rosie asked annoyed. "Someone's getting angry," Julie, Annie, and Liz chorused with a giggle. "Can I drink a little of this, baby?" she asked snatching Draco's drink, just before he shouted, in a blink of an eye Julie poured the hot drink over Rosie. "OUCH!" Rosie screamed standing up. "Oops! Mistake," Julie chorused again with her friends. "That's what you deserve, crush stealer," Julie finally said. "Get lost, Julie. Are you insane?" Draco asked. "Are you okay, Rosie?" Max asked concerned. "Does it hurt?" Henri continued. "She's totally insane," Theo said. "I-I'll just go clean it up," Rosie said heading towards the restroom. Alice followed her. Rosie cleaned herself up and went to join her friends. There were slight burn marks on her thighs and her hands. She made Alice promise not to tell anyone about the burns. They went back to chatting normally forgetting what had just happened. They ate their lunch and went around the town. They went home a little late. They all came in Draco's and Chris's car so that they don't have to find parking for every single car of theirs. Draco drove Rosie and Alice home lastly. Rosie invited Draco in. He accepted and with wide eyes saw the beautifully decorated house. Alice went to make some drinks while Rosie excused herself and took their things up to hers and Alice's room. She had a quick shower and went downstairs to make dinner for the three of them as they haven't eaten yet. This time, Draco helped Rosie with cooking. They were singing and talking away. Alice joined them a little later. They ate and had a little talk before Draco went back home. After that Rosie went back to her room. She was applying some medicine on her burnt marks when her phone lit up with a message. It was from Henri. Henri: Hi, Rosie.Henri here. Rosie: Hi. Henri: Asleep already? Rosie: Nope.About too. Why? Just imagine Henri taking my hand, leading me to dance---" "Okay, okay, Alice. Calm down. I'm going to take a bath," "I'll make breakfast," "Oookay?" They drove to their university after breakfast. Alice was blabbering about Henri, the ball, and dating him the whole ride there. Coincidentally, Henri reached at the same time. He came towards the girls and Alice, trying not to be awkward talked happily with Henri. Rosie excused herself from them and went to her favorite spot. It was a silent spot like a balcony surrounded by beautiful plants and the sweet fragrance from the flowers which gave peace of mind. Rosie took out her book, put on her headphones, and started doing her work. A few minutes later, someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around but no one was there. She took off her headphones and walked around and towards the stairs. She looked around to see if anyone was there but to no avail. "Is anyone there?Helo?" "BOO!" It was Theo, Max, and Riley. "My god! You guys just scared the nerve out of me," Rosie said in a slightly loud but shocked tone. They all started laughing. "Okay, okay.Time for class," Riley said. They all went to class laughing and teasing each other. Alice joined in with Henri a little later. They were all talking about the ball again and again. They had classes as usual but they were allowed to go earlier than usual so that they can prepare for tonight's ball. Rosie and Alice went home and had a quick nap. Then, they started getting ready when Alice suddenly said she will be going to the ball with Asher who had proposed to her a few days before. "Hey, Rosie. I almost forgot to tell. I'm going to the ball with Asher Axels. You know the guy who proposed to me? I decided to give him a chance as he was begging," "Okay?" "Ya, sorry.Mind going alone, babe?" "Absolutely no as there must be someone to pick you up when you're drunk," They giggled and Alice went to shower first. Rosie's phone suddenly lit up. It was a message from Draco. He asked to go to the ball with her in his car. They kept texting. Draco: Hey, free tonight? Rosie: What do you mean? Draco: Are you going to the ball alone or what? Rosie: Seems like Alice got a date.Ya, I'll be going alone Draco: Mind if I drop you? Rosie: Of course not. You're going alone? Draco: Yup.As usual Rosie: What about Julie? Draco: What's with her? Rosie: Didn't she ask you out? Draco: Not in the mood to go with her. She's super annoying. Rosie: Haha Draco: So, at 7? Rosie: Ya, sure. Draco: Meet you at 7! Rosie: Ok, boss! Draco: Boss? Are you serious? Rosie: I'm not Serious. I'm Rosie. Draco: Rosie: Ok, chill. It was just for fun. Draco: !At 7.SHARP!! Rosie: Okay. Draco: Bye Rosie: Bye❣ Rosie got ready and waited for Draco to arrive. Alice had gone early with Asher. The doorbell rang, and Rosie opened it, Draco stood there with a bouquet. He was mesmerized seeing Rosie in her long, strapless, red, frock gown designed with velvet. Her hair was left loose, her curls falling down her shoulders. She was wearing long gloves and high heels. He soon came to his senses, gave the bouquet to Rosie and they drove to the place the ball was held. As Rosie and Draco went in, everyone was speechless when they saw Rosie. They both went to their friends and everyone started complimenting Rosie. They were all nattering happily when the ball started. Henri took Alice away and Draco held Rosie's hand and lead them to the room's center. The soft music started playing and Draco placed his hand on Rosie's waist and started dancing. A few moments later everyone joined in. Teachers and students started dancing. They were all enjoying themselves. Everyone except Max and Julie. They were both irritated and angry seeing their crushes dancing with someone else. Julie went away silently whereas Max had more than enough drinks. He saw Draco and Rosie dancing gracefully and smiling at each other while dancing and jealousy took the best of him. Draco left Rosie to get some drinks for them. Seeing that, Max came to Rosie. They talked for a long time. They looked like they were fighting. Soon, Rosie went away running. After seeing Rosie running away all of a sudden, Draco got suspicious and ran after her. She ran towards the garden where nobody could see her. Draco tried calling out to her but she just started running faster. He chased after her, held her hand, and turned her to face him. She looked scared and lost. He asked her what had happened but she wouldn't tell. Rosie was silent and just shut Draco off by saying nothing was wrong and she just felt uncomfortable staying inside as she is having a mild headache all of a sudden. After the ball ended, Draco sent Rosie home. The cheerful girl was silent the whole ride. Draco tried playing her favorite song expecting her to sing along as she usually did but she only smiled at him and looked out the window. He suspected something was definitely wrong. "Are you okay, Rosie?" "Yes, I'm fine," "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure," "Hey, you can share anything with me you know," "Of course, Draco. By the way, thanks for the ride home," "Ok.Goodnight," "Goodnight and stay safe," "Sure, bye!" "Bye, Rosie,"
